You need to also correct both directions of the dual rates. You only adjusted one side. Use the roll and pitch sticks to adjust left and right for ailerons and up and down for elevator (pitch). That's probably why you are trimming so much.

I have the same heli, it's a great little trainer. I also suggest a Radiomaster TX16S 4-in-1 transmitter, they're fairly inexpensive and super tunable with multiple protocols, including Spektrum. I fly all of my helis with a TX16S. Keep on flying, my friend!

I just got this one. Been flying a fixed pitch Eachine 129 to get the hang of it, now I'm ready to move onto something more capable. But straight out of the box, this thing is absolutely wild, even in low rate! So I'm tuning it down, like you did in this video. Great transmitter!

It's a nice heli but VERY wild out of the box for sure! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I got the smoothest flight by lowering rates even farther and lowering the head speed, flies so much smoother now! So far I'm still happy with mine, seems very durable also, lots of crashes and its still going! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@kingfamilyrc5376 I had a mishap with my heli. In mid flight the rotor blades suddenly came off! The heli came down on soft long grass and didn't suffer any damage. On inspection, it turned out that the tiny screw on the horizontal axle had sheared off. I have not had any bad crashes with it so I don't understand how that could have happened. I'm now waiting for parts to fix it, luckily they're not expensive but the delivery time is quite long. Bit of a bummer.

@@ToiletTimeMeMes they are very powerful mini 3d helicopters. Not suitable for indoor flight and good to learn on. The remote control can be adjusted to restrict sensitivity and you can fly in 6g (stable) easily or 3d (upside down and tricks) but not easy. I would recommend buying spare battery's having at least 3-4.. And spare parts are really cheap just takes a few months to be delivered so I would stock up on tail kits, propeller blades, swash plates etc and other spares to be safe.. Hello! I wanted to ask for an advice or suggestion :) never had a CP heli, but i have a fixed pitch mini heli for indoors flights. Was struggling in the beginning and crashed it a lot.. but right now i'm able to fly it on fast speed with turns and spins and some maneuvres and without crashing into furniture and walls :) it is actually fun! Guess i learned orientations stuff and feel ok enough. Now i want a real CP 3d heli which will open so many possibilities for me. So after learning helis topic for few months, i'm trying to decide between two picks, K100S or 470LP as my first CP heli. Someone said i should start with mini stuff.. some other people say it is fine to start with a medium sized heli like 470LP. Originally i wanted to get a big heli as you probably remember by my previous comments, but seems now i'm prety fine with 470LP too. So, my only problem is to decide which one should be first, K110S or 470LP. I heard bigger helis are easier to fly because they are more stable, so i guess 470LP would be easier for me? Also, yes, i'm aware that flying CP heli is different from a fixed pitch. I wonder if i will be able to handle it, considering that i learned orientations stuff :) i also would not mind to buy K100S for indoor flights and practice. So here somes other question - what is better for home practice, flying on a simulator or real mini heli indoors? As i heard, real life flight still is different from simulation, so i wonder if flying mini heli indoors will work better.. or due to mini sizes, simulator with a bigger heli still wins in this comparison?

      Hello Cute Fox!
Congrats on flying your fixed pitch heli around so good!! I remember getting to that point, such a fun time! You are going to have so much fun switching to CP helis! I'm excited for you! You will handle the CP heli just fine I'm sure, the real only difference, besides being able to go 3D, is the CP helis are more responsive, especially when going up and down.
When I got my 330X, (no stability) it was very intimidating, I felt like I was going to hurt myself or someone else. I could fly it but barely and only in a large area, my backyard felt way too small to practice in, so I got a 230S V2 with stability (love it) and learned with that for a couple weeks then the 330X seemed easier and not as scary. (Both helis had many crashes during this time of learning.) Just telling you because it's true, my first experience with hobby grade helis was my 330X and those carbon fiber blades spinning that fast is scary! Maybe with the 330S (with stability) I wouldn't have been intimidated as much but those blades are still going so fast!
Most fixed pitch helis have auto level/stability so I'm guessing yours does. Do you fly with stability mode or without? The 470 would not have the stability with the regular BeastX unless you upgraded the BeastX to Pro or went with an Icon, then you would have stability. With all that being said I honestly think I've learned the most with the flight simulator and my Nano S2/S3 (K110S is just as good to Nano in every way I just didn't have K110s at the time, BOTH are great practice helis) but I have the most FUN with the big 550X! My Nano taught me a lot, even after I had the simulator and the 330X and 230S and I felt decent at flying them, then I got a Nano, and honestly I struggled a bit to keep it steady, for the reason of the smaller they are the harder they are, bigger is easier for sure it's all true. I could fly the Nano fine I was just super twitchy on the sticks. Once I learned to keep the Nano steady the other bigger helis felt much steadier to me to.
I guess is all really depends on a few factors here. I think how confident you are in yourself plays a huge part of helis, if you think you can fly it, and confident in yourself you'll be fine. Also keep in mind how much is in you budget for repairs, My 330X cost WAY WAY more to repair after a crash than my Nano. I'm guessing the 470 will be up there in repair cost as well. And you are going to crash with helis, it's a matter of when not if. That's why the sim and the K110s would be good, sim cost nothing to repair and K110s is cheap to fix. Also the K110s is using Futaba protocol, I'm not sure of the radio you're using but K110s has to be Futaba or get the RTF. What radio do you use? Also how often are you able to go out and fly? If you're stuck at home a lot get a K110s, If you can go out a bunch to fly you'll probably want a bigger one.
The sim or the K110S would be great for home practice, the sim is a great tool and will cost less in the long run and teach you just fine, I use my sim almost every day. The K110S will teach you a ton also and it seems like it can handle some crashes but everything has its limits and I've already gone through some blades and have no flying down time waiting for parts.
Very hard to give a solid answer here...... I'll tell ya this, if I could go back in time and tell me where to start, I would recommend to me a simulator and a 230S. The 230S is small enough I can hover it in my living room and fly around in the yard, still a full 3D CP heli that I can grow into, that will flip and roll and inverted and everything, it has stability mode, It is still cheap to repair being plastic, the bright orange makes it very easy to see even far away, big enough to handle strong winds, the exact 230S heli is in Real Flight sim and feels very close to real. I couldn't exactly fly around in the house with it, just a nice hover, but I feel like you want a big heli and the K110 and Nano are very small, very capable but very small and there is no epic blade sound, the 230S still gives a nice decent blade air cutting sound! There's also lots of brand options in the 230 size. I'm sure the Align or OMP or GooSky etc... is great to but I have no experience with them yet so I can't speak on them. The Blade 230S V2 is what I got. We also have some 230S Smart helis in the house, exactly the same as the V2, just with smart telemetry and stuff.
The sim, K110s, Nano, 230s and the 470LP you won't regret any of them, but as I said, with me in the beginning my 330X was very intimidating to me, very scary, (maybe you're braver than me and will be fine with a 470!) and the Nano/K110s even though great helis would have left me wanting more size and sound. 230ish size would have been where I started knowing what I know now.
I didn't mean to write a whole story here! And I don't know if I really answered your question or not but I hope it helps you in your decision, RC helicopters are a huge investment and fun to talk about so it's fun for me to try and help.
Have a great day Cute Fox! I'm sure what you decide will be perfect for you!

@@kingfamilyrc5376 Wow, thank you for this big reply and some story :) nice to hear that you are excited for me, haha! I'm quite excited for myself too. Not sure if i mentioned, but i'm not really new in RC hobby, i fly RC airplanes since 2010, both styles, regular and FPV (i guess you know what it is), but for few recent years i didn't fly much. Planned to fly active this summer, got new hardware, did all preparations, but damn, now these helicopters took my interest haha, and i'm not even sure if i will be flying plane much now. I don't have a programmable transmitter, for the airplane it was enough of 4 channel non-programmable transmitter. I'm a bit of DIY person, so i thought to modify my transmitter and make own system for flying heli, but then thought that for being for 10+ years in the hobby, i maybe should at least once buy a good RC transmitter with screen :) I already ordered Radiolink AT10 transmitter on Banggood but for some reason they still didn't ship it, so i will see if i will cancel it and buy something else.
I live on the edge of my town so i actually got some fields and places to fly. Summer is upcoming and i plan to go outside a lot! Though, sometimes it is easier to just go to the other room and fly there a mini heli :D also we often have winds, which is annoying. But right now i try to not fly my fixed pitch heli much, i afraid to get bad habits from it, like, you know, with such helis you have to keep pushing stick to the side, while with 3d helis you just do slight movement to the side and then back to the centre. That's actually where i afraid to crash my 470LP if i will try it first. Yes i had that silly idea to try 470LP straight without any simulator, like, to test myself and feel the first experience with a real heli instead of simulator haha.
I actually was considering maybe to buy a Blade 230 heli, it looks nice, but then i realized that it comes with non-programmable transmitter, so i dropped that idea off. I'm aware of crashes budget and considered it already. I think it is kinda 'acceptable' for 470LP, main blades cost around 22 dollars, tail boom around 10 dollars, main gear and other small stuff is around 10 too, so i guess crash can cost below 50 dollars, not too bad.
Well my fixed pitch heli model is Eachine E129, yes it have stability i guess. But now after many crashes it can't hover straight, it starts to strafe, makes side movements in a circle form (nose is straight of course), i noticed that the swashplate got a lot of backlash, so maybe it influences somehow. Anyway, even then i still can fly it, it is quite predictable and not so chaotic. I'm aware that 470LP will not have stabilization, i don't want it anyway. Going to learn as it is.
I agree, it is hard to give me a clear answer, but reading your thoughts and your personal experience is still helpful and good for better understanding. If i will go first with 470LP then for sure i will record a video of my very first CP heli flight haha. Recording K100S flight probably would be not so impressive, but i will see. There are much more things i could say but i guess this reply is already too big, not sure how good CZcams handles big replies :) but anyway, thank you very much for your interest!

Oh wow yeah I didn't realize you already had 13 years of flight experience!! That's awesome! That should help a lot! I had zero flight experience to start and that's probably why it was so intimidating for me! Helicopters are so interesting! I love them more than my planes for sure! I still love my planes but helicopters are way more fun for me! The RadioLink AT10 looks like a great radio for the price! I've also heard RadioMaster TX16s is a good affordable radio, plus it has open TX so it will communicate with all receivers! I want one!
It sounds like with your confidence and your already 13 years of flight experience and your fixed pitch experience you'd probably be fine with the 470LP! Very cool you live by open fields where you can fly a bunch! ..........I also didn't realize the 470LP was so affordable on parts!! You showed me something great! @@kingfamilyrc5376 Haha, well, airplanes are so different from helis, so this experience wasn't helping much. I had to gather variouns info about helis in the past few months because it is so different from planes. But yes some basic knowledges still help like knowing about motors, ESCs, transmitters and receivers, their channels etc., also knowing about LiPos and having smart / professional charger etc. So i guess yes it's still not a start from zero.
Hehe, besides good possibilities of that AT10 transmitter i also pretty much like it's look. So i had to take it instead of something cheaper like FlySky. Yes i saw in the comments someone suggested you the new Radiomaster transmitter :)
I guess Align is much more affordable in general, so maybe that's why parts don't cost too much. Seems for you in USA it is even cheaper than here in Europe, wow :) I'm glad that i showed something new to you haha, i remember you said you want to get 470L one day. I guess 470LP can be a great deal machine for practicing 3d tricks in real life due to cheaper crashes.
Yesterday i again took some indoor flight on fixed pitch heli, and wow, at that moment i thought i really would not mind to get K110S! Even went again back to your video to see how it flies when it is 'tamed'. Guess now i more and more don't mind to start with K110S, but still not sure yet. The most concern i have about K110S is that it doesn't look smooth enough on slow flights or hovering. It rather looks like if it hangs on some little string or thread and does those little wavy movements, or like if someone handles the heli with a hand and simulates the flight haha, not so natural movement, if you know what i mean. It ruins my visual impression compared to my fixed pitch heli, which looks a bit smoother. Though, closer to the end of the video when you flied on a bit higher speed, it looked not so bad. I wonder if lowering RPM by editing throttle curve could help to make it look even smoother. Also i thought of the idea of maybe putting a bit longer blades on K110S, wonder if it will work and will make it fly nicer. I already ordered some K120 blades from China just in case haha. They are about 1 inch longer.
I guess i'm also afraid to start with K110S because i worry that maybe flight on 470LP will be not as much impressive and surprising as it could be if i would try it first. I wonder how you actually felt during switching between helis?
Yes i for sure will share the video with you :) i probably will need to make a new channel on CZcams for heli or RC adventures, because this one is rather for anonymous commenting and watching, not planned to post here. Thank you too :) seems it's mutual interest in talking, so i guess maybe later we could use e-mails, if you want.

Yes very true helis are very different from planes, I've had to do so much more studying for helis than planes. I did helis first then went to planes, and planes seemed very easy to fly after learning helis first. I've heard people say that the other way around, going from plane then to learning heli is harder and I believe it. Love the challenge of the helicopter!
I agree that the 470 would be a great practice heli and to be honest the more I talk with you the more the 470 moves up on my toy priority list! I knew about the 470 before and wanted one someday but didn't look that closely at it but wow it's so very capable, affordable, powerful and turns out cheap to crash!
I do love my K110s and I believe it could totally be tamed down more. The small helis are a lot twitchier and more unnatural looking but, with my Nano and my DX8G2 radio it looks a lot smoother, but I've spent some time dialing it in, I'm sure the K110S will be the same after getting it set how you like. For the best feel and realistic looks though bigger is better for sure, I can't wait to try a 700!! I bet they feel great!! I have some free time in the next few days, I'll see if we can get the K110S to fly smoother, also I'll try some outside flying with some inverted and see how that goes. Give me a day or two and I'll get that vid done and out. 🎬👍
I still wish I could say get one or the other but the best solution is to get both!! Hahaha! But seriously the little helis are very impressive for what they are. I remember when I first got my Nano I flew it 15-20 times a day and was loving being able to fly a full CP heli in the house and wondered why I didn't get one sooner! This was after I had my 330X already and I still loved switching to the little heli! We also have a fixed pitch Blade 120S in our fleet and the Nano and K110S are WAAAY more fun to fly and much more impressive in every way than the 120S! I don't think you'll be disappointed in the K110S at all, the big CP helis and small CP helis are both impressive in their own way. I love flying them all, they all make me excited! Going from my 330, 230, Nano to my big 550 was still so very exciting as well, they're all so much fun!
I had an old guy (now my friend) tell me a couple of years ago when I started flying, "If you get the big powerful ones first, you have nothing to look forward to in the future" and I agree with that to a point, but I also know that I am a full helicopter addict now and I look forward to any future helicopter purchase big or small! I still get very excited with the idea of any heli!
I get typing and going on about things and before I know it my msg is huge again hahaha! For sure e-mail works great for me! My e-mail is in the about tab on our home page! Thanks again Cute Fox! Have a great day!
