Ali, I really appreciate your videos. I consider you a goto source for anything RC Heli as well as OpenTx. I have a TX16s as well, a bit intimidating at first, but amazing versatility once you get fluent. Especially the bang for the buck
Oh have an XK 110S on order, will modify my OMP M1 settings to my preferences. I check yours for throttle and pitch curve recs and then tweak. Wanted something cheaper and smaller for beginning 3D practice

I recently received, setup and have flown, Still tweaking settings, I like similar flight characteristics for all my helis. Other small ones are T15 and OMP M1. The 110S is one hot little bird, started adding dual rates. Anyway, great bang for the buck, much better than a Nano S3 IMHO, and very tough

Thank you for this very informative video. You did an excellent job of explaining this process in a simple and straight forward manner. I have been flying the XK K110 for awhile, but recently purchased the XK K110S. Other than the larger servos I don't know what changes were made, but it seems to fly much better than the older 110 in my humble opinion. Both are great for learning to fly CP.

Updated/improved software in the flight controller. They probably added stabilization to both right side up and upside down flight to make it easier for a beginner to do simple 3D.

you mean a tutorial? Not necessary. just go to special functions, choose a switch and its position the sound should be, next choose play track and then from list choose sound. download sounds for Opentx online.
Good job on this. I use the SE switch for flight modes. Each throttle curve are one value: e.g. throttle cut: -100, FM1 30, FM2 60 and FM3 80. Like you, I use SB switch for gyro. My throttle cut switch is SF.

@@alishanmao I sure did, this is really helpful content. Have you tried binding your bigger 3d heli's to the tx16s? You're really good at figuring out the features on that radio, I am still struggling to bind DSMX quads with mine. Have you tried the small align trex 3d heli? It'd be interesting to compare align to the cheaper brands as they were the best brand back when I was flying my 3d heli ( elfite blade 450x with spektrum controller)
I'd also like to see you do an auto rotation with your big heli and your advice on safe takeoffs and landings with them because once crash will cause serious damage, especially when compared to a modern 5 inch bnf quad like a roma or a nazgul. Thanks, I really like your vids!
@@bobmarkson5343 I fly my KDS Innova 550 with TX16S OpenTx. So far no issues. for auto rotation, best to practice on flight simulator a lot and then at low altitude with your heli. so you know your heli and its responses. I try to avoid that, as long as i do not need it.
For take off and landings and flight, take it seriously, best to have spotters with you who can keep an eye around when you fly. bigger helis can cause serious damage, injuries and fatalities even. so you have to be very careful when flying with bigger helis. practice more for take off and landing and make them as smooth as possible

I have a question regarding 3D and 6G mode when I switch from one mode to another the gyroscope always remains activated on my k110 even with the original radio do I need to do something to make it work? active or deactivated?

You really helped me out. Got her flying today! Now how do I program my old Wltoys v977 and AS350. I know they run on the WLToys protocol, but something is weird with the programming. Can’t get idle up to work and in normal mode the motor cuts out on full throttle. Any suggestions?

Thank you Ali, I'm learning your config to setup my EDGE TX with K110S by in the mix channel page. However, I do have one question on the gryo self stable setup. I believe K110S come with the self-stable function and can you show me how to setup it in the TX16S. Someone said just source any switch to CH5 and the self stable function will be automatically turn on. Can you help to confirm? This is a very useful function to noobies like me.
Yes, exactly. you set channel 5 for flight modes, first is stabilized 6G and then other is Idle up 1 and 2 using 3 position switch

Great video as usual. 👌One thing I am not sure is correct is the Pitch curves you set up on SB (Son of a B'arch) 😂You have normal curve with switch up and 3D on Switch down. When you set it you said that the middle position was Ok as it would not send anything to the Heli. From my understanding that is true but.....flicking the switch from up to centre will turn off the pitch normal curve. And leave no curve? Same in reverse from 3D pitch to centre. The same can be said with the gyro as it uses the same switch. Can you check this and confirm? I have my XK helis set to my Futaba T18SX not my T16S Max. If you throw the switch quickly I guess you won't notice a change, so can you switch to centre and tell us what happens when it stays there.?

I tested it. now for me it works. when SB is in the middle nothing changes, heli stays in 6G Mode and normal pitches. as soon as it hits 3rd Position it switches to 3D. same when going back. no issues as all. i flew it yesterday outdoors and it was fun. will do some videos later

Hello! When the throttle hold is on, the timer should stop, but it continues to tick for you, this is not entirely correct, since it is better to keep the throttle stick in the middle when crashing. I have a problem and I’m not sure if it’s something in the programming of the radio or the heli but when I set it up this way it does not move the swash plate up and down in idle up mode and When I spool the motor up in normal mode it shuts off at about 20% throttle
But when I put it in idle up it winds up and when the stick is barley over half throttle the motor shuts off. I’m lost

I have programmed Micro BeastX on my 550 size heli using this radio. video is on my channel
i went into imputs and turned my channels down to 70 percent , acepted the gyro channel . that stayed at 100 just did my curves and being i had the channels turned way down, i never fool with expo ; it gave it a good feel just ajusting the bandwidtf of the channels

Hi. finally made it to work with zorro 4in1(for the internal module, do not use lbt firmware, otherwise the futaba protocoll will not show; also had to make a RF adjustment to 75 because is was not binding properly); do you have any update info/refined setup for this same heli? thank you

@@mikepdel its in the gyro settings,. if yours can't flip that means your gyro settings are wrong. once gyro switches + or - values it will be able to flip

I have been through your video so many times and everything is correct...Aileron/roll is stuck in channel monitor at -100 or plus 100 if reversed in outputs???
you can reverse outputs. those monitors just show the moves. as far as your heli flies and works well. don't care about what monitor is showing on channels

4-1 is best. rest of the protocols you can easily buy modules.
Also man you do a couple not mistakes but some settings can be done with lot less creating or setting other things....but even Also... radiomaster t16 has already two models helicopters and you can copy that factory Heli settings and just do two three changes and Ready in two minutes... like omphobby m2 for example it's ready installed in radio... you can also use that for other helis by copying the model rename it and that's it....in this video your spend half hour when even with edgetx using touchscreen is awesome....i don't know if models there come empty but here hsd already airplane settings Heli settings etc....best regards Petros

I have the very first version of RadioMaster TX16S that did not come with any model settings pre set. also i have heli setup in my radio and i Could have just copied it but then people will not understand how to perform the setup from scratch. that is why I did this detailed video to give people a setup they can do from scratch and understand all the concept.

yes you can, but i am not sure if internal RF will bind to spektrum receiver? but if I missed it and there is spectrum rx support then you can bind and fly without issues. range is good

a little difference, concepts are same. so you can easily setup. i am happy with opentx, i do not need edgetx. I am actually moving to Futaba, Planning to Get T16IZ

I setup my xk k 100 helicopter the same way as you , and when I fly my xk k100 helicopter I get more negative pitch but not much positive pitch. How can I get the same pitch on negative and positive pitch.
check the gear first. sometimes when the main shaft is slipped up, on gear it will give you negative pitch and won't take off. fix the gear and then re set the pitch curves.
@@alishanmao it is a new helicopter, I have not crash it yet ,but the gear is ok. If I put more postive on the setup . The tail of the helicopter will blow out. So if I setup the pitch at 85 the helicopter tail will not blow out.Thanks for your solutions :)

I was wondering that your setup is totally different as couple years before.....
I regognized "white" version of K110 (not K110S) has also 2 versions in the controller setup!
Old version throttle can be regulated from -100 to +100. (0 to 100)
Newer version have only from -100 to +40 (0 to 70). From +40 to +100 no increase of throttle.
That is crazy.
Improvements on this heli:
a) GNB 520mah HV LIPO, +0,15 Volt increase the RPM, Lipo fits without issues
b) Change plug to GNB27, 0,05 to 0,1 Volt more efficency
c) Change tail blade to Blade mCPX/2 (need small driller, drilling by hand to open hole 0,1mm)
4 years of K110 experience:
- Number 1 end of lifetime.
- Number 2 not found in deep gras
- Number 3 left in a tree
- Number 4 with black motor
- Number 5 and 6 with purple head on the motor. (since 1 to 1,5 years available)
- Number 4 and the 5/6 fly different.
Now I understand why :)

whoops are super easy. just setup plane model. no need setting up any curves or stuff like that. then setup with betaflight

@@nickrich710 Check my new FPV mini Airplane videos. first time its best to use a smaller RC Airplane and fly short distance within 100 to 500 meters only. practice more. keep your eyes on horizons and land, dont' climb too high. learn to control via FPV view and keeping good cruise and altitude.

I want a input(hold mode) prevails over others (idle1,idle2)
you will have to program them by using over ride funtion on a switch that keeps helicopter in one mode only unless its flipped than other values are passed

On mixing, it looks like your Gyro populates itself. I have a Zorro 4in1 and I am unsure how to get Gyro on the Mixes screen.

Yes, the menus are the exact same. However I don't know how you populated gyro onto the new screen at number 5?

I just go my k110s and set it up with my tx16s but mine wil not go in 3g mode. The red light does not go in blinking status. Do i have a faulty heli?
3G or 3D Mode? its all in gyro positive and negative settings. you must make sure you switch to right gyro mode to get to 3D mode
@@alishanmao Sorry, I ment 3D mode. Mine won’t do that. It stays on self level mode. Channel output is correct from -100 to +100 on channel 5 when I flip the switch.

I gave it a shot and loved it especially the touchscreen...you maybe not Very good pilot on helis but I love your job and videos when you have helis And maybe it's time try freestyle racing drones ( I have More than 20 helis 450 to 700 size mostly Goblins and Mikados and some align.....i loved xk110 cause it's extremely durable... does almost all 3D manuvers and it's cheap... I was going for xk110s but it was in out of stock.... And now the prices are almost double...i m pro pilot anymore at helis which I think it's the most difficult to fly and drones with the DJI goggles)....all perfect
