"It's a song that features John Sykes on guitar, while the rest of us look meekly on." "Whitesnake" vocalist David Coverdale, introducing "Crying In the Rain" at the Rock In Rio Festival (Jan 1985)
If you like this, we gotta get him onto some Dokken. Anything from Tooth and Nail, Under Lock and Key, or Back for the Attack. I am partial to T&N myself.
The band that had the biggest influence on me growing up, especially George Lynch's guitar style. Nightrider, Just Got Lucky, The Hunter, Kiss Of Death(or anything from Back for the Attack) are all great.
The woman is Tawny Kitaen, David Coverdale’s girlfriend at the time. You’re right, he is very similar to Robert Plant. He used to be one of the singers for Deep Purple. Thanks for your reaction!
Love this song soooooooo much. These were the salad days. 🤩 p.s. I wanted to be Tawny Kitaen when I was in high school. It didn't work out well for either of us. 😅
Tawny Kitaen, she was in a few Whitesnake videos as she dated David Coverdale, lead singer and creator of the band Whitesnake. This is my fav Whitesnake song. David is easily a top 5 rock vocalist, and arguably the best to ever do it. Thanks for yet another awesome upload my friend!
You should check out "Love Ain't No Stranger", "Slow & Easy", "Deeper The Love", "Slide It In", "Now You're Gone" & "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City" by Whitesnake. All great!!!
Yes, Whitesnake, what a great reaction and band. They have the greatest, sexiest songs of all times. Coverdale what a great voice. Thank you for bringing back those classics. Always thumbs, keep up the awesome work.
I saw White Snake in 1988 in Chicago when they opened up for Motley Crue during the "Girls, Girls, Girls Tour". That concert was great because both bands were in their prime and I was fortunate to see them.
Yeah, Robert Plant dislikes David Coverdale, calls him "David Coverversion", lol. But Coverdale's been around since his days with Deep Purple. Another Whitesnake song worth checking out it "Slow And Easy".
One of my favorite bands. You should give a listen to Bad Boys, Crying In The Rain, Slow & Easy, Children Of The Night, Is This Love, and Here I Go Again. @5:09 - "Who is she?" That's actress Tawny Kitaen. She's probably best known for her role in the Tom Hanks movie, "Bachelor Party". She's also known as being the former Mrs. David Coverdale (Whitesnake's lead singer)
You mentioned Led Zeppelin, try the duo Coverdale/Page. Their song 'Pride and Joy' is a good place to start. Can not forget Deep Purple with David Coverdale. Start with ' Burn'.
Like you, I initially grew up on R&B, Funk, and the Dance music on the radio. Older siblings exposed me to Jazz and Pop music. Picking up saxophone is what widened my musical tastes. Anything with a horn on it I wanted to play it. Going to an integrated high school with MTV blowing up was how my Rock ears were formed. Scorpions, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Journey and many others is what made me love many more music genres. Glad to see your ears mature and enjoy all of this great music you've made missed over the years!
Great White has some great songs... Once Bitten twice Shy is horrible, hated that song way back and still can't change the station quick enough when I hear it.
I saw Whitesnake and Motley Crew in '87 on this tour, watching from the floor, when who should walk across the floor headed to one of the side exits but Tawny herself, so I grabbed a pen and something to write on from a friend and walked over and got her autograph. Still have it to this day! Man, was she Gorgeous!
as a teenager....holy crap.....the amount of time I spent staring at the beautiful Tawny Kitaen in this video....totally loved Whitesnake....their follow up albums have been good as well, but none touched this one...loved the comment about how you love going back in time with us....my kid asked me the other day why I enjoy watching you go through videos so much...I think part of it is the joy you take in discovering music....and the other part of it I take joy in seeing you discover the stuff I grew up listening to. Love you and these videos man. Thank you again.
The guitar track on this is epic (John Sykes). The sound, the riffs, the attitude/performance...and it's matched perfectly with Coverdale's vox. Whitesnake's best.
Loved This Song, But at one point the Lead singer David Coverdale had said on an interview that Led Zeppelin would never be remembered and Robert Plant Had NO TALENT and that he (D. Coverdale) was the voice !! After that remark, I didn't pay much attention to them anymore, There will Never be another Robert Plant, not even close !!! Although David was a good singer and frontman, I can't understand why he would say that. I saw the interview myself ... This is a Great tune though ! Ty :) BTW The woman in the Video is actress Tawny Kitaen.

The woman is Tawny Kitaen. She passed away earlier this year. Was married to the lead singer here David Coverdale. Might have seen her in the movie Bachelor Party. Had a long affair with OJ Simpson while he was married to Nichole.
@@chercee Not that I know of. David Coverdale seemed to just sick of the music business, and the demands of the "hair band" life in general. He was having relationship problems, of course, could that have had an impact on his state of mind? Sure, I suppose. But I've never heard of his marriage to Tawny causing any trouble in the band.
You should check out "Side it in" or "Love ain't no stranger" by these guys, a little older than this song but you see where they came from !!!! Love your channel brother!!!!
You are exactly right. I am 58 so I was in my 20's when this came out, and this is the very same look all my friends and I adopted. With the long hair and tight jeans it was easy to get girls. (A fast car helped too, I drove a Big Block el Camino). The scene around the Front Range in Colorado was crazy. There were lots of clubs in the Denver area that had a vibrant collection of local cover bands that did all the hot new tunes, and this one was a favorite around here. I was gonna comment the same two songs.
Slow An Easy is THE JAM
Nice. Someone else actually knows about Whitesnake pre-Tawny
Nick I was also gonna request She’s a Woman. Very underrated song that I just started listening to.
Dean Smith hell yeah bro. Blues Rock Whitesnake is better than hair metal Whitesnake
Consider that singer David Coverdale was the singer for this band 'Whitesnake' after being lead singer of 'Deep Purple'. Not a bad resumé?
No shit? I never knew that!
I love everything about Whitesnake. I was fortunate enough to see them in concert back in the 80s. So much fun!
I’m still waiting to see his reaction to Cheap Trick.
Gonna Raise Hell!
Surrender !
I want you... To want... Me!..
"It's a song that features John Sykes on guitar, while the rest of us look meekly on." "Whitesnake" vocalist David Coverdale, introducing "Crying In the Rain" at the Rock In Rio Festival (Jan 1985)
He got fired after recording this album.
@@Lance37a Grrr! And Sykes is STILL pissed about it, as well he should be.
One of so many iconic 80's hairbands with so many hits. Check out Motley Crue's Girls, girls, girls
If you like this, we gotta get him onto some Dokken. Anything from Tooth and Nail, Under Lock and Key, or Back for the Attack. I am partial to T&N myself.
Mr. Scary
@@kperry1969 YES!
The band that had the biggest influence on me growing up, especially George Lynch's guitar style. Nightrider, Just Got Lucky, The Hunter, Kiss Of Death(or anything from Back for the Attack) are all great.
Rokkin' with Dokken!!!!!
Wow! Met Don Dokken. Love them! Under Lock and Key with Lynch on guitar? LynchMob was a great spin-off band.
The woman is Tawny Kitaen, David Coverdale’s girlfriend at the time. You’re right, he is very similar to Robert Plant. He used to be one of the singers for Deep Purple. Thanks for your reaction!
Love this song soooooooo much. These were the salad days. 🤩
p.s. I wanted to be Tawny Kitaen when I was in high school. It didn't work out well for either of us. 😅
WALL!
Yeah, I hear you. By boyfriend at the time thought I looked like Lita Ford, so I was rockin' that look for a while.
@@Revelwoodie I think our friend Jamel should try reacting to "Kiss Me Deadly". I always thought she was super cool in that video. 😉
Antoinette Lopes - Lita!!
@@antoinettelopes ... yeah...I Wanted her when I was in high school... didn't work out for me either...lol.
That's Tawny Kitaen. She was in that movie "Bachelor Party"
And David Coverdale's wife at one time
She passed away recently, poor child.
The girl in the video was his girlfriend at the time. David Cloverdale was also in Deep Purple. He's a legendary singer.
Tawny Kitaen, the ultimate rocker chick! She was absolutely stunning back in the day!
TRUE 😀
@@sarahp9086 she was a psycho who attacked him physically lol. That's why the divorce.
@@paulmahon1613 Exactly...didn't she beat him with a high heel? She is a nutbag
@@paulmahon1613 I was referring to purely superficial things, she had The Look. Utter psycho though, as many celebrities are proving to be.
One of the best songs ever written.
Yes, Whitesnake, what a great reaction and band. They have the greatest, sexiest songs of all times. Coverdale what a great voice. Thank you for bringing back those classics. Always thumbs, keep up the awesome work.
"Who is she?"....a question every red blooded teenage boy in the 80s asked! TAWNY!!!!!!! probably the most iconic video vixen of the time.
I always thought that woman in Warrants Cherrie Pie video trumped Tawny. Just one mans opinion.
Fish or Die lol Bobbi Brown! Haha
That's Tawny Kitaen, and David Coverdales wife
@@fishordie1992 I cast my vote for tawny then but Bobbie now she is still hot
She "hung out" with RATT before Coverdale found her. She dated Robbin Crosby and appeared on their first couple of album covers.
“It was all about the hair” - David Coverdale
You know you've hit the serious 80s street when they bring out electro violins...
NOT violins. John Sykes on guitar.
Zeppelin Live; Jimmy Page bow solo at 10 minutes; great video.... czcams.com/video/ZQgYn23Xvck/video.html
Slow and Easy is an absurdly underrated song.
I have the rainbow cd greatest hitsCd that has a rock n ROLL family tree history and Coverdale is included🎼🎶🎵🙏💪🇬🇧🍻🍻
They have a lot of good ones. I have their greatest hits CD somewhere; it's worth having.
This whole album is amazing front to back 🔥
Love Children of the Night. Caught my mom singing it when I came out of my room once. I knew they secretly liked my music! =D
Every song on this album is a banger 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I saw Whitesnake in concert back in the early 90’s. They were amazing! Love the 80s and 90s Hair Bands! Love this song!
Jamel! 🙌 *That Smell* and *Tuesdays Gone* By
*Lynyrd Skynyrd* They are 💯🔥🔥😎🙌🙏
My all time favourite band!!
Both of those are amazing choices..
Jmael may have done Tuesday's Gone, but if not, should get on it immediately.
Curtis Loew!!!
Definitely That Smell !!
You mentioned Led Zeppelin, try the duo Coverdale/Page. Their song 'Pride and Joy' is a good place to start. Can not forget Deep Purple with David Coverdale. Start with ' Burn'.
That breakdown at 6:00 though....still gives me goosebumps!
The bow on the guitar like a fiddle, the hair and of course Tawny Kitaen in her day!!! Banger for sure!! And OMG the hair killin it!!!
All I got to say is whitesnake song
“ slow and easy “
Tawny Kitaen was in “Bachelor Party” with Tom Hanks. Hilarious ‘80s flick. I think she modeled too.
Can't be the 80s without WHITESNAKE. Coverdale what a damn vocalist
Great reaction!! This is one of my FAVORITE songs😊
If you've ever seen the Tom Hank's movie Bachelor Party, you may recognize Tawny Kitaen from that.
She also cohosted "America's Funniest People" with Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone from "Full House")
Meow......
Kitty likes to purr.
Oh Sht, sure was. Nvr put 2&2...
She was a video vixen! Beautiful!
The guitar solos in the end of the tune are killin
Like you, I initially grew up on R&B, Funk, and the Dance music on the radio. Older siblings exposed me to Jazz and Pop music. Picking up saxophone is what widened my musical tastes. Anything with a horn on it I wanted to play it. Going to an integrated high school with MTV blowing up was how my Rock ears were formed. Scorpions, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Journey and many others is what made me love many more music genres. Glad to see your ears mature and enjoy all of this great music you've made missed over the years!
Lizzie Hale covers this song and absolutely KILLS it!!
Scorpions: The Zoo, No One Like You, Still Loving You ... Your next rabbit hole!
I've been waiting for his reaction to those songs as well. Scorpions for me were one of best rock bands ever especially in concert!
The scorpions rock
My favorite.. “ Love ain’t no stranger “... must react to that one....
I think it's one of Whitesnake's better songs.
Here I go again on my own. My personal theme song.
Mine too
one of the best bands of the 80s
Indeed we did look like that in the 80s! I'm 52 but I was a teen during that time. Big hair bright colors for clothes. Nothing like it!
A couple from this era to check out. Great white “once bitten twice shy”, Ratt “way cool junior “
David Sanders I would rather have Wanted Man by Ratt, but either would work.
You're In Love or Lay It Down would be good Ratt tunes for Jamel to check out, too.
Great White has some great songs... Once Bitten twice Shy is horrible, hated that song way back and still can't change the station quick enough when I hear it.
Chest Rockwell to each his own.
“When you have hair like that nothing else matters.” 😂
Do folks confuse you with THE Pat Metheny? Great name.
Ty :) BTW The woman in the Video is actress
Tawny Kitaen.
Teena Raven Snow The nerve! I ❤️ Robert Plant. David does a pretty good imitation, but please - who’s he think he’s kidding saying that Led Zeppelin would never be remembered and Robert Plant had no talent! What a delusional wanna be! Where the hell is David now anyway? Hope he invested well. 😂
To me David Coverdale was always a less screechy Robert Plant. Never really cared for Plant honestly
The woman is Tawny Kitaen. She passed away earlier this year. Was married to the lead singer here David Coverdale. Might have seen her in the movie Bachelor Party. Had a long affair with OJ Simpson while he was married to Nichole.
Whitesnake is one of my top 5 Bands that has influenced me throughout my life. They helped inspire some of my writing.
Jeezus-John Sykes on guitar , still gets my blood boiling.
Zeppelin Live; Jimmy Page bow solo at 10 minutes; great video.... czcams.com/video/ZQgYn23Xvck/video.html
This is some of the best guitar work of the 80's. An absolute crime we didn't get more of Coverdale and Sykes together.
Saw them in the 80s they opened up for Motley Crue at Madison Square Garden love their music
I saw that tour in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Yup, great tour. Saw them and MC at the Joe in Detroit.
Bad Boys, Don't Turn Away and Crying in the rain are all underrated bangers
"Got that man on the moon like he's ET!" - hahahaha!!!! Love it!
Try "Is This Love." Tawny Kitaen is also in that video (she was married to David Coverdale).
She was also in a B-movie "Witchboard"
@@seanfitzgerald1549 I saw that, lol. I can't believe there's another person that saw that.
@@seanfitzgerald1549 and....the Perils of Gwendolyne.
Wasn't she the Yoko of Whitesnake?
@@chercee Not that I know of. David Coverdale seemed to just sick of the music business, and the demands of the "hair band" life in general. He was having relationship problems, of course, could that have had an impact on his state of mind? Sure, I suppose. But I've never heard of his marriage to Tawny causing any trouble in the band.
You should check out "Side it in" or "Love ain't no stranger" by these guys, a little older than this song but you see where they came from !!!! Love your channel brother!!!!
I was 11 when this song dropped
Dude - the guy playing the guitar with the bow!!
rock!
The whole decade was one big party for me. The phrase "Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll" pretty accurately sums up the 80's for me. Best time of my life. Man I want a Time Machine!
