LOL now that I think about it, I think I got that expression from watching Late Night with Conan so many times back when I was 10 and up and hearing max say it.
This brought back so many memories watching Late Night.

Story has it that Max Weinberg first met Conan on the streets of New York, outside Carnegie Deli. Conan hadn't even begun his TV show yet, but offered Max Weinberg an audition. Max assembled The Max Weinberg 7, and the rest is history. It's kind of amazing how that band just gelled with the show and each other, and guys like Max, La Bamba and Pender became larger-than-life characters, expanding beyond being musicians.
That WAS good acting by Pender.

Max Weinberg is the only late night TV band member I've ever seen who also looks like he works on Wall Street.

I know I'm a year late but it was widely believed that Joel had either retired or simply didn't want to move to Los Angeles. However more recently, Joel has said that he was not invited to join the Tonight Show as apparently NBC would not pay for both Joel and Andy. It seems Conan had to pick between Joel and Andy, with Conan picking Andy.

I sat four feet away from Max when I went to a taping of Late Night and I couldn't believe my eyes. I've never seen a musician that good, least of all that close.
Sometimes when I need something to cheer me up, I tend to come back to this video. Damn I miss Max and Conan together. Anyone noticed Max was playing the late night intro

Yeahhh!! No offense to Andy, but it's the time when Andy left Late Night that I really got into Conan. That's when Max and Joel were put into a lot of bits and they were hilarious classics. Can not beat Max as a creepster lol.

thetylife They did a lot of that stuff even when Andy was there. Just watch the fake public service announcements they did ("The More You Know"). Conan, Andy and Max each had one every time they did it. And Max's PSAs were always creepy.

Been playing drums since the 6th grade. When I was in high school half the reason I watched Conan every night was to watch Max play the drums. This was so epic to watch last night!
