I really enjoyed the colour theory and eye shape tutorial segments of this video. It would be great to have more content like that. That's what most beauty youtube videos are missing these days. They are product heavy. I want information heavy. Also: I'm going to try "help" to curb some whining in my 2.5 year old. And no, they never say what they need help with lol. Thank you

Love this concept for a video...and especially learning about how/why things can go wrong and what you can or can't do about it. I also loved the breakdown about the shape of your eye and how to play to it's strengths. Very inciteful! I'm going to pull up some Wayne Goss and do some research. I'm still trying to figure out the best diagram for my eye shape. But I'm getting there! And these kind of videos really help.
You also solidified that I really do need to get that ABH palette. And I'm strongly considering the Hindash. Inspired by HLP and Lauren Mae, I used my Sidney Grace singles to dupe the vibes of almost all of VB lidlusters. I think I've got a pretty good match for the new one. Inspired by how you used the lidluster for a touch of nuance in today's look, I'm going to try using it in the same way.
Thank you so much! I don't say this often enough, but I have learned so much and have really leveled up my makeup game from watching your videos. From color theory and learning what's "at home" on my face based on my undertones has added so much depth and nuance to what I do--and dont--to my face has made such a difference. I love how you went through what you do for your eye shape. I also have close set and deep set eyes. It’s rough figuring out what you can do and what tutorials and looks don’t work for me.

Colours change on me depending on the time of year. In winter in the UK, there light seems to pull everything cooler. My own skin tone helps, too (more vs less tanned). But it seems to apply to colours elsewhere, too
That's absolutely the case where I live. The light here is very blue most of the year and shades everything cool-toned.
Have you been liking/using your Olivia Palermo palette? I don't think I've heard you mention it, since you reviewed it.
playing with my makeup is my favorite thing, and seeing other people play with their collection is so nice and soothing. I love this!

Hey I know you love love love the kosas powder, I just wanted you to know I just tried the physicians formula butter powder and it gives a very similar effect to the kosas though I do have oily combo skin.

Hey Kackie! I have a random question. Or for anyone else who wants to answer… how do you deal with variations in your skintone when choosing a base shade. I generally wear light-medium coverage for the summer if it matters. My forehead, chin, lower neck and chest are a shade darker than my cheeks and upper neck (the part that doesn’t get as much sun)… if I use the lighter shade everywhere I tend to look like a ghost 😂 and if I use the darker shade it’s almost too much! What do I do?! Anyone else have this problem?
Totally! I recommend using something like the fenty body sauce or drink elephant di bronzi drops to adjust your shade as needed. I think elf makes some adjusters too!

I wish I’d understood how drastically different eye looks translate when I first got into makeup. My eyes are suuuuper deep set and smallish and I’d see ppl quickly blend a transition color and call it a day and I’m like why is it taking me 37 mins to 1- make it look blended and 2- get a shape that doesn’t look like a 4 year old drew it. And throw in maturing skin, my giant browbone always looked harsh and unblended and unflattering. Eye makeup is sooooo much more fun now bc I understand what looks good.
Mario’s brand is truly unique, I will say!
I use a Chanel bronzer and it always reminds me of Sunflowers cologne- circa 1995.
God I want that Isamaya palette so bad I can't even tell you. Those mucky, inky colours -- the essence of my being. Doesn't ship to India, though, so I'm out of luck.
Btw: in Mario's own demo video for the bronzers, he says you're _supposed_ to swirl/mix the three "stripes" together.

So the critique about your eye looks following the same formula….isn’t that kinda what we ALL do! We learn what works on our own eye shape and rinse and repeat that placement, changing it up with colors/textures whatever. I think people would legit complain about anything….can’t win on the internet…lol

Especially in summer foundation seems to break on and around my nose .. my nose looks oily even though I am priming and setting my makeup and I hate that :( do you think the Chanel foundation could be right
Not sure! I don't have that problem, but it might be skin prep too?
