Put some grease on the terminals to ward off future corrosion.

@@bradhodgkinson7996 That certainly wouldn't hurt anything. I never do though unless I'm concerned about the future of terminals. A quick scrub clean with a battery terminal brush will help ensure a good connection and clean off any corrosion. I worked as a tech at a VW dealership for 11 years and we never used grease on terminals unless they were in bad shape, never had any issues so I have always been a bit on the fence about it. Really you just need to replace a battery if it leaking acid. Thanks for watching!

What? No mention of coding a new battery into the ECU? Maybe this year VW doesn't need it, but if you're trying to show people how simple a battery change is, you have missed a vital step. Maybe you don't know that failure to code a new battery into a vehicle that needs it will destroy a new battery in a very short time.

@@einfelder8262 I was a VW tech at a dealership for a long time and coding a battery to an ECU is news to me. Never heard of that. Now scanning for codes, resetting the throttle body adaptions and resetting the radio stations is something that can be done.
Maybe that's something on new models, but no such thing exists on vehicles my age. You certainly won't destroy a battery by changing it. I didn't even reset the throttle body adoptions on mine and it's fine.
The point of the video is just a basic how to change a battery. There is obviously slight variations for different models, but this is a generic overview for how to get it done. Like I said though, in all my years a have never heard of coding a battery to an ECU.
      Thanks for watching!

@@sergeantzoomie In all your years you've never heard of battery coding? WTF? - I'm 73 years old and I know about it. Have you heard of Google? It's fairly new, but you can search "battery coding" and learn something you really need to know before you pretend to educate people via CZcams
