Kabru is like an anti-Laios
He's a lot more social, can read other people to manipulate them, and is a people-person. He's more familiar with the human anatomy, hence why he dispatched those corpse-retrievers so easily and figured them out through the illusion. He'd do better as a politician or assassin.
HOWEVER, he is not good against monsters and prefers having more information to act. It's why his party died a lot, because they're mostly dealing with monsters, something he's unfamiliar with.
Whereas Laios can't get along with other people and is very awkward at times. Sometimes honest to a fault as well. However, his obsession with monsters and his ability to form up plans on a pinch is his biggest advantage. He may be weird, but he's a pretty good tactician when it comes down to it. There's a reason why his party is currently the deepest in the dungeon than everyone else. Even before his sister got eaten by the Red Dragon, his party was far ahead of everyone else. His party is actually pretty top-tier, it's just his reputation isn't as glamorous. He's really a wild-card.

You even see it in this episode on how his party reacts to how he deducts Laios' group, its almost very similar to how Laios' party would react whenever he starts going on about monsters.
Kabru is like the players in MMO that are only good at PVP but shity at boss and dungeon fights
So Laios is an Etrian Odyssey player who had remembered the whole bestiary.

These are some cool analogies, the one i thought of back then was that Laios basically memorized every Pokemon types' weaknesses but Kabru just kills the trainer 😅
They got wiped out so much despite Kabru's fighting skills because Kabru's only good at taking down humans, not monsters - he says that he wishes monsters were as easy as humans! (The corpse retrievers aren't necessarily weak)
I love how Kabru's deductions also work as a plot summary for the last cour, they coulda easily used narration or something like that but once again they do expositions in a way that feels very much organic to the world and the story. If this is not good writting, I don't know what is.
I’m so happy the anime kept the silly visual gag of Laios, Senshi and Chilchuck hugging each other.
Kabru is definitely intriguing. Someone to keep an eye out for.

Kablu is weak against monsters but strong against humans, unlike Laios. so he is struggling in dungeon.
What makes this anime great is not only does it break down and put twists on typical fantasy monsters, but typical character archetypes too. Kabru is obviously meant to be the charismatic hero archetype. At first, he is shown to be fairly intelligent and sociable, as goes the archetype, but as we learn more from him, those traits get turned up to eleven. He loves learning about what makes a person tick, and he knows the weak points of human anatomy, showing that his intelligence/charisma may be the result of possibly being a psychopath.
I know it's been said before by other comments about how kabru is more skilled at killing human than monster
But I'll add something here about the way kabru uses his sword, he use half sword techinque which is like using your sword as a mini-spear, this technique focuses on finding the gap of the enemy's armor and stab/thrust them there, it solely focuses on thrusting instead of the usual slashing/cleaving. This technique is great against armored enemy because of that, but the monsters we've seen so far were not armored (beside of the literal living armor), so this technique didn't really give kabru advantage against monsters. I think it's a neat subtle way for the author telling us about how kabru is specialized in killing human instead of monster.
But this techniques is usually used with 2 handed sword, like bastard sword, great sword or longsword, not 1 handed sword that kabru used here, so ig the author just took some liberties on that one.
Technically, Laios’ group _did_ take some of Kabru’s group’s treasure.
A worthwhile chunk of the jewelry and gold Senshi sorted from the Treasure Bugs was real, and he wound up advising them to _throw it away_ without clarifying it was inedible because it was real until it was too late.
Tactically, Marcille probably _could have_ revived them (using her ancient revival), but that was very much a last resort being saved for actual ‘need’ (which happened to come up as the pragmatic solution to reviving Falin, disregarding how it turned out in the end).
Also, Doni’s group was mostly taken out by the Basilisk, Doni and Fionil were the only survivors our main group interacted with, feeding Doni some of the meal with antidote for the venom.
I think Namari's financial problem is that she has to pay for whatever her dad's cause. She seem more desperate than just being poor.

Kabru is extremely strong possibility the strongest character against bipedals. they do eventually explain why he's so powerful later on except for monsters (skill issue) lmaoo.
That would explain why he gets taken out by monsters so much but took out the people like it was the easiest thing ever
Eventually they explain where his training comes from, but I don't think they specify that it was humanoid-specific. It's just kind of implied. You learn a lot about his opinions on monsters, though.

Well not really, in this universe there's no things likes power levels or power scaling. It's more about tactics and individual traits each character or race are proficient at.
Like Kabru said, he can easily understand humans, and human tactics with how he dealt with the illusion ambush.
Monsters on the other hand is something he really does not undestrand. So something like treasure bugs, mermaids and fishmen get to them.
So yeah... Tade... I found my new cutie from the show lol. But yeah, that is some big misunderstanding and misconception from Kabru's party, that might be fun when they meet with the Laios's one.
I can already imagine how great the interactions are gonna be when their parties meet XD

(not the main plot spoiler)Rin is umm, probably not a tsundere. In the manga extra, she was strapped away from her homeland when she was a kid, and her adoptive guardians treated her like a snuggling pet/exotic creature. Tsundere doesn’t want to admit their feelings but craves love, Rin is tired of the dehumanizing love she grew up with.
i think the fastest way to stop a mage from casting spells is to just shut them up somehow…i’m guessing that’s why kabru just straight up kissed rin so she can’t finish her spell (& kill them all) instead of just trying to talk to her first 😂

Kabru is way too OP to join the OG crew. Also I get why he killed those guys but it was so easy for his conscience. Then they threw the bodies in the lake? SHEEESH
He throug them in the lake to feed to thenlocal wild life. As resurrection is possible in the dungeon if you find the body, he makes sure that theirs never will be.

As a manga reader. Kabru essentially becomes one of the protagonist and a very very important character in the rest of the series. This series is about to go wild. And yes he is a fan favorite outside of the main party

8:30 they're not that weak, Kabru said in 7:40 "humans really are easy to kill" as he struggle against monster, which is shown in 17:50, he has great tactic but against human foe not monsters, that also explain how Kabru keeps failing against them.
19:34 Kabru is basically the alter-Laios, one is interested on human overall, people's nature 16:20 and has well relationship with people around, since Laios is crazy for monster overall, their ecology and has well fight sense against monster. Laios remembers a lot trivias about monsters just like Kabru remember everythings about anyone.
My guess is that Rin is in love with Kabru but Kabru isn’t interested, maybe just a bit playful with her feelings but he doesn’t seem into her
