"I'm gonna use a broken card to do broken things" sums this game up pretty well.
So which card was broken... Im generally curious as I don't ant of the cards they played in CEDH ...
@@DUxMORTEM Omnath, Locus of Creation is notoriously powerful, as are most other strong Landfall Commanders.
@@calebbrown1068 but he is not CEDH commander. The only landfall CEDH commander is Toggo&Kodama because of their infinite combo line.
@@DUxMORTEM lol. That's the thing this isn't Competitive Edh. So you won't see anything along the lines of those guys. Omnath is perceived as broken across many tables cause he is considered easy to get off
@@theefiestafetus he also has zero protection and is easy to remove.

Ladee has the kind of enthusiasm everyone should have. She has such positive energy.

It was like 90% Omnath 10% Isshin right from the moment the line up was revealed.
Chainer and Svella had no chance in that pod.
If Ladee was a bit more aggressive towards Jake she might have won.
I literally thought the same thing omnath was Farr too powerful in comparison
Just depends on the builds, honestly. Chainer has a ton of combos even in monoB and access to all the best tutors to pull them...
I’d argue that all sides were building real threats to the board as the game progressed. Ms Danger was only acting as she did as the aggressive deck that coincidentally pushed each player to Omnath’s range.
It just so happens that Omnath slaps on healing, damage ramp and card draw in one giant jelly bean of a package.

Lady definitely would have. She would've whooped Jake pretty easily

I love how Omnath just stood there…menacingly and still won.
But yeah jake actually inspired me to make my own a few months ago and I’ve been enjoying the passive silliness.
The mutation madness even fits to Jakes love of Digimon and I’m all for it.
My favorite alternate to bring people low early is Shaman of Forgotten ways to Biorhythm folks to range for the win.
Turns out clone decks are super busted, especially when the commander is already ridiculously strong.
Well you would need to jump through loopholes to clone it
He’s sort of lucky to hit spark double in starting hands. Only card in deck that give non leg copy
@@thomastesseyre8072 Did he not have Sakashima? He should have. Besides, there's TONS of cards that remove the legendary rule. I have a Koma clones deck built. I can easily have dozens of Komas.

I love how Jimmy played shadow creatures and horsemanship... like 2 of the iconic ways he has lost in Game Knights. Like his thinking is that's not happening on this show anymore. 🤔

@@mmorkinism It's more inconsistent than other variants. Imagine how easy it could be for the deck to brick even without accounting for getting mana screwed or mana flooded.
A turn counter would be sweet on screen somewhere! Extra turns the best thing being made here rn imo

UPDATE: I tried it, but it didn't go well... it turns out that, unlike Omnath, Evelyn needs that vampire subtype when I clone her. 🥲

I’ve been using it to broken effect in my Vadrok Spell Copy deck. It gets silly
It is a well known interaction, mostly for having Kiki-Jiki go infinite on his own.

There was not one counterspell, right? Also very little removal in total
I mean, Omnath was the only one in blue and clearly he didn't need any counters. Lack of any removal for that first cloning of Omnath definitely cost the table though.
Seeing how fast these games are going now makes me miss the old days of EDH. I love the efficiency of everybody's deck but I also miss the big splashy spells of the past and the interaction/response to keep each player in check to avoid any one player from getting out of hand.
This is game knights a show for entertainment. They’re not going to play your typical casual games

Very true, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes to win. That being said i tend to tune whatever deck I'm playing to be efficient at whatever they're trying to do, which leads to faster and faster games.
it's definitely become more and more a game of solitaire, rather than Elder Dragon Highlander. it seems every deck is just based around "going off" as fast as possible and leaving behind interaction to have more synergy/combo pieces.
Jimmy has ONE instant removal card in Baleful Mastery.. I mean what? sure he has 4 creatures with ETBs that remove something, but that's still only 5 cards total that can interact with problematic pieces. and you have to find them in the 99 in the first place.
I kind of miss the times where I played mostly precon, or just shitty designed decks. But my playgroup mostly plays quite the fine-tuned decks nowadays, so I can't really get away with my janky stuff anymore. Now my decent decks cost money :(
Please create more frequent higher power decks like this. It doesn’t even have to be high quality production either. These are so good!!!
Embercleave would be a very nice wincon for Ladee to find with demonic tutor this game!

Well, Time to rebuild my Omnath deck 😁 Mutation feels so underplayed. I only wish the match would have lasted longer to see what Ladee had in store with Isshin. I'm building a deck around him right now
I wouldn't make it a main feature of a deck because there aren't that many black and white "mutants", but I love that Killian's static ability reduces Mutate costs.

Idk if you’d count it but #11 commander extravaganza has a creature played that allows for an extra turn. If you haven’t watched it was good 👍

I mean, it was kind of jank. A couple of removals and board wipes and it gets stuck

funfact about mutate: it does also change the color.
Means if 4 color omnath got mutated by Porcuparrot he is now only red. Pretty important if someone plays with protection and otherwise its mostly useless ;D
This is funny because I was watching The episode of Game Knights that showed Kamigawa Neon Dynasty with Ladee winning with Isshin, Two Heavens as One before watching this episode of Extra Turns.

I pulled an Omnath in a pack, put in a binder and never played it once because I found such a broken card extremely boring to play.
But it's just my personal take on the game, both are valid. :-)

Mutate was my favorite mechanic from Ikoria and I think is a really cool mechanic that I don't see many people use, I love mutate a lot

Speaking of this episode, I'm actually developing a 4-color splash mono green midrange deck for the Standard metagame, that enables both sides of Esika. Thanks to Modal, and how it works, the deck can actually do some bizarre stuff, and may become as creative as the Japanese themselves on Arena.

What a wild game and Omnath is so busted, even with the mutate close jank. Never thought of that outlet as a win. I am considering building Omnath but with a Gates support manabase. Its still a work in progress but I did get most of the manabase so lets see what happens.
