Where the old Micra split opinion with its oddball styling, this new car was designed to appeal to a global audience. It has lost some of its charm in the process - and inside feels a little cheap. It still gets a lot of the basics right, with a cabin roomy enough for five adults, and a reasonably sized boot. Unfortunately, it's not particularly fun to drive and the cheapest models do without some necessary equipment.

You are the only one... and I mean it that... you show and give to us, that small but important detail, for some of us, for the back seats when they are almost disappear, for extra cargo loading space!! Thank you for that!! Not from luck you are in the 🔝 !!

I drove one of these when it freshly came off the show floor seeing as my dads Pathfinder went into servicing but couldn't drive because of the manual transmission. Got to admit, that was one of the best cars i've driven. I like the fact that it looks completely different to the older model which makes it look a lot more luxurious.

I bought it brand new. Actually I bought 2 of them. One of them I returned to the dealer for a Nissan Note. I needed the extra space. The fuel economy of the Micra is brilliant. 5.9-6.3 in city, while rushing the traffic lights! Great car. The only down side as i said is the soft suspension.

I take delivery of my new Micra next month. I was happy with the car after a test drive and a good look around in the showroom. I have ordered the Shiro model with Nissan Connect and six speakers in addition to the Shiro package. It has all the toys one needs for comfort and convenience. The Micra is meant to be a simple, easy to drive car that is cheap to run. I think it accomplshes that aim pretty well.

Last week I had to choose between a Kia Picanto, Rio, i20, i30, Soul and a Micra. I put them all on paper and the best came out to be the Micra. For 12490 Euros I payed I got the highest level: the Tekna pack: SatNav GPS and all extras. Also i got the CVT automatic, which in the review Mat forgot to say that it has a sport mode button. It feels a bit soft but I plan to change to a firmer suspension setup. I can say it is perfect. The steering is really pointy not as he described. Hly recommended

Why do men always compare mini cars to sport ones? Some people dont care about AC. Or split seats. Its a car, it should do what its made to do. Some people dont like luxuries.

I just purchased a near new 2019 Nissan Micra, Canada's version looks exactly the same. The Micra was no longer sold in Canada in 2020, so we will never see the new model Micra. I love the vehicle, though I wish the rear seats folded away like this model....they must have eliminated that as a cost cutting measure.......The styling is not much to write home about, but my vehicle now stands out to the new vehicles that are being produced that would not look out of place in a Star Wars movie.....busy interiors, busy exteriors with fake plastic chrome everywhere.....in comparison I find the Micra's dull interior calming.....its a joy to drive....

  • @WheelieMacBin
    @WheelieMacBin Před 12 lety +2

I have had mine for a few days now and so far I am happy with it. I bought the Shiro version, so it has a good spec but I am undecided about the black & white dashboard and side panels. The 1.2 engine is quite lively, and if you keep it in the optimum power band it whizzes along nicely. Handling isn't the cars strongest point, but then I use it in the city so isn't so much of an issue. I was originally concerned by the fact it is built in India, but the build quality appears to be okay so far.

  • @benanderson89

I'm excited to get my little Micra in January (though I hope it arrives sooner). I just ordered it today. :D
I was going to get a Kia Rio 3, but problems with work have made me think twice so I'm getting the base spec Visia Micra with A/C on a 12 month lease until I can save for hte Rio in cash. Its not the best car in the word when I tried it, but for £10,000 if bought new, you get AC and Bluetooth handsfree + music with a 1.2L engine. Makes it much better value than a Ford or a Vauxhall.

Fuel consumption: 5.8l/100km cvt auto mostly city, and I have a hard foot. Space in back is excellent and I am 183 cm and 108kg. The thing I really hate are the glove boxes. Are just useless. The top one should open the other way and you actually cannot see inside, and the down one if so small and feels cheap. Rest of the car is rock solid. Also they had only Ivory interior which I don't like. If I wanted black I had to wait 4 months.

it is fun to drive... but there are some issues, that I will share with you: *the brakes feel like an on off switch (no middle feeling) *the steering column is right next to your left foot, which is uncovered and you can touch with your feet (and feel as you steer) * sudden move can make the wheel feel hard (due to the electric motor) I suggest for fun a firmer car... but please take a test drive and pay attention to details. Fuel econ in town is about 4.9 on highway 5.2 (i have no idea why)

I suggest a firmer car because it have really soft suspension, but also is uncomfortable (you can feel every wave in the tarmac like a sport car). As I said in my first comment it needs firmer suspension setup. It will not spoil the comfort, because this is already spoiled.

I'd rate this car review channel in the top ten of crappy ones. Reviews channels like this are basically advertisers for car manufacturers.
No mention of the worst features of this car. ( I run a used 2012 k13 1.5L 5 speed manual Micra)
    - The idiotic gearing.
: 1st gear is that low you can go into 2nd after 1 car length, thus 1st gear is extremely sensitive and possibly a serious issue for learners (bunny-hopping), but you can't take off in 2nd.
    : In 5th (overdrive), the revs are 3000 @ 100kph, that's at least 500 too high.
: In 4th @ 80 kph the revs again are 3000...at least 500 too high.
    - Trip computer is unreliable, and may have even been designed that way. A full tank shows you have 750Ks worth of travel, but that changes when you drop to under half a tank ( this is done with consistent driving throughout the whole tank, noticed on many tank fulls)
: The dumbest thing about the trip computer - when the tank reaches 50k worth of fuel left, the computer no longer gives you a reading of how many Ks you have left, and yet that's when you need the info the most.
    - You have to remove the inlet manifold to replace the spark plugs (and coil packs), thus for a mechanic to do this (just the plugs) may cost you up to 3 times as much.
    - No real-time water temp gauge: possibly one of the most important gauges for a car, and Nissan have chosen to not have one. Instead, they give you a pointless anniversary and birthday reminder.
While I love my little Junebug ( had her for a few months now), I'd never recommend this model to anyone, and would never buy another Nissan.
And fail and disliked for this channel and will never watch another of their productions.

My main criteria when looking at a new car, I currently drive a 2011 Nissan Note diesel, was, reliability, build quality, equipment, fuel economy, general running costs, model longevity and insurance grouping.

The 1st & 2nd gen Micras were great; made in Japan with great design, reliability and value - I owned 2 of each. Great little cars. Then the asian currency crisis happened and Nissan got bought out by Fiat/Renault. As a result the 3rd Gen Micra was an abysmal ugly euro-box with door handles that slopped about and seats that felt like sitting on a cheap ikea sofa. Forum discussions by Nissan insiders confirmed that the main focus of the 3rd gen was cost reduction - and boy did it show. The real proof of the pudding was that the 3rd gen was never sold in Japan & Taiwan - they kept on selling the much better 2nd gen. The 4th gen shown here looks even worse. At least the new 5th gen looks a bit better.
