Nissan is a company that gets an awful lot of things right. It predicted that buyers of conventional hatchbacks and saloons would migrate to SUV and crossover vehicles. It developed a sports coupe that almost overnight ended the Porsche 911's forty years of dominance. It was the first to market with a realistic and sensibly-priced electric vehicle. Despite all this, it still manages to drop the odd clanger. The Murano SUV was one and the 2010 Micra was another.

We have one and it is a great little car. Punching well above its weight, speed, and acceleration. It has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever used. Pretty spacious inside. Living in Finland it copes with cold and starts well. Handles great in snow and ice. A lot of Zen went into this car.

Have had one for 5 yrs without CVT here in New Zealand. Had zero issues in the 110,000 miles that I’ve done in it

For once, a straightforward, balanced review of the Micra. Every other review of any Micra over the years, gets the "let's have a laugh,Jeremy Clarkson/Top Gear treatment", when in actual fact they are good very reliable cars, how I laugh driving passed Audi's, Range Rover's, Mercedes in the winter, broken down at the side of the road, whilst passing in my twenty year old Micra K11.

I had a 2011 micro cvt from new and the gearbox just completely gave up after 30 k. I was quoted 6k for a replacement but I challenged them and I was given a new gearbox, and all I had to do was to get a full service at the time of it being fitted. It did take about 6 months but it was worth it but I would never by another nisasan again .

Nice car apart from the CVT gearbox manufacturing fault on them giving you just 30K miles before the gearbox fails - A new CVT gearbox costs £6000 and Nissan UK will not repair the fault causing the code to show up on the dash. I have disliked this video as you are clearly Pro Nissan UK when they are treating their customers appaulingly by not recalling this faulty CVT gearbox which people in the US have successfully sued them over. The worse thing about this situation is that Nissan UK know that all of these CVT Micras have encountered the problem after 30K miles and so the scrapyards are now full of them. Yet to be frank Nissan UK got away with it because no-one in the UK has the money to sue them for their design fault. Circuit B Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor Fault, I actually paid Nissan UK £99 to diagnose their CVT gearbox fault and they said "the gearbox is broken and cannot be repaired".

So basically, it's dull. But it'll cost you nothing, start every time, and always get you where you want to go? A good, honest car then.
