The Nissan Micra is one of the most unusual superminis on sale, with a 'bubble-esque' exterior design that evokes somewhat of a love/hate relationship between car enthusiasts.
Even though Nissan has toned the design of the Micra down, it still presents itself as one of the most stand-out models in the supermini segment.
With models like the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa occupying the market, the Nissan Micra is not short of competition. However, on paper the Nissan Micra seems to offer a lot of the key criteria of a winning supermini. So, is its strange exterior design enough to keep away buyers?

you can now get an aston martin vantage v8 from 2005-7 for under 20k so you may rather buy that one , ;>)

come on people it's not a transmission tunnel , it the exhaust pipe tunnel, transmission doesn't go anywhere near there.
Wow all the moaning about this car , we really are spoiled these days .
My first two cars when I was in the group that would be buying this type of car came with a tape deck as an OPTION over the standard radio.
These days even basic cars come standard with some pretty good kit.
Yes we just bought one a few years ago right now we’re having problems with the Seatbelt button shutting off and on for no reason the mechanic just tried to fix it but it didn’t work

I give Micra 3 out of 5 the tire noise is astonishing loud even with continental good tires.

The new Nissan Micra is a global product aimed at the global market, therefore may not have the driving dynamics expected by UK based vehicles.

Prefer the earlier k12 micra to this. It was much more interesting and had superb 4 cyl engines.
Still not sure about the Micra. If I had the choice between the Micra and any of its competitors (Fiesta, 208, Corsa) I would definitely pick one of them over it - every time.

Only complain about this car is rear brakes are drums, which may not effect to much but reputable company like Nissan should have brake discs like other companies, drum brakes system is quite old to this car.

I think people just focus on competition like the Fiesta and Corsa and automatically see the Micra as 'lacking' somewhat when it comes to overall quality. But I agree that the world is getting a little fussy when it comes to cars haha.
I rented one of these and it wasn't bad apart from the horrible, vague, stodgy steering.
I like Nissan's but this should not be compared to the stuff rolling out of Sunderland. This should be selling as a replacement for the Pixo at a budget price. Trying to pass it off as a premium super mini, does Nissan no favours at all.
