The crown has 3 positions! The first one is the base position, where the watch works as intended, the second position (you only extend it halfway) changes the days, all you have to do is rotate it either clockwise or counter- clockwise depending on the model!! The 3rd and final position is the one to actually change the time, which people tend to go straight to because they pull the crown too hard and don't notice they skipped right through the days! I found a easier way to do the date, pull the crown out 1 click not all the way, then the turn it clockwise or counter clockwise, I can't remember but that changes just the date... I have the exact same watch

What a yikes movement design! Mechanical watches from the 50s needed this reverse method for advancing the day, in some budget mechanical watches this still happens but for a quartz movement, it's absurd! All they need is a crown stem with more specific notches for each mechanism / complication.
