    Ravi is so cool. Never is Ravi condescending to anyone, rude, bad mannered, he never gets angry at people's ed e.g. when they flat out call him names like a child in primary school would do, but he will not allow anyone to say something that is categorically wrong or illogical. He defends the truth of the Bible without resorting to the kinds of things that others have healed upon him. I've heard people say some awful things about him but this is the first time I've ever heard someone try to call Ravi stupid, even though he is one of the most intelligent people I've ever heard. I don't know anything about Mr. Ross, but I think I will definitely start looking into his work as well. There is none of us who is perfect, and Dr. Zaccharias would be the first to admit his faults. I love however that when people show their own faults in their attempt to make Dr. Zaccharias look wrong or that he's not intelligent, he never stops to their level. I'm sure there are times when he would have loved to retaliate in kind, but he never does. This shows the love and grace that he was shown and we area all shown by our LORD and soon coming KING Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah, the Christ. I pray that I can show that kind of restraint when the time comes.

      Yea, I agree, Ive debated atheists on you tube off and on for years. Cant remember how many years 5 or 7. One of the first things I learned about myself was, I need discipline.But because Im a fighter, its in my blood. Im talking fisticuffs type fighter (trained). Oh how I longed to hear them talk that way to my Face! They are rude crude and socially unfit :) But God showed me and helped me. Also we must recognize our own weakness. If you are an alcoholic dont hang around in bars. So I had to recognize that the POISON that was coming out of their mouths was getting on me, and I can only handle so much of it, thats why I said "Off and on." So their is alot to it. But yes Ravi is great at it.
      But I wanted to say to you. You said, I pray that I can show that kind of restraint when the time comes.
      Sir may I say kindly, the time is now, not later, you ALWAYS know something more than somebody else, dont sell your self short, If you have God in your life you cant fail. Even your failures are triumphs when you have God because "HE is able to make all things work together for good." So even when you fail , like I did so many times. I LEARNED.
      Get to work. PLEASE. Learn, grow, Study, Test, Prove, and Go tell it on the mountain. No time for political correctness or "people pleasing" My "style is totally different from Ravi". Im in their FACE with the truth Ill fight for truth I will NOT stand for ad hominem or any other hocus pocus from them. They are completely predictable. They lie, fabricate evidence, change the subject, ignore truth, and basically LIVE in denial. Predictable as the day is long. They are easy to defeat, if you dont stoop as you say to their level.
      Our J.O.B. is to tell the truth and move on. Those peoples "reaction" to the truth is between them and God, you have NOTHING to fear.
      OK, God bless now go to work. Oh and by the way "We are saved FOR good works" Eph. 2:10 If your not DOING good works your not Loving anybody and your a fail. Hey.."the wounds of a friend are faithful". I say this for your good, and Christs. Not to be mean. God bless, Grace, Peace.
      Do you know what the Gospel is? see my video....czcams.com/video/SdhD3q7TYT0/video.html Good luck.

    Ravi absolutely owned that woman who claimed the gospels were contradictory! And yes, the argument that no one died from crucifixion in under 3 days is ludicrous. Not to mention, the amount of flogging He received at the hands of the Romans (research Roman flagram) could kill a person by itself.

    • @mvies77
      @mvies77 Před 6 lety +10

      Grant Williams You are so right. Loss of blood alone from the scourging would have shortened the time. Also the description in the Bible of the moment He was speared in the side by the Roman soldier, blood and water drained from the wound, only happens when the body has gone through exceptionally extreme trauma. The blood breaks down and separates. This is usually seen in death under extreme torture. Jesus definitely died sooner due to this alone. Not to mention, His Father simply chose to shorten His suffering. The woman clearly has not taken time to discern the evidence or has accepted others conclusions.

You claim they are contradictions with your 21 first century view but these men saw it as telling the story different. The point is that Jesus died for our sins. Greek, Christian, judaism and pagan historians all agree on that.

  • @eclipsesonic
    @eclipsesonic Před 6 lety +18

    Ravi is absolutely right when it comes to morality. It reminds me of what Dostoyevsky once said: "If God does not exist, then everything is permitted." No matter how hard Atheists try to justify morality and the dichotomy between right and wrong, they just cannot establish a solid foundation for their belief system. If there is no hope or destiny for us after we die, then life has no ultimate meaning, value or purpose. Didn't the Apostle Paul say something similar? 1 Corinthians 15:32 - "If the dead are not raised, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
    One other thing I'd like to point out is just how rude some of the callers were. It only affirms what the Bible says, that they're "...haters of God." It's ironic just how much time and effort they (and many other Atheists) spend disproving someone they don't even believe exists. I just hope and pray that these people will come to a knowledge of the truth and be saved by putting their trust in Christ's sacrifice.

      eclipsesonic it’s called the golden rule. And the fact many atheists have empathy rather than some Christians who need the threat of eternal damnation to actually be law abiding and empathetic. If those who do even are the latter which I seriously doubt.

    • @miyaskies
      @miyaskies Před 5 lety

      @@christystewart4567 Your defining a Christian by what Ravi mentioned in the interview --- by a deviation from the true teachings of Christ. Someone who is law abiding and empathetic only because they fear eternal damnation isn't a disciple of Christ as Christ defines his disciples. A true Christian accepts Christ into their heart, and through the Holy Spirit Christ's moral framework becomes their own. When everyone shares the same standard of morality (God's standard) there's harmony and peace.
      The problem with the Golden Rule, is that there's still no moral reference point. What one person might consider a desirable act, another person might consider undesirable or offensive, or even downright immoral. Look at abortion. Women who are pro choice use the argument: I have a (moral) right to control my own body, therefore I have a right to decide whether or not to have an abortion. The baby on the other hand, would undoubtedly say I have a moral right to live, therefore you don't have the right to have an abortion.
      Or say you're the trial judge for a serial rapist. Apply the Golden Rule here and you'll have a serial rapist saying "I'm sure you wouldn't want to spend your life in prison so what right do you have to sentence me?"
      You really can't apply the Golden Rule with any consistency to determine what's right and wrong. So you still have everybody defining their own moralities that are inconsistent with each other, which causes everything but harmony and peace.

    Atheists calling themselves Christians kill people. The crusades were not fought by Christians but apostate Catholics who ignored Jesus' teachings like most today. You cannot call yourself a follower of Jesus and not follow Jesus. Our King taught uncompromisingly Luke 6:27 "But I say to you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. 29 To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. 30 Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. 31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
    But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful."

    Sad how few people really know the Bible says. I think that the Medieval people were more Biblically literate than most Americans who claim that they have been raised in the Christian faith. Why is it that people are so unwilling to read the Bible with an open mind and see for themselves what it says?

      Well, it wasn't until King James undertook the translating of the Bible in 1611 A.D. that the laity could understand and read it for themselves, let alone the common man. What your describing is apathy. We certainly are an apathetic generation whose pursuit of truth and knowledge has been drowned out by a love of pleasure. I guess you could say that Hedon has become our god in the west.
      It's ironic, I always hear people worry about a George Orwell's 1984 becoming reality, but we are already living a 'Brave New World'. Ravi touched on this himself. Truth has become drowned out by the seeking of pleasure. Ask yourself, if you wanted people to be lost on truth would you restrict access to the truth making people wonder why or simply make the truth uninteresting?

      My OpenMind
      To discount an idea because it’s old is illogical.
      To discount an idea because it’s new is illogical.
      You judge an idea on its merit.
      How do I know as absolute fact that the God of Israel exists? Because atheists hate Him. It is absolutely impossible for someone to hate something that does not exist. The more vitriol is spewed towards God the more He is proven.
      Additionally, when the world hates God they are proving the words of Jesus. Thus giving evidence of the fact of God.
      Another proof I use is the total absurdity of the atheists’ world view.
      We know the universe had a beginning. Even atheists agree. Prior to the beginning the universal value is 0. It did not exist. 0 matter, 0 space, 0 energy, 0 time. Somehow all these 0’s interacted and equaled everything.
      A first grader will tell you correctly that 0+0=0 and 0-0=0
      A third grader will tell you that 0x0=0 and 0/0=Err.
      But an atheist will tell you that
      0+0-0x0/0= everything.
      Let’s say we can get past that little math problem. We get an universe with 0 order. Somehow the universe becomes intelligent and develops the laws of natural order. Then the universe grants itself authority to impose these laws upon the chaos.
      This mandatory belief of atheism is laughably absurdly impossible. I just don’t have that level of faith to believe in what I know is absolutely impossible.

      Of course, everyone has their own moral benchmark for measuring "goodness". For me, I would measure "goodness" by one having similar attributes as Jesus Christ with regard to compassion, love, mercy, empathy, forgiveness, kindness, grace, and gentleness. Ravi uses very gentle words when discussing very difficult/controversal subjects and shows genuine concern for those he debates with. I trust the platform he speaks from, because it is centered in love.

Can I trust someone who believes their existence is by accident of the universe and that they were evolved from algae? Furthermore, should I argue with someone who has has no benchmark for morality or truth? Remember, you believe that you are just evolved cosmic dust, so who are you to judge anyone? You may want to move on to a weaker believer. My faith is unshakable.

    I love the way Ravi just destroys that woman and her false assumption. What I like most is that he does it in a loving fashion, he doesn't try to make her herself look foolish, only her assumptions. The Bible never says Yeshua was crucified in the garden, it is always on the hill of Golgatha, a hill just outside of Jerusalem. Plus they're are very few differences in the account of the crucifixion, all of those have nothing to do with the context of what happened, or why it happened.

      Their is more evidence concerning Christ than Alexander the Great but you dont hear anybody saying Alexander the Great never lived. Lol. The whole New Testament is actually the Best evidence that Christ lived, ministered and died on the Cross. Most of it was written within 100 years of the facts, some of it written while the witnesses were still alive. Luke for instance. In fact the Gospel of John was written by John, Christs disciple, same with Mathew. I dont know where these atheists come up with their crazy ideas. Satan I guess. He was Liar from the beginning. Atheists are "famous" for it. Now that I think about it, Peter was a disciple of Christ as well and James was Jesus brother! I mean these atheists are NUTS.

    • @tomsheehy1
      @tomsheehy1 Před 6 lety

      The Jews who would have been eye witnesses to the carpenters son ministry, regarded him as a fraud and never mentioned hi's dying on a cross or anywhere else. Josephus , writing 50 Yrs plus after the so called " crucifiction"never mentioned the name jesus only "the christ". Even then most disinterested scholars and sophisticated theologians believe this paragraph by Josephus to be an interpolation. Its also very telling that not one of the forty plus historians who would have been recording events at this time seem to have completely missed out on all the wonderful miracles & tumultous events. How could they not have missed out on the graves in Jerusalem opening and the holy men coming back to life and walking around the town. Also 4 hours of darkness at noon @ the veil of the temple being ripped apart. The male atheist who called in got it spot on - man made gods and myths to control bronze age peoples and keep power and wealth in the hands of the church and its minions.

      22. Joseph becomes a servant (39:1); Jesus became a servant (Philippians 2:6, 7)

      28. Joseph was falsely accused (39:16-18); Jesus was falsely accused (Mat. 16:59, 60).

      30. Joseph was cast into prison, though he was innocent(39:20); Jesus is sentenced to death though Pilate found no fault in
      Him (John 19:4, 6).

      15:28).
      35. Joseph was the means of blessing to one, but the pronouncer of judgment on the other (40:16, 17, 19); as Jesus was a
      blessing to one of the thieves He was crucified between (Luke 23:43).

      Chapter 41
      38. Joseph was put in prison (the tomb) but God would not allow him to remain there because God’s purpose for Joseph
      was not yet fulfilled. So it was with Jesus Christ, God would not allow Him to remain in the tomb (Acts 2:24). Joseph
      changed his prison clothes for clothes of glory as did Jesus Christ (John 20:6, 7).
      39. Joseph was delivered from prison by the hand of God (God sending a dream to Pharaoh and Joseph’s testimony in
      45:7-9); as God raised Jesus from the tomb (Acts 2:32; 10:40).
      40. Joseph is seen now as the Revealer of secrets; compare 41:16 with the words of Jesus in John 17:8; 8:28; and 12:49.
      Compare 41:25 with God revealing what He would shortly do through Jesus Christ in Revelation 1:1.

      Nick Coin - there is a very real danger in worshipping false gods. e.g.- the moon god of the inappropriately named "religion of peace", the false gods of the cults, the distorted gods of Jim Jones and David Koresh, the god of the false prosperity gospel of greedy TV evangelists who prey on the weak minded and senile senior citizens,etc...... There is a long list of false gods who belief in them caused immense suffering and violence. In fact it could be argued that humans would be extinct if the true God did not punish His chosen people and others for worshipping false gods and idols. I'm not going to judge God who gives eternal life to those who open their hearts, souls and minds to Him. This life is brief. Even for those who live over 100, its not even a blink of the eye compared to eternity. This will be an eternity where we are healed of all our pain and trauma from this earthly life and there will not be any new pain, ageing, disease, death, mourning or crying. You can judge God unfairly with your limited knowledge but God will also judge your soul one day so you should study some Christian Apologetics that answer your biased judging of your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who will be your Judge when you die!

    To the really annoying lady who found a verse where Jesus was crucified in a garden, first of all you interrupted terribly in between the conversation and I am quiet sure you never read the bible for it never once said he was crucified there. It was in the garden that he was handed over to be crucified. There is reference to the garden to state that the time for Christ to accomplish had begun. I have met many people who make allegations such as these without evidence. Please do not arrive at some conclusion without reading the bible.

    LOL, the problem with the situation here is that most people are not accustomed to thinking as deeply or as critically as these gentlemen; especially as Mr. Zacharias. I used to talk to people, adults, about the same premises when I was in my late teens and they would looks at me in amazement as what I said went right over their head. I pray the Lord continues raising up thinkers and expositors as gifted as these men. :)

    It's a pity that these callers called not actually to ask a question or learn anything new but to deliver speeches on their favorite hobbyhorse. I don't think either of them were listening to a single word. I suspect deep down they know they are wrong, and the anger comes from not wanting to accept the fact. Human beings enjoy playing God, and none of us wants to move over and let God re-assume his position. I thought it was amusing that the last caller, a female, took it for granted that mankind is inherently good. That's a huge preassumption, and it's a big reason that the non-believer has no coherent way to explain the evil on the earth. After all, if we are all so good, how come mankind does so many terrible things. The whole point of the Christian faith is that we cannot save ourselves or make ourselves good enough. If we are intellectually honest, we each know we are not nearly as good as we could be or ought to be, and if we use Jesus' Sermon on the Mount as a measuring stick, we realize we are radically NOT good. The honest non-believer should admit that they are giving only one opinion when they assert the universal goodness of man. There is no real evidence to back that up.

      @Mattgyver31786 Před 6 lety +1

      No they only resort to ad hominems and/or personal attacks which reveals much about _them_ *not* Ravi.. their morality is not so much what they claim to be but their hubris and hateful pride lays themselves low with each attack and everytime they fill themselves with indignant offence or sulk with just infantile emotions. Aka., they are not thinking clearly about anything and are constantly contradicting themselves with their own self centered thoughts and raw emotion. 18:16 proof positive of people with evil intent and lie to bastion an arrogant belligerence of a cause.

    • @daleschaan
      @daleschaan Před 5 lety +1

      JRW - God is all powerful but He does not force us to obey Him. So in the rebellious sinners own demented mind they believe that they are above God's moral teachings and can live as they feel is right, even tho they have many sins in their lives, have faulty thinking, make mistakes, have faulty memories, and cannot possibly have a perfect understanding of themselves and the world they live in. So these unbelievers relegate God to an inferior position to themselves or become village atheists and pretend God doesn't even exist. And yet of course God is still in #1 position and all powerful. God gave them plenty of evidence for His existence and His power yet still gave them the choice to accept or reject this mountain of evidence.

    Incredible to hear the arrongance of the atheists or the backsliders. The arrogance stemming from their pride and their rebellious state of heart openes them up to error.
    I tremble now when thinking about what those people will answer to the God and Creator they deny, on the day of judgement
    I do not want even to imagine the looks on their faces when those atheists and backsliders find out they were wrong.
    The more I listen to those kind of debates the more I discover the darkness of the atheistic mindset.
    It also strenghtens my conviction and my faith in Jesus Christ.
    Thank God for men like Ravi. True fathers in faith!
