hey luke! quick tip on the guppy production, you should add some green yarn tied around a cork. it helps the babies hide from their parents until they grow old enough to not fit into their mouth. thanks for the content and i hope i helped!

You know you could attach a battery powered timer to each of the tanks and set the timer when you start either draining or filling the tank so you get an alert before it gets drained too far or overfills.
Have you thought of putting some sort of shelf into the tanks that you can rest the pump on with no fear of over draining? Or if there's multiple sponge filters rest it in between/ on top of them?
just out of curiosity, why do you feel the need to suck out the detritus and mulm? I always use water quality as an indicator rather than mulm buildup. In breeding tanks I would even suggest keeping a layer of mulm for the fish to forage through. Just my thoughts

For sick fish I noticed that depending on the condition and if it’s contagious. He usally ends up seperating the fish and treating it with methelyne blue and a special type of salt. With a fish that can’t swim properly he looks at the fish to figure it out is it floating, bloated, bullied ect. If it’s bloated/floating he will usally lightly press on the abdomen (if it’s female) to remove any eggs if they is a blockage/ causing stress

I successfully breed my goldfish lastyear.. but this year i notice the egg are not sticky , unlike last year its stick to the tank.. now im using a 30 gallon plastic container and i notice the egg are not sticky.. with lots of male sperm. I think this time wont be successful… why the egg are not sticky?
