2024 CITY OF CHINCHEROS IN CUSCO (PERÚ): HOME OF THE FAMOUS PERUVIAN WEAVING - TEXTILE DEMONSTRATION

Welcome to Exploring with Cindy and Dan. Today we are in picturesque town of Chincheros between Cusco and Urubamba in Perú and we will meet the women responsible for the textile activities who preserve the ancient inca weaving with traditional and knitting techniques.
We arrived in Cusco from Lima on May 22nd of 2024. The Cusco aiport’s altitude is around 11,000 feet and it is surrounded by mountains. If you want to go to Cusco you will have to stop in Lima first and then take a domestic flight to Cusco. The roundtrip airfare starts at $98, there is an additional fee for seat assigned, carry-on and checked bag. If you are planning to visit cusco, make sure to acclimate to the high altitude.
A good advice is to rest the first day that you arrive in Cusco and take it easy, rest, eat something light and healthy, drink lots of water and you might want to drink coca tea or muna tea and have a good night sleep then you will be ready to start your tour the next morning.
We did our trip to cusco with a travel agency that included a round trip from Lima, hotel and private tours. We arrived in Cusco at 8am and our tour guide was already waiting for us outside the terminal area holding a sign with our name on it. She was a really nice person and great tour guide.
