  • We finally made our way to the JW Marriott in Cusco. It is one of the only chain brands that is in that location and since we were there for a while, we thought we would splurge on one night.
    It turned out to be so much better than we had anticipated. The team was very accommodating and especially when Bernard got sick, they were very attentive. The rooms are pumped with oxygen so you feel more comfortable in the space since the altitude is so high.
    We went on the hotel tour which was super educational. It was just unfortunate that the guide attempted to say everything in Spanish and then repeat in English when we had all requested English. Highly recommended to see the lower floors and see what is under the hotel. Pretty cool stuff.
    Buffet Breakfast was fantastic though Bernard was unable to eat most of it.
    We hope the tips are helpful as well. Enjoy!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    We started our trip back in April 2, 2019 from New York City. We quit our 9-6 jobs, sold all of our belongings, and began traveling full time. We left our jobs because we were unable to be with family and enjoy life. Work was taking up too much time and something had to change. We saved up for 2 years and began traveling as soon as we found a deal that would take us around the world for just $285.00. We started this #travelvlog to share our adventures with friends and family. At the one year mark, we realized that we had only scratched the surface and there was still so much to see. We are so fortunate to be doing this every day. We hope you enjoy our content and will subscribe to our adventures.

    The hotel looks like an old palace. The room looks quite good for a basic room. You got the room with a JW certificate, great and there were other benefits with it as well, awesome. So many food options, wow.

    Damn, you guys really do find the nicest spots to stay in no matter where you are in the world!! I've never lived in a JW Marriott before, but this would definitely be one I would love to stay in! I love the authentic brick layout of the hotel too! I love the feeling of having such luxury while staying as authentic as possible! Beautiful spot as always my friends!

      Thank you so much! We had so much fun staying here and it was great being in the middle of it all!

  • @AdventuresOfATravelingDon

    I feel ya on rolling luggage. Had to deal with that throughout Europe lol. Marriott always goes above and beyond. Especially the JW's. The room looks cozy as hell. Love that it's built into an old historic building and has some of the history still preserved. Damn that buffet looks top of the line. I enjoy Marriott abroad compared to in the states when it comes to the breakfast buffet.

      You are so right! Everywhere else, the properties seem to be of higher quality than what you would get in the states! For us, it was just perfect to do this experience because not everyday are you in a historical building in a historical city like Cusco!

    this is a special place to stay indeed! When I stayed in Cusco I paid around $15 per night for my room by the way lol, but it was basic (although I had one night in a really nice place that was more like $100 - i turned up at 6am and they let me have my room THAT EARLY with no extra charge! sorry thats my memory) I hope Bernard is okay because he didnt like chewing the coca leaf and then he got attacked by the curtain rod. and then sick - by the way three times in three months is nothing! Man have i had some episodes of sickness during my travels! But the ruins inside the actual hotel - well that is not something you get everywhere you stay! Great video, as always, guys!

      @exploreaswego  Před 2 lety

      Wow! Love to hear about your trips from back in the day! $15 is super cheap! But I believe we used a certificate here and stayed here for free which is amazing. Thanks so much for watching!
