- Hello :) This is the requested transcription I did of the Aretha Franklin song "Think" that Donald "Duck" Dunn played bass on.
This is the version from the Blues Brothers movie.

Glad I found you Greg, I have played guitar professionally most of my life but really a closet Bass Player lol. I finally bit the bullet and bought a Bass a month ago and with your help I've learned a few songs now I'm working on Think. When I searched "Think Aretha Bass" Bam! You came up and it was the Duck Dunn blues Bros version BONUS!!

Great job Greg! Nice work as usual. That tempo gave you a good workout, I detect a little sweat on that forehead:). BTW, I really like the tone on that Fender of yours. My guess is you took the tortoise pick guard off it? Always liked that color on those Fenders.

Ya, I really like my Fender :) I can't remember what the pick guard looked like? It was so long ago. I think it was just black? Anyway, the first thing I did when I got the bass was take it off ;)

I am actually a studio recording and mix engineer mostly , and over many years I have seen people using all kinds of different things to mute the strings on the bass for a shorter, more muted and staccato sound to the played bass notes. Tissue paper, bits of foam, rolled up cloth etc. This item here is a commercial product, www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/The_BAss_Mute.html
Not that I think you need it, as I see nothing like that in the video and it sounds more like you are controlling the notes with your fingers naturally. Awesome stuff!

what settings do you use to get your Jbazz that deep? flats? any special settings?
