- A week in Oslo. It looks like spring is finally here. I pack away my winter coats. Mr J is on a trip, so I spend the weekend alone with Mochi. I bake bread, we go on walks in the city and enjoy ourselves.

"Peaceful home" is the perfect title for this video. It's the second of yours that I've found and watched, and now I've subscribed. You have a beautiful way of capturing the sights, sounds, and feelings of a peaceful and beautiful life. (Are you an artist? Work looked like you're a financial analyst or something like that.) Even the simple scenes of putting away out-of-season coats and cleaning the kitchen evoke a calm happiness - I'm trying to bring more of that vibe into my too-big, too-full house in the US.

Mochi is a Parson Russell terrier, basically the same as Jack Russell, but with longer legs 😀🐶

I hope I can show more of Oslo now that the weather is getting warmer. The city definitely has many nice parts. But as a whole I think Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen are more beautiful. (Sorry Oslo!) By the way, I visited Tallinn for the first time about 4 years ago. What a nice and charming city!

I have to say, there is nothing like a city after a fresh rain. I just love the reflection of neon on the ground-so comforting.
I always love Seattle after it rains. The smells of restaurants, the fresh air, just the city aroma itself. I get that melancholic feeling you spoke about.

March/ April are weird months in Norway. I was wearing shorts, it was so warm last week. But yesterday, I had to take out my winter coat again because it was so chilly! Luckily no snow though. This feels like a cruel joke! 🫠

It was such treat watching her enthusiastically sniffing Leo all over - and to see how gently tolerant he is of her eager attentions. It’s so good she has a great friendship with him. And, yes, he is a very handsome Border Collie 😊 I adore the breed!
Your bread baking skill is topnotch and although I no longer indulge my love of bread, I could honestly smell and taste your superb loaf through your video - the sound of the breadknife sawing through that crustiness to reveal the spongy, deliciously salty-sour inner loaf brought back many memories for me. I was addicted to sourdough and ciabatta!
The contrast between winter and the arrival of spring in your country is truly breathtaking - and I’m so impressed with how very clean and spacious Oslo is. You show it off so well.
Always good to see little Mochi outdoors, enjoying the fresh air on her walks. She is SUCH a well behaved little pup - as I’ve said before, you have raised her so well.
I’m wondering whether anyone comes home at lunchtime, to take her out whilst you and Mr J are at the office? Or does she manage to go through the day without needing to piddle/poop?
I can imagine how much you miss her when you are at the office and that it must have been quite a wrench, leaving her behind, when you first got her. I guess by now, you are both accustomed to the daily routine - but I’m sure you still feel a little tug saying goodbye in the morning.
It’s wonderful that you make special time for cuddling together in the early morning, whilst sipping your coffee and just being present in the moment with her.
I always smile while reading your comments. Your appreciation for little Mochi really warms my heart. Right now, I’m having my morning coffee, and she is warm and toasty under the blanket. I’m giving her love + pets from you! ❤️
Mochi manages to stay at home while we are working. We have different schedules, so she is not usually alone for more than 6 hours. We have a puppy cam, and we can see that she just moves around the living room sleeping in various spots.
When she was a puppy, a neighbor came by at lunchtime, but after she turned 7 months, she’s been fine. I’m thankful for that!
It’s hard leaving her in the mornings, but we have a fun routine after our morning walk, which she loves. I put some treats into a blanket and roll it up. And I give it to her as I leave. She always jumps from excitement! That makes leaving a little easier.
And you’re right, the contrast between winter and spring here is so big. Makes me appreciate spring and summer alot!

I've been planning to move to norway someday. So calm and not crowded like where i live. Traffic jammed everywhere.
It can be chaotic here too, especially during rush hour. But generally more quiet than other countries perhaps :)

Hello again great friend of Spanish chorizo. I'll leave you a comment here as well. I see that you make your own bread and you may be interested in trying to make "choripán" also called "pregnant bun". It consists of filling the inside of the bread with chorizo before baking it in the oven. It's very simple but it's super delicious🙃😋You can also add cheese to the chorizo in the filling.
Choripan sounds amazing. And with cheese?! OMG🤩✨I’m going to explore recipes on the internet when I have more time. I love how enthusiastic you are sharing this. You are like a chorizo ambassador! The Spanish government should pay you! 😂🥳

A warm greeting to you in Italy! 33 degrees in Oslo is not very common. Usually summer temperatures in Norway are like a lottery. We never know what we will get. Last year July in Oslo was a bit chilly and rainy.
