  • A thillana in Aadi tala performed at 'Taal Tarang' organised by the Cambridge University Indian Classical Music Society on 16 June 2024.
    A tillana is a brisk & rhythmic piece in Carnatic music generally performed at the end of a concert. The composition does have the usual parts like any other composition, but most of the lyrics comprises of sounds like “tana”, “naadir”, “dheem”etc and less of words with meaning. Here, the entire Carnatic ensemble presents a thillana in the raga “Kadanakutuhala” set to Aadi tala composed by Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna.
