  • After 16 seasons, 555 goals and two Stanley Cups, Steven Stamkos' time in Tampa Bay may be coming to an end. TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Ryan Rishaug to discuss Stamkos' future as free agency approaches, which side has the leverage in the negotiations, and the best fit for him if he were to leave the Lightning.

they better not, last thing I want them to get is a 34 year old player past his good years 👎

I like the idea of him in Detroit. Wings don't have an offensive center after Larkin.
Also Button does know Buffalo was closer to the playoffs last year than this year right? I put those teams neck and neck. Button acting like the Sabres were a mile ahead of Detroit.

Come to the Habs, we need a bridge at center

Unless Tampa can keep him while paying him what he has clearly earned then it's selfish and unfair to Steven he has already taken 1 pay cut to stay with us and that was pre two Stanley Cup wins and three consecutive trips to the Final and then there's all his milestones are they really going to ask him to take less again just to stay with us I am a huge Tampa fan and Steven Stamkos fan but if we ask him to settle for less I'll be very disappointed in the organization

if the Sabres sign a washed up Stamkos when a playoff beast like Bennett is available? then they are nuts

Detroit has a good team. They just missed playoffs by one point they’re gonna make the playoffs this year.

Detroit & Buffalo are far from Powerhouses... but they're pretty decent Hockey teams! The East - in particular The Atlantic - was just tough tough tough!!

Sabres will roll into the playoffs blindfolded this year they are so loaded with young talent.. the only team I am worried that could be a problem will be the Panthers, easily the best organization in the division..the Lightning are old broke and finished, the Leafs are just there to make the league money, the Red Wings are in a mess with contracts, the Habs are going to be bad again but the Sens could also be a surprise problem..the Bruins u can never write off..as for a washed up Stamkos to the Sabres?? a huge no thanks

Keep Stamkos and Duclair in Tampa !! Trade Hedman.....that creates the cap room.

      Trade Jeannot and Sheary

Hedman is more important. McDonagh coming back is huge. The defense was awful without McD.

Stamkos looks like a guy who needs change of scenery
But Florida is very nice tax and weather wise
