They were planting mines in a building and the supposed rocket attack hit a nearby area which set off the mines. Why were they using mines? It’s a shame that main stream media always seems to leave out those little details.
"According to Israel" an RPG hit a nearby tank. How that sets off mines in a building is anyone's guess. Did it even happen, or did they make it up to shift blame? Shouldn't be mining buildings in the first place. People make excuses for it, but they're blowing up everything.

@@The_Quaalude Al-Qassam seems to be confirming it.. sort of. Their version is slightly different. They claim to have hit a tank with a Yassin 105, which is their shell developed for the RPG-7. At the same time, they set off a minefield causing the collapse of 2 buildings.
I don't really pay attention to this stuff, but I've seen them set off mines like this before, and set up ambushes similar to how they claim this went down. If I were to guess, it happened as they say it did. I don't think they were Israeli mines, I think they were Hamas mines.

This single day loss of the IDF was not due to the rpg fire from Hamas. Hamas fighters struck a Merkava tank giving cover for IDF troops planting explosive devices on a nearby identified Hamas infrastructure, with an anti tank missile but failed to blow it up to kingdom come. When the IDF troops tried to rescue the surviving crew of the tank, they were pinned down by heavy firw from Hamas. As it became clear that any rescue attempt was an act of futility, according to Hamas an IDF air asset struck the incapacitated tank destroying it but unfortunately also, detonating the nearby explosives that the IDF troops were setting up which is how the IDF suffered such a horrendous casualty in a single day.

On the 7th, it is crucial to understand that there were no direct attacks on civilians, only collateral damage. Out of the 1148 total names, 403 were military personnel, 59 belonged to the police, and 668 were civilians.
The collateral damage on the 7th was significantly lower than any of the ITf "mowing" operations, which had a ratio of 6:1. When including all casualties, not just deaths, the collateral damage ratio of the "mowing" operations is a staggering 162:1.
On the 7th, with 462 military personnel out of 1148 total, the ratio of civilians to military personnel was a mere 1.6:1,
which is a hundred times lower than the 162:1 ratio of the "mowing" operations based on analyzing UN OHC data from 2008 to 2022.
A 162 :1 ratio means that for every 162 civillians, 1 military personnel is a casualty. The 7th had a ratio of 1.6:1, a hundred times lower.
