Having a button to engage or bypass the effect and an LED to tell what state it’s in is a great idea. Someone should tell the pedal manufacturers to put that right into their pedals.
Very well done, with a great soundtrack :-) Production brought to you by leatherman. I would put some sort of cushion around the area you cut out for the power cable, even if its just black gaffer's tape. You don't want the cord getting cut by sharp aluminum.
Woo hoo! Jim Lill and I have exactly the same power supplies! Unfortunately that is where our guitar similarities end. Well, I do try to play my Telecaster and Jim has a T-style. That’s something. 😂 Time to practice more and spend less time gathering gear.
This video needs a 200th comment, so here it is. I know I'm late the party, but I've only recently discovered the Jim Lill oeuvre (on YT, anyway). And it's lovely. :)
To me the suspense in this art film was the mystery of the missing Phaser and TreMOlo, delivered right on time for the climax a satisfying narrative arc.
The I/O box with the insert jacks is a cool touch. I've been considering making myself an I/O switcher that lets me run my electric, acoustic, and keyboard though my pedalboard all at once. I'll probably add a couple inserts too, now that I've seen it.
@@EpicStuffMan1000 they're also generally a good idea to have, as repeatedly plugging and unplugging cables into your pedals can wear out the jacks over time
Just chanced upon your channel yesterday. Some great guitar playing and sound analysis, but if you get tired of this you could always have a career in video production ! Beautifully made video and reminds me that a) I must practice more and b) Sort out my own pedalboard !! Great work !
Jim! Please come back maaaan! We need more like this! You style of filming coupled with your musical intelligence and skill is so fresh! Need more of this on a daily level. Want to see Jim Lill vids on my daily feed.
If he would do videos no a daily basis they wouldn’t have the same quality. The fact that he takes his time with no rush gives them this outstanding vibe and professionalism.
Not even a minute into it and I like this guy already. At 0:57 he removes the brand name. I hear you Bro, unless you're a sponsor of mine the logo is coming off. I especially like the custom switcher with photos. Bye, bye label maker. Too cool.
Nashville players always have the best pedalboards. Always loaded with the best sounding pedals and killer gear. I admit, I've been obsessed with Nashville setups. Just purchased a 🇺🇸 Telecaster and am picking it up this week. Floored!
Excellent job. Though…… It would have been great to have had info on wiring as well. For example - how the power got to the pedals from under the board? Were the pedals connected to each other - or all direct to the switcher unit? How? etc., etc.
Great video!! Im from argentina but love country music! What do you think of dd3 and boss compressor for the style? Do they work or should i aim for an analog delay and a different compressor? (Like dyna comp?). Also.. dont overdrives also compress the signal, how do compressors work with ods?
Hey Jim, Could you tell me how you made or give me the wiring diagram of the interface box you used to add pedals to your chain?? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
What's the benefit of the auxiliary switching system when it's a single row of pedals? I thought those were designed to make it easier to access and combine pedals on deeper pedal boards where access to use the pedal mounted switch was awkward. Would eliminating it and moving all the pedals to the front of the board accomplish the same thing?
first of all, I think the video is awesome and the production quality is unreal!. Second: is a nice pedalboard, however, leaving aside I'm three years too late for this, unless that particular switcher allows having presents, I think is totally unnecessary to have the switcher, as it really does not offer much in terms of functionality that couldn't be solved with a nice buffer in the input box. But of course, if in the end one rather use the switcher, is all good. I think is unnecessarily complex and a wasted opportunity. Great vid none the less
The most cinematic pedalboard video ever made. I'm not even into pedalboards, but enjoyed watching it!
The little pedal stickers on the switch were a nice touch. Very original and creative.. 👍🏻
Man, the music is beautiful. Could listen to that all day. Lovely build.
This felt like a movie at the start which was awesome, and I actually loved the music. Please bring back the podcast.
As usual, insane level of production value. Jim you’re a damn legend.
I love that feeling of completing a pedalboard and feeling inspired playing thru it. Great video!
This was so relaxing.. Some amazing pedals, music, camera work, editing etc.. Just perfect! Great job man
As a cabinet maker/trim carpenter I could really appreciate the work you put in I enjoyed this video thank you
What a nice little journey. I'm struck how I felt glued to the screen and could not stop watching until it's end.
What an absolutely beautiful video. Drone at the end is fantastic. Really enjoyable watch. Thanks.
Incredibly impressive!!! Very well done!!!
First of all amazing board but the Sonic cover is phenomenal
Great lookin board! Love the minimalist approach.
This is brilliant. More videos Jim please. Just more!
Absolutely fantastic video.
This is beautiful man. Great way to to tell a story through video and a great board as well chef! ✌️😊✌️🧡📽️
As always....you’re an inspiration!
Beautiful vidéo and music great Job Jim !

This sky chase cover is so good...
Legit video and build. I love smaller boards too.
Amazing video, and Sonic for the surprise win!
Nice board! Nice song! Nice video! Nice everything as always!!! ;)
Love the Sonic 2 music in the background.
Love the way you modified that pedaltrain man, looks much more sturdy and professional this way. Greetings from the Netherlands, Jens.
I enjoyed the board build, but also the composition!
Nice Board. Nice video as always.
Keep on picking!

Yeah, that caveman cable channel made me cringe as well. That's *definitely* going to result in some special effects one day on stage..... 🤣

Ransom Baggins that last sentence you just said is hard to do
Intro music sonic the hedgehog 2 sky chase zone, Brought back some memories hearing that.
This is so freakin cool!!
Really Great Video.!!❤❤❤
Dude! i really really really loved this video. Amazing work. Maybe even my favourite video you've done. (and youve done alot of great stuff)
Hey Luke and Jim,
you guy's should do a video together ! Both amazing Guitarist....... just a thought :)
Super sick board!!!
Very video.
I know I’m over 4 years too late but this rendition of Sky Chase from Sonic 2 is absolutely beautiful. Well done!
This music makes me feel like smashing badnicks.

I use that same Keeley compressor I love it, two knob is the best!
Amazing ! that was a good build
Very nice video. Very entertaining. Thx for sharing.
awesome cinematic pedalboard video Jim, :)
Great vid. G
Nice choice of Sonic 2 music too
My personal fav level theme
production value is off the charts
What an awesome video!

oy... that raw sharp metal edge from drilling with the power cord going through it .. needs a grommet!
Haha "Jimmy".... That's awesome!

My country pedalboard is just a dynacomp and a TS-9.
All you need really Maybe a touch of slap back for the solos Only thing I can think of
Great video!
Legend🙌🏼

Good job on the vidéo... makes me think of Ryan Knorr 👍with his lawn /grass channel . Keep it up Jim
Why is putting a pedal board together just so damn satisfying? Great video BTW.
That tone! Mmmmm....
Jim "Professional Country Boy" Lill.
Great vid and song. Why 2 power supplies, though? Those pedals don't seem too power hungry.
Nice cover of the sonic 2 wing fortress music? haha
Great music ! Is that you, Jim ? Lovely guitar tone - reminded me of Brad Paisley’s.
Thanks for sharing!
best use of Pretty Nais ever, lets go stompin
Awesome work! Until the solderless cables, but hey..... I have little faith in allot of things! Great video, man.

Starting the video with a song from Sonic The Hedgehog 2: 👏🏾
EXCELLENT JOB , MAKES ME WANT TO SELL ALL MY PEDALS AND GO SMALL. LOL

Is there an enclosure for this? Maybe I missed something, but I'm wondering how you'd pack it up when travelling & such.
Hi Jim,
congratulations for the video.
The loop pedal control is beautiful. Did you build it? Thank you.
Davide
Nice. Looking for a good analog slap back. Do you recommend the Boss Waza over the Aqua Puss?
Check out Jim's previous video before this one (spoiler: - I believe that he would ;) )
Excellent but needs a cowbell attachment.
Boy you can’t Outlaw without a Phase 100 pedal hahaha! Guess the 90 will do:)
??? What's that mean
I've been thinking about one or the other
@@paulcowart3174 MXR Phase 90 pedal (the orange one in the vid) and Phase 100 pedals were used a lot in 70’s “Outlaw” country… Willie, Coe, etc etc
@@velvetonecustomshop5026 yes of course but was wondering what the difference between them was Thanks
Nice drone intro
Nice country rendition of the Sonic 2 OST, my guy. Thumbs up just for that :)
i was wondering why the music sounded familiar and your comment reminded me it was sky chase zone
I would recommend soldering all those audio cables.
Hey Jim, Could you tell me how you made or give me the wiring diagram of the interface box you used to add pedals to your chain?? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
I noticed from one pedalboard to the next, you changed compressors. Which one was better and why.
Dude! Where did you get the pedal stickers? I want those for my switcher!
Hey Jim. Do you still sell those steackers for your Boss DM-2? Ps: always great videos Man. Pretty fun to watch. Cheers.

Awesome vid........ You're not going Wampler on the compressor?
The Ego Mini is based on the Ross, what's the Keeley based on?
Very clever way to get a visual indication of repeat time on the DM-2Ws! Did you come up with that or is someone offering these stickers/knobs?
I believe he offers print outs on his website
