I can imagine if Goldilocks found the bears cabin,
and the bears never came back,
    and she fixed it up
and dressed it in beautiful golden trinkets
    and velvety chairs
    and copper pots
and she and her beau raised a bunch of littles
    and flowers
and a lovely cow name Cece,
this would be what her life looked like.

Their kitchen is the most beautiful of the typical farmhouse (or even not) youtubers that feels so sterile and white. I love how its full of character, it changes through time, there is realistic "clutter" and just overall feels so real and yet so beautiful.

It's amazing how people think they "need" things they don't: counter stools, a garbage disposal, even loads of cabinets. I also love the thoughtful space. If it had a SMEG instead of a sub zero, and a quartz easy care counter, it'd be perfect for me!

It's larping. Why not just buy an old farm house and save it? My house was built in 1880..with wood from trees on the property. Little things like that, you can FEEL the spirit of a house made from the earth beneath it. Families were born and probably died in my house. You can't recreate that no matter how much refurbished barn wood you buy or how much money you spend. I think it's funny yuppies and suburb/city folk make fun of us country people, but they're dying to live like us.

I was shocked when you said, “my late friend Carla”! So I looked her up on Jovial’s site. I learned about Einkorn wheat and Jovial from her CZcams videos. I had no idea that she passed away. That is so sad to hear. She gave so many of us a way to eat bread that doesn’t make us sick, and taught us how to make it. I’m so stunned and sorry for everyone who loved her. Sheri

Love how your home is so well-thought-out. I bought a bunch of old, Victorian homemaking books years ago and READ THEM! :) They were huge, but offered so much insight into how a home should function, paint colors, the PURPOSE behind furniture and placement. It was eye-opening. So many look to "the old ways" and think it's old-fashioned and out-of-date. I say, they were wise women who knew what they were doing when setting up a home. They took pride in it and put much thought. Anyway, love this video! Love your Homemaker Chick podcasts too. With all going on in this crazy world, I love turning on the podcast, laughing my head off and learning alongside you girls. Cheers Shaye! God bless!

Six years of tweaking, changing, adding, subtracting to achieve a look you just don't get from a 3-month dream kitchen makeover. It takes TIME to find the perfect pieces that you love, and it really shows in every aspect of your kitchen. Very inspiring not only in design but in perseverance. My kitchen has been the same... a work in progress, always! I am just now getting it to that perfect stage of beautiful, functional, and ME.

What an inviting kitchen.. that's the kind of kitchen I have where someone could just sit down and hang out with me while I'm cooking ..nothing better than family around you when you're cooking or relaxing early in the morning having your coffee. love it!

I love the coziness of the kitchen and well-thought out pieces that your family used. I have always preferred using a table rather than an island, and the table you have is amazing with the extra leafs! I really like the use of marble and butcher block for the counters to be multi-used and selected for it's use in the kitchen. Thank you so much for sharing with us!

What a wonderful kitchen tour! I enjoyed hearing your approach to personalizing the flow and all of the elements around the way you cook and use the kitchen. I think there may be a Lacanche in my next kitchen along with a root cellar. Smiles!! Such artful wall paper, too! Thank you!

Omygosh!!! This is a dream kitchen! The arched door and cozy chair and wood stove is like a hobbit house. Your copper pots and pans are everything!! I could gush over everything! I also have a 6 foot harvest table with benches in my kitchen that my father in law built for our wedding 39 yrs ago.every meal has been eaten on it. Homework done here and a million loads of laundry folded on it.these tables hold memories!

Love the floor we had the same old tiles on the whole ground floor of my French farmhouse. Cleaned up well, looked great, warm in winter, cool in summer. Very chic.

Beautiful kitchen… aesthetically made..love every little detail of what you said about how you made it bit by bit … it’s so cozy, airy, with lots of light and cross ventilation.. very functional specially the refrigerator.. and the extended seating area where you have your morning coffee..!!! Wallpaper is without doubt the highlight of the kitchen, it gives the old world charm..as well as the island table ..!! Wondered why you put the sunflower vase on top of the gas stove ..
