    The fact alone that he makes 27,5" hardtails in 2024, when every single big company abandoned it, earns a lot of respect.

    Really good to gain a bit more understanding directly from the source than just thorugh PR information like you as a consumer so often have to rely on. So many bikes you just won't really know until you have bought it, and this talk feels genuine and informative. The other thing is that this company feels passionate and I hope it will be here for many more years to come.

    Just built up a 140mm Switch9er Ti in Oct last year and am constantly impressed with the bike feel and what the bike is capable of doing really.
    I even got rid of my short travel full sus (130front 125rear travel) as I kept going back to this bike as it is comfortable on roots and rocks, down steeper black diamond trails, and really efficient on climbs without beating you up at all
    Great good job explaining the Switch9er Ti in a nutshell and yes, it does ruin the expectations of a hardtail or the quality/feelings that you may start looking for in the frame of the bike

    Been riding Stanton's frames for 10 years now; 2014 Sherpa 853, 2018 Switch9er Ti, 2022 Switchback 631...all fantastic frames and distinctly different. The Switch9er is an absolute ripper, I love it, I do not own a short travel full suspension bike because of it. It's the perfect blend of hardtail pedaling efficiency, damped ride compliance, and turn ripping lateral stiffness in an ideal geometry for aggressive and technical riding. 6 years of hard riding, 1000s of miles, dozens of mishaps, it feels and looks as great as it did the day it arrived on my doorstep. I think I'll still be riding it 10 years from now. It's perfect. Excited about the prospect of backward compatible sliding and UDH dropouts...when might we see those Dan?

    Great video. Back in 2017/2018 I was between jobs and had severance along with a new job so I had some extra money. I was talking to Dan online about getting a bike but at that time they didn’t have any dealers and most were to be purchased from UK frame only given shipping cost. Now that I know more I should have just bought the frame and had a local shop build it. I ended up getting a GG Pedalhead and it was so much of a lead sled and so uncomfortable I hated riding it and sold it. I now have a Timberjack so given it’s all conventional BB and such I could get a Stanton frame and move parts over possibly

    True words!!! 100%
    My Stanton Slackline Gen2 is so joyfull to ride (150mm fork). Super comfortable when compared to my old KLEIN Aluminium frames or the OnOne I had before! Can nearly go DH as fast as with my Pivot Switchblade… nearly… ;-)
    Just ordered a Switch9er frame now - sorry, not the expensive UK made - to get 29ers in, and a slacker geo for even more fun on the trails! It will replace my SlackGen2 - if it handles uphills as well as it…

    6:05 ,when Dan started talking about stability when starting to pedal hard before a kicker jump or gap jump. I can confirme this with switch9er. Never had so stabile frame preventing me to go of side or dead sailor. I can now literally pedel almost into a jump, bike stabilizes before take off.. combined with low BB this is even more pronounced. One only has to be careful about crank lenght if you ride in rock garden areas ,165-170 mm max.

  • @schlooonginator1227
    @schlooonginator1227 Před 18 dny

    Great advice to emphasize what is it you realistically ride because the marketing is sooo strong towards Enduro, big gaps, massive drops and all that is awesome but most of us aren't doing that and to buy a bike built for that and end up doing long trail rides you'll lose out on a lighter, more comfortable ride.
    There are riders who will use the more robust bikes but I think most are not going to use that bikes capabilities.
    I had to do the same thing when looking at my first full suspension. The lure of 160mm Enduro big hitter bikes that get all the attention was strong but sober second thought forced me to realize I am never going to ride like that and a light trail bike with 120mm of travel was much more inline with how I really ride.

    I’m very interested but “Sold out” on a UK website does not make me want to order one in the USA: The website needs to do a better job of showing what is in stock, and US distribution would be great.

      The website does show what's in stock. Bikes are built in big batches, so some of these models are awaiting shipment of more.
      I agree, a US distributor would be wonderful. If you know of someone who would be a good fit, feel free to let us know.

      Yes, why moots? Im not challenging your opinion, just curious. Ive been mtbing since the 90s, i know their legacy and their reputation. Ive ridden a few MOOTS. I'm just curious why it'd be a moots over something else?
