As a DM, I don't do recaps. That's the players' job! Stop babying your players while they make you do all the work.

I already put in a ton of work for my sessions. I’m not creating a video recap for players that can’t bother to read their char sheet before a session.

I miss the moving toys! It was so playful. And thanks for introducing me to a new favorite channel - Deficient Master. Looking forward to more. Maybe I’ll try the videos … but it’ll probably just be a talking head. I’m too lazy for more. 😂

I have a player that writes songs or poems about each session. It’s great.

Another great video. I must say, though, I often take pretty good notes for myself, but if the players ask what happened last time, I shrug. I mean, how much work is being a player really? The least they can do is take some notes. Mind you, I only had to shrug for two sessions before everyone started taking notes.
I mean lack of recap could work if players won't make notes. Play as if they all have short term memory loss. "what just happened?" "I don't know??" "Why am I missing an arm?!?!" "WTF DUDE?!?;"

My second to last session recap (all happening at the same time):
- Majora's mask moon falling GIF
- Anime standard harem forming
- Fight and explosion of antimatter
This is something that we did miss out, GIFs and memes on discord. That said if I put that up on a video it would be non sensical gibberish..... pretty standard.

Otherwise, the players who were there last time roll a d20 and the ones who get the worst result (high or low depends on the system) is the one doing the recap

also: i don't do the recaps that's the job of my players so i can see if / how good i was able to get all the neccessary plotpoints to them. As a player... i kinda try to do notes but mostly forget them. Funny though i can remember much of the stuff even without writing them down and since i mostly play Thorwalians (viking type ancestry from The Dark eye) or some Hacker in Shadowrun who mostly plays games when the our Face is talking to Mr. Smith (or watches some gay p.... and yeah my hacker got caught doing this) i'm not EXPECTED to know everything xD
also for Fu.. sake i spit my water on the screen when the stick figure recap came and the jokes with the nuts came 😀i think i'm still 12
Glad you liked the stick men! If I give my players the responsibility to make notes and recap I'll literally just get bits of paper with knobs drawn on them.

Video recap is nice, but if anyone uses AI at my table they can find somewhere else to play.
Why have such a blanket stance on AI? Some random guy making an image isn't hurting anyone when no artist would have been paid anyway.
