It was doing some kind of seamless looping and the data wasn't in standard CD music format. A lot of games could play some of their music on a standard player, but not all.

Ah my childhood ridge racer revolution series most marvelous long 15 year ago beating all cars course and cups 100% ps1 classic racing late 90s nostalgia ever I love it.
Never played it but my cousin recorded the music for me on tape back in late 99, i would play that everyday until i got conscripted months later and lost it.
It's just a fantastic soundtrack. Many times it sounds like some sort of all-out techno-warfare, which is fitting for the 90s racing game that it is. :)

Well Unbounded was horrible for everyone I think.... and I like burnout series but really it was different from anything, however Ridge racer games changed the way they are played a lot after RRV (PSP's RR are very good I just refer to tabletop consoles), not just physics I mean... yes of course RR6 and RR7 are not unbounded, they are far better than that but RR6 and RR7 made lot of things in a different way making it lose its original spirit, I mean really, the locations, the cars and even the music seem to be off in many ways, it also plays a lot diferently from any RR, the usual RR behaviour in terms of drifting (unrealistic more arcade and like guided trip) is very important for the whole feeling and it changed after RRV, so its like saying... well its not Gran Turismo and its not Need for speed but it only looks like RR in the title and Reiko Nagase
1:55 This intro was just..... the best!!! 9:14 This got killed as used very often.. really loved this!!! You're missing ending track, as i prefer that over the one you have... its incomplete!! "Yeah its a New Record!!!" RR & RRR/Tekken series had absolutely fantastic soundtracks!!! This is whats missing in next-gen consoles!!! Dearly missed!!
If you could get the Angel car, how could you not get Kid 13? #0 had the best parameters in basically everything :p I remember using the devil car in the original Ridge Racer and trying to stay in front of the AI one without letting it pass me once... that was next to impossible :D

Almost the entire song from 24:20 onwards is a complete mashup from Prodigy's "Experience" album. You can hear the rhythms and samples from "Out of Space", "Music Reach (1,2,3,4)", "Your Love (Remix)" and "Fire (Sunrise Version)".
I used to love this CD. I remember a favorite song whose lyrics were "Oh no, oh no!", but I can't find on this soundtrack .. am I missing something? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
