Great lecture on Bataille! I wish there were more
love this professor's style -- seems like a Cyndi Lauper -- a rock star -- I think I would be motivated as a student to pay attention
IDK who this dred head is but she spitting this woman is teaching teaching
not quite sure what the fuck this person is trying to convey, but this SOUNDS like a prime student of this psych patient teaching psychology.
Thank you so much for uploading these on CZcams. Great lecture 👍
Work on sound quality ma'am. Lectures are really great.

A base function of the the Oedipus Complex is the primal horde. The primal horde is the drive that guides offspring to take the patriarch's position or be like the patriarch as a symbol. The swastika is the riech's totem to replace the mirco-patriarchal symbol. To look and see the symbol constantly is a reminder of the father and to be like the father. One father for a nation that is admired and that the populous models themselves after is as homogeneous as it gets.
sounds like deleuze and guattari in nomadology, the war machine
says i'm thinking the nuclear family structure, as d & h (and others) instruct is problematic, i know i've been caught in the grips over the years of family structures that don't go from instruct to later support ... but insist on instructing and directing their whole lives ... so typical and tyrannical in that way
@@clumsydad7158 I can agree with that. In structural theory, looking at the societal and family structures of pre-WWII Germany, a directive leader at all levels (regional leader, local leader, community leader, employer, and father) makes sense in terms of communicating and perpetuating a paranoid message that a group of individuals is to blame for a whole country's economic problems. Those who do no prescribe are eliminated, alienated, disenfranchized, or marginalized by all these little dictators. ideas and messages in a time of depression that communicate hope through a charismatic leader can be amplified through the smaller systems under him/her.
@@pwnemr these dynamics are happening in the usa, more and more pronounced over the past 7 yrs
Fascinating lecture, cool professor. Maybe you can get the audio touched up, it is almost painful.
Yes, please. Shannon's lectures are excellent but, unfortunately, hard to hear. 🌻❤👍
very bataille
naoh this is what I call WISDOM
That's so rude for someone to come in 30 minutes late and then start asking questions like they came in on time.. 🤦🏻♀️
Nah bc theyre trying to catch up
Is this lecture part of a series?
Series of lectures on Political Philosophy.
@@CCriticalTheory arh! You don't have a playlist for that :)
I will try to create one!
That could be really nice, I use playlists a lot when watching stuff like this.
Second question: is the reading for that class the whole of those two books?
I'm considering watching/reading along one of your lecture series this summer.
@@batbite_ It's not the whole book but if you could do that'll surely be a experience of the lifetime for you!
India 1991 - onwards, fascism in the form of the 'Hindutva(Hindu-ness)' movement.
2014 - Hindutva captures state power
2016 - Begin establishment of mass - detention camps
Good.
It's 2022 and they voted against azov battalion 🤔
@@theyeking7023 Easy to be disgusting on the internet I guess.
She says she's not suggesting that Trump is a Fascist, and yet he ticks all the boxes, MAGA and the rest...odd.
I think she made the point to extend an olive branch to conservatives in the audience. It's a good way to make the points she's about to make palatable by disarming that right wing persecution complex. Maybe it mitigates the usual angry defensive rejection and gets people like that to look at themselves critically. Personally, I don't have much faith in that strategy but one can hope.
You wouldn't know a real fascist if they shoved you into an oven lol
Fascinating on Bataille and Reich; More relevant than ever, unfortunately
21 minutes in and my favorite take away is Reichs analysis about sexual repression being at the crux of European fascism as opposed to the rebellious nature of communism
Yes, and it's complete and utter bullshit. It's actually Fascist Propaganda. This video justifies fascism.
Clearly you haven't stopped cooming for a while. It is auto inoculation with revolutionary palaganesia
Reich cannot even differentiate Fascism from Nazism. He is a psychologist, as such his opinions on philosophical matters should not be taken seriously.
Actually, he noted the failure of the commune (not communism, not fascism, but communal life) was a failure due to the psychology of the youth that was molded on authoritarianism . People do not make these distinctions and misread Reich . Reich started sexpol which was to liberate sexuality (birth control and safe places for youth sexual activity). He states that the youth movement failed because they did not embrace the more human needs of sex and community but were steeped in political infighting within the communist party (not the Nazi party)
There wasnt sexual repression in Germany.
I don't agree with Ms. Bell's definition of the primal horde... It comes from a Darwins' theory (The Descent of Man) which says that in a "prehistorical" era, humans lived in large groups, the primal horde, dominated by one older male, who could monopolize all females. In that sense, I guess the older male is nobody else than the fascist leader. Freud developed this idea, and most of all the idea of the murder of the Father (Urvater), in Totem and Taboo.
The truth is that nature and biology is inherently fascistic. Tribalism, group struggle, the acknowledgement of the importance of leaders and the subjugation of the individual in order to aid the greater ideal of the group. These driving forces at the root of humanity are an inconvenient reality that runs counter to the egalitarian, liberal and progressive ideals that control the western world today.
she honestly hasn't read a single thing that she's speaking of.
What a bunch of ridiculous eco-fascist nonsense. Human beings have hospitals... Where's your acknowledgement that humans are capable of co-operation? Futhermore, humans trans-functionalize our biological drives in all sorts of ways - just look at the history of human sexuality vis a vis the history of civilization! You really need to do more reading than whatever Nazi blogs you're warping your brain on. This is youtube, not Stormfront's forum. Bye, nerd.
@@CheechWizard22 if you're looking for texts which might counter this bias, I would mention mutual aid by Kropotkin. Darwin did not stress just competition but argued for the importance of cooperation within populations. I'd also point you towards entangled life: Sheldrake talks about lychens / the complex (sometimes parasitic, sometimes symbiotic) relationship between plant and fungal life. Resting on competition and self interest as the primary explanatory factors in biological development is only seeing half the picture.
HAHAHA... cos'è un barboncino albino?
why is the patient teaching psychology??
take note: for psychoanalysis, we are all patients
Hard to take anything she says seriously when she backs off on Putin lol
A lecture on fascism that doesn't refer to the research of A. James Gregor... Instant flush.
Why would anyone want to point to the quack who founded the International Association for Eugenics?
The hair is too much for me.
Bataille is turning over in his grave.
Getting repulsed by a hairstyle? What a snowflake.
Bataille would 100% endorse her style
How petty and judgmental can you get? Don’t like her hair? You must be lost or confused.
Might she be making some articulate and sound points in her lecture? It’s a shame you are so easily distracted and prone to making snap judgments about people.
It's not hair, it's a hat.
