    i took mine down and painted the inside of the Cover Bright white that way if i get a leak i will be able to tell what type ( and Color) of fluid is leaking just by looking down from the top of the motor

      If it is white, it could be coolant. I had a leak that dried and it turned a white crusty color. Can you trace back to anything up the motor?

    My Jeep doesn't have that cover and the engine bay get very dirty. I would like to put this piece. But where can I find the bolts?

      You could google the bolt specs for the guard (they are 10 and 13mm bolts). You could also call your local dealer to get part numbers. You could even google the parts to find them other places.

      Just checked. The five 10mm bolts are M6-1.0 (about .935" long) and the two 13mm bolts are M8-1.25 (about 1.645" long). Don't forget the washers!

    I have a question. That square opening in the splash guard…Is that that supposed to come open already? Or does it come with a cover? Also what year is this JGC? Thanks in advance!

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  Před 2 lety

      Yes it does come open like this. At first I thought it fell off but after talking with other JGC owners this is normal. Its a 2011 Hemi

      The asshole at the dealership never put it back on after an oil change. There should be an access cover

    Is it the same process for a 2012 laredo 3.8?

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  Před rokem

      Pretty much. There are bolts in the same places but the sizes and number may be different. But yes, bolts on the front, back, and sides.

    If you live in the Midwest and the rust sizes up the screws, you end up snaping the nut clip... then your up shit creek bc they just spin!

    • @learnsavediy
      @learnsavediy  Před 2 lety

      Great point! I just moved from the Midwest and I can already see rust forming.
