It's truly bitter sweet. I want Legends to be canon but I also want it preserved and untouched by Disney's shallow interpretation of the lore and mythos. I'm glad SWTOR is still a thing despite it's flaws.
Starkiller/Galen Marek was the embodiment of Grey Jedi to me. Not blinded by the light like the Jedi or corrupted by the dark like the Sith, he sat comfortably in the middle perfectly balanced, using the Force in its purest form. He is what balance in the Force looks like.
Right on the money. He embodies both Rage and Serenity.

Starkiller is clear legend
It's literally impossible to use the darkside without eventually getting corrupted by it. A grey jedi is a jedi that doesn't necessarily follow the view of the council but still follows the teachings of the jedi code. Galen would have eventually been fully corrupted like vader, etc with his heavy use of the darkside. You can not actively use the light and the dark or be in-between. Its functional not possible within the star wars universe. The light side is enlightenment where one is in harmony with life and the dark side is the corruption of that when one uses draws on the force using negative emotions or uses it against the unity of life. The main axiom of the force is that just as it creates life, it connects all life together. The darkside is a corruption of that so it wouldn't be possible to be a light side and a dark side user at the same time without falling eventually.
As yoga said once you start down the dark path forever will it dominate your future.

He turned against Vader and Empire, but he never had a training from Jedi order members (this thing with Yoda doesn't really count) so even if he would abandon dark side completly and just started using light side he still wouldn't be a Jedi. They are just an organisation of light side users, that's all. I think this fact just makes him even more badass.

Vader has to envy and hate starkiller, he tried using Galen’s lover against him to do his bidding similar to palpatine telling anakin he could save padme from death, but Galen still came out on top and still defeated Vader, Vader sees how that could’ve been him if he was just as strong and stayed true to who he was.

@@fluG4M3 I was really wishing he would be the force user coming to train Grogu but instead it was not him (no spoilers but if you have seen the mandalorian TV show you know.) It would make sense because in Disney canon he is alive at the time of the mandalorian season 2 but his location is unknown and nobody really knows what he is doing. What they did was the third best choice in my opinion but it was the mainstream choice that made the most sense. My second choice was to see Mace Windu come back being badass with a missing eye (no eyepatch) and one robotic arm to hold his purple lightsaber with (because he lost his arm during the palpatine fight.) That would also have made fans very happy and made Disney good money off of new re-born mace windu toys.
Know what I like about comments like yours? I can tell it's from a mature adult. And that is what Starkiller's story is. Not the family-friendly crap we're given. Just look at the terminology they use in their new, expanded material in comparison to legends expanded universe. Where the old EU was for mature fans, this new watered-down material is oversimplified, leaving no room for exploration.

I mean, they got overpowered astromech droids that excel at combat when that isn't what they were made for, and people from different eras in iconic battles that they were either dead before it happened or not even born yet. I say neither, let him choose his own path in a movie trilogy in the form of LOTR (Space Opera is dead, no one will ever make one ever again). Throw in his love interest who instead of being a try hard female character for the kids(ages 23 & under) is just one heck of a pilot and emotional support who dies in lets say episode 2. With an epic victory for whatever faction he's with mid movie in final, followed by him getting his own screen time for the last 3rd of the movie where he journys to a force strong world (Not Dagobah, used too much) where he faces very real force manifestations of himself who are both light and dark. Epic fight ensues, uphill battle for a good 3-4 minutes, couple flash back images of his love interest, gets stronger during fight, non stop taunts from manifestations, after he destroys them he's breathing hard and exhausted, followed by them reappearing behind him in a double light saber stab in the back, Dark:"I am Sith" Light: "I am Jedi", Love interest flashback:"You are, who you say you are". Starkiller: "I'm free", with dying breath before massive force push explosion. Collapses to sunset on his knees. Followed by possible cliffhanger for another trilogy (Ex, proxy appears to retrieve his body).

No disrespect to Yoda, but Starkiller showed us anger, hate and resentment can also lead to the creation of the most powerful Jedi. Especially when betrayed by the dark side, and left no other choice.
The betreyal cannot turn him to the light, loved did. Loved turn him and vader to the light, but Yoda was afraid, and because of that fear he lead the order to their own destruction.
Depending on the being wielding such emotion, darkness and negativity can enhance light and positivity.
That was Luke's core teachings in Legends. He saw the faults of the old Order through his father(suppressing all your emotions instead of just the dark) and sought to correct them when he reestablished the Jedi order, believing that certain emotions when applied righteously (such as love and compassion) could enhance a Jedi's abilities and prevent them from resorting to the dark side in order to achieve their destiny. When Luke saved his father, he did it with love, something the Jedi of old would hand wave away as dangerous. It's one thing to show compassion when it's simply drilled into your head from a young age as a given. It's another to present it of your own volition, not because you were trained to. But apparently that was too complicated for Disney....

The issue with the force is it's only powerful if the user is also well trained and naturally talented AND has a good personnel stance in which to believe in. If that foundation is removed the user becomes severely crippled in the force it happened to revan before he gained his neutrality

As I said it happened to revan as well and u have to use this example kylo. As he he was torn between the light and the dark in his first fight with rey he was weakened.
Also look to cal kestis from fallen order and kanan Jarris from rebels after order 66 they were both scared so badly they cut themselves of from the force. A rather extreme measure but the same principle.
What I'm trying to say is the force needs a strong foundation of character to be able to function on if that foundation is damaged and the person wavers in their beliefs then the force will to waver with them.
Both Starkiller and Vader are 2 young boys who fought for a more important reason for their life... Love... And this is what made them fall or find redemption...

Galen Marek, known as Starkiller, he's just a nobody who happened to be born a force sensitive and it wasn't by faith or destiny that he was born that way, it just happened. It was also just dumb luck that Darth Vader sensed him and was taught the way of the dark side of the force which led him to become one of the most powerful force users and duelist at such a young age.
Galen wasn't destined to become that way, but he became a Legend from nothing. And usually, that's how Legends are born.

The worst part is, I personally know people who say we can't use Starkiller as a comparison due to him being male. Let's just say these people I know of are all about lgbt and female representation. They feel like men have a writing bias in comparison to women. They associate gender fluidity and other topical stuff, and it seeps into the story and drags it down. When really, LucasArts just wanted to make an awesome character.

The reason star killer is so great is because he's a reflection of the power anakin Skywalker would've had if obi wan didn't cut him in half, just imagine what would've happened.

In Rise Of Skywalker, Rey should have turned out to be Galen Marek's/Starkiller's daughter. It would have made more sense, nobody would have seen it coming, introduced one of the coolest characters & allowed for expansion of the Star Wars universe. Starkiller was basically a Jedi-Sith (if that's even possible) & had the strength of both, but rode that fine line between the light & the dark; he is the embodiment of the balance of the Force.
The resemblances of the two line up as well..... Rey is able to bring down ships with her hands, she shoots Force lightning out of her hands, she's far more advanced than other Jedi & Sith at a much older age with a lot less training, her physical/athletic abilities, her skills with multiple lightsabers in hand, she throws lightsabers like a boomerang just as he did, her fighting style & aggression, she looks like she could be his & Juno Eclipse's daughter and unlike Vader, Luke & Yoda she was a competitive threat to the Emperor like Starkiller. Not to mention that Marek's parents both were Jedi's & that was considered forbidden.
If they simply tweak parts of the last movie's story line 'Done It Can Be'. Next movie.... The true Emperor is not dead, instead Rey killed his clone, he is not truly Rey's grandfather, he's been looking for her because she has the closest Force sensitivity & power to Galen, he tricked Rey, Luke, Kylo/Ben, everyone into believing they were related in order to get Rey there so the clone could be used as a conduit to drain Force power from her (because she's the closest living heir to Galen) & Ben (because he's the closest living heir to Anakin) to repair, recover & gain more power, enter an older Juno Eclipse who has been in hiding completely away from all society under various aliases, besides the Emperor Juno is the only one (or one of three) who knows the truth, she & Rey somehow cross paths & are instinctively drawn to each other, then either A) Juno & Rey come across Proxy (his conscience uploaded into a new holodroid) or B) Juno turns out to be Proxy, at the end of the movie Proxy informs Rey/them that he defeated Starkiller (or so he believes, as Starkiller tricked him to believe he defeated him to protect Juno) by freezing him in the highest density carbonite that causes death (0% survival rate) & is solely used for displaying trophies, but there's that 0.0000000001% that wasn't accounted for.....
Like I said new character introductions, universe expansion, on top of Vader back as a bad ass (that he should be), the origins of the Rebel Alliance, the origins of Chewie, genocide of the Wookies, Marek's Jedi parents & a whole lot more!
Disney can easily make prequels, sequels & spin-offs about all this. If any Disney exec thinks this can't be a movie(s) they're nuts!

Starkiller was, I think, only four years old when he was taken by Vader, & he was specifically trained in the dark side very intensely from then on. Starkiller was presumably more disciplined than young Anakin, as I doubt that Vader would've let him get away with any sort of slacking. Due to his superior discipline & much earlier exposure to the dark side, I think Starkiller grew to be more skilled than Anakin, & had a better mastery over the force, despite not having as high of a midichlorian count. It really does make one wonder what Anakin could've truly become had he started at a younger age & had more self-discipline before he became Vader. As Anakin, he mostly used his force abilities to bolster his lightsaber abilities, rather than exploring other force abilities too in-depth.

Rey is strong but strong in a dumb way, when it comes to Rey the didnt write her character very well not only they didn't write the character very well they made her obsessively powerful compare to actual powerful beings in 2 movies especially when KYLO REN took on a Zillo beast and won everyone had trained for years and years, Rey on the other hand hand little to no real training.
StarKiller was trained by Darth Vader since he was 7; Luke was trained for a short time but since he was fighting his father Darth vader was going easy on him bc he didn't truely want to hurt his son. Rey has no real back story, no real form of training in the force, and saying she a fucking Palpatine just ruins Star Wars as a whole because it was never about Anikan Skywalker but about Palpatine

Force healing doesnt even exist cause even god level Sith that had the power to posses other people body and mind control hundreds of people even force users or even Anikan who was chosen by the Force didnt have this ability nor did the Force Gods themself have this ability but fucking Rey somehow know how to use it especially know about its existence; ESPECIALLY TELEPORTING MATTER THROUGH THE FORCE WTF there are weird powers when it comes to the force but you cant teleport matter from one part of the galaxy to another.
3) Her being a Palpatine again ruins Star Wars MAIN storyline because the main story was about Anikan Skywalker and how his story of him becoming a future sith to destory the Sith bc the chosen one must walk through both Light and Dark but who cares because since Rey a Palpatine the Main Storyline was about Palpatine so all the movies accept side stories like Han Solo or Rouge one was all about Palpatine and it makes Anikan fall to the darkside pointless, Darth Vader killing Obi Wan pointless, Luke training with Yoda in saving his Father pointless, and Anikan Killing Palpatine pointless because it was all about Palpatine; Return Of the Jedi was about Anikan Skywalker returning but guass what that shit didn't matter because it was about Palpatine not Anikan return.
And since with Rey being a Palpatine the Chosen one storyline for Anikan is pointless because Palpatine came back to life in a very dumb way so again Anikan returning and killing Palpatine putting balance in the Force is was just a waste of time because Palpatine was still alive anyways.
StarKiller is a way better character because we got to see his struggle, and understand why he was so powerful in the Force because he being brutally trained by Darth Vader since he was a child 7 years old.

The thing that genuinely has made Starkiller an amazing character has to be that it went from a sith wanting vengeance for being betrayed, to finding meaning in the force beyond revenge.
It's funny because towards the end it becomes similar to Anakin's story where Anakin turned to the dark side because of his love for Padme, where StarKiller's love for Juno turned him to find more meaning in the universe that he was clouded by due to Vader's teachings.
I think it's interesting to see that dynamic since in every game you see Starkiller outclass every force user in existence similar to how Anakin was significantly stronger when he became Vader. In a way it doesn't just explore Starkiller, it also explores Vader as he's looking at himself. But instead of making the same mistakes like Vader, Starkiller overcomes the dark side to fight for something more altruistic. Vader's hatred and general treatment of StarKiller in Force Unleashed 2 mostly comes from this. That Vader knows what he can do, but ultimately know that his love for Juno will fuel him to edge of the universe and can be the catalyst to change galactic power once again like Vader did. The battles with Vader in these games are always an unstoppable force with an immovable object because like I said, Vader and Starkiller are pretty much punching a mirror.
When you really look into these stories there really is so much to love with the character development that really shows on how extreme the Sith and Jedi are.
Ya Starkiller isn't a naturally trained Jedi but the fact Jedi must repress all emotion and be mediators and that Sith take in emotion to be stronger and act on the stronger more volatile emotion just gets explored so we'll when you aren't mowing down planets of bad guys. Especially when seeing something like Starkiller mix both teachings and actually (imo) is the best Jedi you can ask for since he's not an idiot who represses his emotion but instead battles it head on as anyone who's dealt with trying to ignore your emotions can tell you, it doesn't ever go well. The fact he eventually acknowledges his obsessions and volatile nature and calls that out and uses that to fuel a more benevolent objective is why Starkiller is so much more powerful and likeable despite his emotionless vocals. It always hits when he goes from some emotionless badass to crying about Juno or showing worry for others around him.
He's the ultimate force user because he uses the power of volatile emotion from the Sith with the collected and strategic mind of a Jedi.
I'm trying to remember the type of Fighting that he uses. Its a very specific kind, where you balance both sides of the Force, not just using one or the other. Mace Windu was one of these people, and I know Starkiller becomes one. What the hell is it called again?

1.Many people miss Starkiller.
2.Many people want Starkiller to become a Canon.
3.People want Lucas or Disney to make a Starkiller trilogy.
Of course, we are unlikely to see this just because Disney princesses don't understand what men want.Not boys who need funny dialogues and thin lightsabers that don't cut shit(except for animals),but men who like realism,brutality and masculinity combined with a good plot.

In the game's of forced unleash vader is actually stronger than the main series in their final battle Vader was able to draw in electricity around them turning it into lightning the fact he's able to do that means he'll have some type of durability to lightning

Not impulsive, but dangerous when their people are in need of them.
