Time Twister 3 - LEGO Mindstorms digital clock

- Time Twister 3 is a digital clock built out of LEGO bricks.
Each digit is made up of three vertical sections with black and white tiles arranged in particular patterns. Each section can rotate 360 degrees before it hooks to the next section. By twisting the outermost section back and forth in a specific sequence, you can arrange the sections so that the desired digit is displayed.

This is amazing! 30 different moving parts are placed in individually designated positions using one motor! The principle is basically the same as in a code lock with just one turning wheel. Very impressive!
best one yet, now u dont have to endure noise every second but every minute instead!

Honestly, this is a lot better than the other Lego digital clocks I have seen.
Other clocks take like 30 seconds just to change an 8 to a 9.

why not just disconecect the motors and change them for quieter motors?
@@ZBoy0123 As far as I know, there aren't any quieter Mindstorm motors. You would have to use a third party motor but I don't know if there are any compatible with the Mindstorm brick.

It looks hard to build (what it surely is) but for the nubers you just need 4x an 8 simbol because you can build every number out of it

Nice! Now make it count seconds.
There are three problems with your suggestion: 1) Lego Mindstorms motors don't move that fast, 2) making a gear arrangement that would serve the function you request would make the clock too large to be practical as a "digital" clock, since digital clocks are know for being compact, and 3) said gear arrangement would most definitely exhaust the average Lego fan's supply of Lego gears. However, the original Time Twister did have a ticking colon that switched from black to white each second, if that's what you are looking for.
