    I'm going to the required seminar in 3 days :D Then I'll be able to schedule my consultation with the surgeon for my future sleeve surgery. His secretary told me he keeps fighting with the insurance until they approve.
    I'm a 44 year old mother of 2 and engaged to a wonderful man. I'm 360 lbs and I can't WAIT to have this surgery done.
    I wish we would have seen Carolyn's weight update. Perhaps she has a CZcams channel? Does anyone know?
    This was very pleasant to watch. Everyone was so friendly and so informative.

      Its so tough in US here in scandinavia Finland where i live, if you are at the health risk they make the surgery for you for free, because we are having a system of healthinsurience but not the same as in US here we have all the medications and surgery for free, because we pay taxes and we pay a year fee thats not even much. For us when u go to a dr and he writes some referral to the hospital and you are having health issues as diabetes 2, bmi over 35 or 38 and if u are having bmi over 40 then you are suitable for the surgery. Me my self im meeting the surgeon i 27.9.2017 to see what she thinks about my situation. Here we go to the privet or to the community hospitals. I really hope you will get the help or have gotten the help

    • @Spidouz
      @Spidouz Před 8 lety +2

      +Alicia Evans +VWGTI Actually it's more complicated than that... It all comes down to listening to your body and knowing the difference between really craving for some food, or just having some habits to eat some food.
      If you really crave for something, you should listen to your body and eat it. But somehow, if it makes you sick, you might want to eat something better for your body. Getting a surgery doesn't mean you won't eat anything anymore... not at all. Most of people can still eat pretty much everything they want. The question is: But do you really want it?
      Because there's some food we can easily live without, or with very small quantity. And that's what that surgery helps you. If you craving chocolate, you won't eat the whole tablet or pack of chocolate. You might have one tiny piece and being completely satisfied with. So it's perfectly fine. But of course, if you try to eat the whole thing, you will get sick and will have no pleasure.
      After surgery, the main important thing is to get real pleasure to eat. Since you can't eat large quantity, you need to focus on the food you enjoy the most and that will be healthy. Your whole preferences might change... something you never like might appeal very tasty now... something you always loved might appeal disgusting because it's too fat, too sugary, too salty, whatever... So it's important to listen to your body and discover what you like after the surgery. And trying to turn to all food you like and that will provide you the good nutrients you need.
      I got the bypass and I'm a sweet eater... and once in a while I'm still having some candy if I really crave it. But now, a pack of sweets could last at least 10 time longer than before because I don't crave as much and only few sweets are more than enough when I actually crave them. But again, this is only my experience and it's only valid for me because it's up to everyone to really listen their body and figure out what they actually can or cannot eat anymore, what they want and like.
      I hope it helps you to understand it better...

    I am so happy for this lady but I swear to God, I really don't see a almost 100 pound difference. I stared at the before and after picture of her for 5 min and saw very very little change beyond the hair cut and blouse....If she really did lose all the weight she said she did I am SO HAPPY for her, but I HONESTLY don't see it.

      Dude, I feel SO horrible about it but I have to agree with you...I definitely don't see a 100 pound difference. I'd say MAYBE 50, but that's also pushing it, in my honest opinion :/

      i lost around 120 pounds after bariatric surgery. but unfortunately it only looked like i lost about 50 (if even that much), until i had excess skin removed. i had 23 pounds of skin taken off. before bariatrics i was size 26-28. after bariatrics but before skin removal i was a size 16-18. after skin removal i was in a size 8 right away.
