    Really informative videos! I’m new to working on cars but have a 1955 803cc Minor and will hopefully be carrying out my own minor works to it (servicing etc). I notice you’re videos are on a Morris Minor 1000, will the procedures be the same on the 1000 as the Minor?

    • @kgcclassics3211
      @kgcclassics3211  Před 5 lety +1

      yes the procedures will generally be very similar, not much changed between the models ony the engine size and gear box type being the main changes

    • @kgcclassics3211
      @kgcclassics3211  Před 6 lety +1

      it is supposed to be oil, used in the steering rack, a normal gear oil should be fine.

    Thanks for posting your interesting videos. If I may ask you a question, with regards to engine coolant. Do you use 'Bluecol' anti freeze? I have heard that OAT; Organic acid technology anti freeze is unsuitable for classic cars. May I also ask you, what is the ratio mix of anti freeze to water. Is it 50/50? Thanks.👍

    • @kgcclassics3211
      @kgcclassics3211  Před 4 lety +1

      ive used Halfords general anti freeze for many years and never had any issues, it comes pre mixed but i do add water to it to 50/50 ratio, i also usually change it at least once every 2 years, if it needs a top up i dont usually add water in winter, but in summer i will

      Hello, without going through it all it could be a number of things, such as too much choke, so the engine is flooded, the mix could be wrong on the carb, could be a poor spark, caused by coil, leads, points etc feel free to email me some details and i will try my best to help you out :) info@kgcengineering.co.uk

    Way to much oil in the dashpot & 3in1 oil is better.
    Never use a piece of wood as shown as the cup on the trolly jack is shaped like that for a reason, using wood will likely see you car falling off the jack.

  • @lesliesmith3297
    @lesliesmith3297 Před 6 lety +3

    Your wrong about topping up the SU carb damper!!! thinest oil possible & only top up to within 1/2" of the actual piston-----should just be able to feel a slight resistance.

    • @kgcclassics3211
      @kgcclassics3211  Před 6 lety +4

      the best oil to put in the carbs is the recomended SU carb oil, however your standard engine oil will have no detrimental effect to the carbs or the engines running performance
