Learn how to use Rome 2 Siege Towers, Tortoises, and Battering Rams in less than 60 seconds. - Siege tips for multiplayer - #bubinni #rts #rome2 #educational #shorts
Never used the tortoise cause i thought it was just something to protect your guys as they waited for the walls or gate to fall but they can bring down walls on their own damn ima start using them
Dude i played tons and tons of strategy siege warfare games like early crusader, stronghold aoe and more ! I learned about this tortoise today damn what fascinating siege engine. Tortoise pits capped ram to shame Thank you
Subscribed, I’ve played Rome 2 since it came out, religiously… never knew about the Tortas Walbrick are bugging out when they’re next to each other, it’s happened to me plenty of times I just never pieced that together
In real life the tortoise was actually basically a battery ram with our the ram or you can basically get groups of soldiers closer to the avenue Mall without tite
I always just use those ballistas to crush a section of the enemy's walls and then have an massed force of skirmishers wipe out most of the defenders, who all flock to the area of the breach the AI is literally too stupid to do anything about this and will just keep sending more troops to get destroyed there, even if you had to retreat due to running out of ammo, you can just do it all over again and crush whatever troops remain in the city, without exchanging a single swordblow In fact, it seems that Total War has never really figured out how to make sieges interesting, ever since Med 2, they have been pretty much the easiest thing ever Empire: Use artillery to shoot down the walls and then through the cracks of walls to hit the infantry in the fort, until the garrison virtually ceases to exist I swear, Empire is so cooked you can fight offensive siege battles with 0-10 total casualties (As far as i remember, Napoleon doesn't have walled cities or forts, but i never played the base game so idk) Shogun 2: Mangonels to crush the walls and massed archer spam to eliminate defenders Rome 2: Ballistas crush walls, massed skirmishers finish off whatever is left of the garrison Even in Medieval 2, there is 0 incentive to use siege towers or ladders, waste of men. Once you get through the gates, you can use ballistas to shoot over the walls into the defenders who come to the gates to face the attackers, and rout them with mass casualties
If you're talking about campaign, its best to wait for the AI to sally-out or just auto resolve. If its in multiplayer, you're better off playing them as the defenders and sallying out.
No one has found a way to use siege towers/ladders properly? The game's pathfinding is that bugged that after 10 year, you still can't use siege towers to, ya know, siege.
It's not that you can't use siege towers as intended. It's the fact that your troops piecemeal themselves onto the walls since they have to climb up the tower & jump from the ramp. So, utilizing them to block enemy projectiles while you assault a breach is just more efficient.
I hear you. I just... I should be able to send 4 towers, side by side, to overwhelm one section of a wall. But the units that are already half in the tower, half out pushing it to the wall... and half the men don't climb up at all after their own unit's comrades. They just charge at the base of the wall like they're Don Quixote tilting at windmills. I'm going to try just using one tower. See if that helps
One tower didn't help. I could not get one complete unit onto the wall. And a reinforcing unit had the same issue. A few go up, the rest go up maybe 10% of the ladders before climbing back down. I tried with attack order, man the wall, move order inside the wall... I have maybe 2,000 hours in rome 2. I don't remember it being like this. I'm wondering if a recent update bugged it out
You need the Greek city-states DLC. They're available to certain factions in online multiplayer. They're also available during campaign, but it takes a while for an army to unlock the ability to do it
@@Bubinni ooooh okay i see now, i was wondering why I've never seen that seige equipment in campaign 🤣. I thought it was specifically only for online use this entire time.
Ladders can work for certain situations, but they leave you extremely exposed. Landing on the walls in general is not something you normally want to do as your units piece-meal into the city and get surrounded.
Great help for beginner! The scorpion is not on top of a siegetower if it is a barbarian map.
Correct.
Whuut?? Really?
Edit: I just remember now that they dont have really huge walls 🤣
Bc they are barbarians and don't really make "walls" per se... as a nomadic tribe of barbs, I suppose you wouldn't have to!
Never used the tortoise cause i thought it was just something to protect your guys as they waited for the walls or gate to fall but they can bring down walls on their own damn ima start using them
Yes! The tortoise knocks down the walls. The galley is what protects your infantry and that's it's sole purpose. It does nothing else
Massive artillery…. That’s my go to , by the time the infantry move in most units are cut in half if not gone
It's a bummer the ai isn't smart enough to move their men off the wall when it's apparent it's going to fall 😅
Build equipment
Push to wall
Siege
My man thank you about the siege tower wall to block missiles will use this in the future!
Glad to help!

Huh, I never thought to use the towers to block skirmishers. Pretty interesting idea, though I wonder how practical it is
In multiplayer, it can save you a lot of harassment.

@@andresreboiro4546 On my current steam profile, 2,000. Had about 1500 on a previous profile. Give or take 3500 total.
I didn't know any of this, great stuff!

I remember scorpions only being on heavy siege towers, not the medium and light
damn i didn't know about the scorpion on siege towers...

I’m never going to play this but it’s always interesting to learn
Or just use them as a shield to absorb all enwmy ammunition, especially the javelin units.
Nice video! usually I do autoresolve on siege battles, I've never been good on It. Learnin some tricks wpuld help me
In campaign, I'd highly recommend bringing 1-2 ballistas instead and just knock the walls down. Units can bug out pretty bad sometimes on the walls.
Okay so I've played these games since the original Rome Total War and I've never thought to use siege towers to block enemy missiles like that :|
The more you know! Lol
Its true guys i was the ram
Can you make a vid on how to use light cav
I'll add it to the list!
Finally some good fucking content
Thank you, chef.
Siege ladders on top, only chickens us siege ladders

What's the name of the bgm? I'd like to listen to it while playing the game. 😅
I forgot. I'd have to look it up
The galley crying cause it isnt considered a seige engine
Get nae nae'd little galley.
I’m very bad at this game thank you so much, 75 hours in an i fucking cannot siege. can anyone give me tips on how to siege with horse lords?

May I ask. What graphics card and CPU do you have and what settings are you on?
Very high & Ultra. Using an i7 9700k and an RTX 2070
More! 😍👌
I plan on it. Got a few in the works.
It’s been years and I still don’t have a pc to play this beautiful game
Hopefully one day
I'd say you're missing out, unless you've played the earlier games like rome 1 and medieval 2 because they were more feature rich.
first time i see tortoise being use
🤔
They're quite common in R2 multiplayer
Where can i find it when i do custom battle? Is that for a DLC?
Is what for a DLC? Tortoises? They're apart of the Greek States DLC, I think.

Is Rome total war have the same play style as steel and flesh on mobile? Or like the other warhammer games
All TW games have the same base structure, but actual playstyles are different between each title.
Can you still get the tortuous I thought it was preorder only
Theyre apart of the Greek Cultures DLC
You should not use siege equipment. Just keep a support army of olgers or blista that take towers and walls down
This is for multiplayer.
Even in the game promo they talk about bugs lol
Every game has bugs. It is what it is.
Never seen a tortoise in rome 2 is this a mod? I only get heavy galleys/gallerys or whatchamacallit
They're apart of the a DLC. Think it's the Greek States.
