- Hidden messages and codes in songs backwards about Control / Control 2 hidden in the song Take Control that is unlocked at the Jukebox but never played in the game. You can only listen to the song in the mindplace.
When played backwards the message is:
In their drunken fever states, see them both profoundly
The pyramid in stones files becomes a spruce tree
The diamond will tell you where ; Asgard is

I hate to break it to you, but I spent months trying to decypher this when Control came out.
I OBSESSED over it, convinced it was leading so some super hidden secret. I was trying to find alternate paths in the Ashtray Maze, I drew the map from the rug in the Hotline Chamber.
And after allll that...its not :(
When the AWE DLC for Control came out, it was the hints on how to find a secret power up.
And its not even that good. And I found it by accident (still needed the numbers to solve the clock puzzle though)

I remember playing Control, and the Ashtray Maze and hearing the song, but I don't remember the backwards words at all. I thought they added that in Alan Wake 2. That's awesome you discovered that so many years ago. Nice to know other people get as obsessed with secrets and lore as I do.
I just watched your video. That's insane! The path explained in the hidden message was there in Control the entire time. I pride myself.on finding every last secret in games, but I totally missed that in Control. Well Done Man !!!
Is this at all a known secret or is it pretty well Still unknown? I couldn't find any videos on youtube So I figured it had to be pretty unknown or even undiscovered.

Man I'm super late to the party, I've never seen any mention of this, I have no idea how I totally missed this . I legitimately thought it was something new in AW2. That's embarrassing considering how many times I've played every remedy game. I was just about to start playing Control again, but AW2+ came out today, so that's my week.

The reversed lyrics are hints for a hidden room puzzle in AWE dlc.
A few people have told me about that, I was really surprised. I totally though this was a new version of the song they added just for AW2. I played control twice and was sure I had discovered everything. Turns out this is old knowledge for a lot of you. I don't know how I could have missed it in Control.... kind of embarrassing... now I need to play control again and find this secret room

The first message I'm pretty sure is "stolen file", and it is transcribed incorrectly, as the jakko and Illmo starting the cult and basing their symbol on the FBC files they ganked
While that's true, it's kinda interesting that they came to that conclusion considering Yggdrasil's relevance. Of course Yggdrasil is a Director Ash tree, not a Director Spruce tree.

Yeah I totally missed this, Crazy because I am a total completionist , and I explore and re explore everything. I've actually played Control twice, and I was sure I explored 100% , I never noticed the backward lyrics in the game , I always play with subtitles off, and I normally do not used guides when I play games because I love to figure things out. But I will be honest, not only did I miss this message in control and believe it was added to a new mix of the song for Alan Wake 2, I never actually even heard of the puzzle in Control. Maybe I will have to give Control another playthrough at some point. I was all excited, because I honestly thought this was all New... Ha kind of embarrassing.

I did know about the number thing. Pretty sure we can use it to find a hidden room in one of the Control DLCs.

IT is yakko talking in this song. I believe He put a song over transmission unit near the lake where you meet him for the first time in AW2

Well, I know what to do with the numbers whenever I reach the AWE DLC in my first Control playthrough.
I totally missed the boat on this... I thought this was an updated version of the song in Alan Wake 2. I really don't remember hearing the backwards words during the Ashtray Maze, and I did a 100% playthrough (or so I thought ) on Control. I even played it a 2nd time. I thought this was going to have some meaning in Control 2... I can't believe I missed this, now I want to go back to control and figure it out. Several people have left comments here with video links, but I want to figure it out myself. I just don't have a clue where to start, maybe once I load Control back up I'll get some ideas.

Haha, yeah a good deal of people have made it clear to me already. Crazy how I missed it in Control, even more crazy as much as I have played the Remedy Games I never even heard of this Secret. I literally thought it was like a New Mix of the Song From Control.

It's crazy that I never realized this existed. I've played control twice, and I didn't rush it at all. I simply never heard the backwards parts in the song. Maybe because I was distracted by the Ashtray maze. I was so sure Alan wake 2 had a new version of the song with the backwards message, and that it would be relevant in Control 2.
I totally missed this in Control, and I was sure i did 100% of that game, i generally don't watch CZcams videos on games because I like to discover the secrets for myself, so I had not even heard of it being an actual area in Control with a secret message from Alan.
Imagine my surprise when 50% of the people commenting on this video told me this is Old News.
@@UndeadAaronGames I've loved these songs since i first heard them. I just bought the cd album. Ive had a bunch of the old gods songs on my CZcams music for a long time. I had to learn all the words. There's a lot of secrets. For one, he seems to say "fading in as children play twilight games", but it's "Faden in" and " can't you see the light is Faden". The clue to the puzzle in the AWE dlc is in research where they break down a song using numbers for letters on a chalk board. I heard the numbers and figured out ASGARD IS. But i didn't know what to do with it until the dlc came out. Then i was so excited this year when i saw Iilmo's files where he drew the spruce tree on the pyramid. I love these hidden clues. There's another really fun one in the mirror level. esseJ says "Im much Wilder than you" backwards of course. Hinting at Tim Breakers theory of people having different identities in different worlds. There's a world where he's Jack Joyce, she's Beth Wilder, and Door is Martin Hatch

@@justinwilliams7324 watch Twin Peaks. Red Room is where characters speak in reverse. Very trippy and crazy plus developers said themselves that TP is their influence among others...
