I miss this Bogut!! Severely under rated for his whole career

Very underrated, mainly because people will just read a stat sheet and think 'oh he only got 10 points he sucks' without looking at his overall impact (defense, passing, rebounding, screening, screen assists, being a great leader, post moves, drawing charges etc) and the Bucks weren't a popular team at the time which meant less exposure. Bogut could have been a perennial All-Star if he stayed healthy (he was All-NBA which is better than All-Star, it used to be 2 centers from each conference made the all star game, so think of centers in the weaker eastern conference back then... Bogut was better than all of them except Dwight Howard, then Dwight went to the West opening up another spot for Bogut... so Bogut could have made it about 4 times) It kinda annoys me how Al Horford & Roy Hibbert made the all star game multiple times while Bogut didn't even get in once, a lot of casual fans would respect his career more if they saw All Star on his résumé

Bogut Archives 100% Correct . Hibbert especially only had one good year really and with Bogut playing on the Bucks, they were essentially invisible to many casual fans. He was at least equal with Horford, but most likely in front of him in the first 5 years.
Bogut was the BEST screen setter in the league at Warriors and Curry and Thompson have not had as much space since he left. His defence and Bball IQ were elite and still on show now with the Kings. The fact the Deandre Jordan was a DPOY over him was disgraceful. Yes, Deandre has flashy blocks, but Bogut’s team defence was SOOO much better than his. Typical US media bias
I often wish we could go back and see where he would have ended up as a player if Amare never touched him on that dunk that caused the horrific elbow injury. His shooting touch was never the same after that and it probably took nearly 3 seasons for him to play with some form of comfort in his arm.

Completely agree, it’s refreshing to hear someone who gets it haha, Bogut was the best defensive center in 2015 but I think Deandre got more votes because he played more games and 10 more minutes per game than Bogut (the warriors were deep and went small ball a lot) but Bogut got a ring that year so I’m not bitter lol. I wish that injury never happened, Bogut could have had a 10x better career if Amar’e wasn’t there or if he tried to catch him to slow his fall a little, so many what if’s. Bogut could have been like a Marc Gasol level player (minus the 3 point shooting)
