  • It's been nearly a decade since Linsanity took New York City and The Knicks by storm, but former teammates Jeremy Lin, Landry Fields, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Steve Novak remember it like yesterday. They reunite for a virtual roundtable on the MSG 150 At Home to talk about their favorite memories and share stories of what it was like during that time.

WildDanHibiki that wasn’t true though that was a narrative the news created bc they didn’t like Melo everyone thinks Lin was better but in the playoffs it was Melo that kept the team alive if you can recall I can because I watched all of it. Jeremy Lin didn’t have a left hand so once that was exposed D Wade kept taking the ball from him. The only reason Lin worked was bc that was the Mike Dantoni system where the pint guard holds the ball for mad long, that system works on the regular season but in the playoffs does not which is why Jeremy Lin didn’t do anything in the playoffs for us. It was Melo that kept us from getting swept by the Heat not Lin and Amare had injured himself like an idiot. You guys disrespect Melo a lot but before Melo came we never had a 50 game win season, made it to the playoffs, and even got out of the first round and won a division title. Put some respect don’t tell me about Jeremy Lin bc if he was so great what did he do after the Knicks he was riding the bench now he’s out the NBA and Melo is recovering his career stop with all this Melo disrespect Melo has left the Knicks and the team still sucks stop bringing up his name

I was a teenager and early twenties when the Knicks had both Starks & Ewing and the 90's Knicks were a tough defensive minded team like the The Detroit Pistons when they were the Bad Boys. Is just my personal opinion I think Sprewell and Lin were the most entertaining to watch as individual players. But those 90's Knicks teams were exciting to watch as a whole because of the intense battles with the Bulls, Pacers, and Heat. I can't speak for past Knicks teams or players like Bernard King, Willis Reed or Walt Frazier because I was not alive to witness their games.

They were a really good face-paced team. (+Tyson) I mean I can't blame for Melo being jealous of Lin's success because he's a human but it's just unfortunate scenario that their time was too short. Lin is obviously a point guard who works the best along with people that 'support' his role (vice versa), just like Kidd's Nets team. (no one was really a superstar but teamwork was great) It's really unfortunate he was teamed up with iso superstars, especially shooting guards, afterwards.

There was that one suspect moment with Stoudemire when after that famous final shot by Lin in Toronto , you can see Lin shouting & then Stoudemire comes up to him also looking like he was shouting at Lin, with mouth wide open, as if Stoudemire was mocking Lin's shouting. I don't know, but it just did not look right. But I wasn't there so it's hard to see what happened after that, when the team started to group together during the time-out.

That was a fun team for sure...then Melo came back and killed the energy and ball movement. D'Antoni actually saw that the TEAM was much better without Melo that byear and so he went to tye fron office and demanded Melo be traded...Front Office said No and so D'antoni resigned...That was the end for Linsanity and Melo took over the team with "Iso Joe" coach Woodson always making sure Melo was happy. Ironically Melo later on went to the Dantoni coached Rockets and got released.
