I wish women and girls still wore dresses most of the time. It looks so nice. I like it when they wear the dresses between the knee and ankle length as in this show. Very nice.

The Dodge commercial is priceless. My father was mustered out of the Air Force in 1956. I have a pic of him wearing the "Ike" jacket so prominent in those days. What memories!

This show has always reminded me of "I Love Lucy." I think the biggest difference is that Danny Thomas worked with the kids a lot better than Lucy did with children. It wasn't just a walk on role, they had good writing and stories for them and he was very believable as the father.

If I were a teenager in the 50's I would be smoking CONSTANTLY. Amazing how they treat it like it's nothing!

nothing against Marjorie Lord, but i liked Jean Hagen better in the role. the sarcasm between her and Danny, kind of made the show.

"Danny Williams" was an extension of the real Danny Thomas. Only he wasn't as home as much as "Danny" seemed to be on TV. However, both were entertainers, and had to play nightclub engagements elsewhere.

@@arttrombley7385 Oh bull! Men were cheating on their spouses, ignoring their children and leaving their wives for younger women back in the 1950s. You actually think the sitcoms of this era were REALITY BASED???

    "Rusty Hammer".
    Cool name!

I hate to disappoint you, but it's Rusty Hamer, not Hammer. His last name Hamer rhymes with Tamer. You can listen to the opening credits and hear the announcer pronounce it and see how it's spelled.
