    I was born in 1975 ,so Norman was in his prime and doing his stuff long before my time,but I'm something of a Leeds Utd geek ( yet another Celtic fan).ive read and watched just about anything there is to find about Leeds at that time.
    Interviews with Norman were always the best;
    This graceful bear on the pitch ,and the kind ,successful man in his retirement.Knew he had been diagnosed ,but saddened to hear the news yesterday.
    Keep biting Norman.rip

    Rest in peace Norman.
    Man Utd fan here of 50 years.
    My first two games were Utd v Stoke at Old Trafford, and Wolves v Leeds in November 1970,
    Courtesy of my late Father.
    Leeds won 3-2.
    Moving from the North West to the South West in later years, Dad and I saw Norman play for and keep Bristol City in the old Division One.
    Very popular character, off the field!

      First match: December, 1962 beat Hull City 5/1 and been downhill ever since :) Between 1963-1993 until The Old Den closed I missed 6 Home games. Gradually lost interest as I was used to the freedom to stand and move around and passion of that Stadium and hated sitting down in one place at The New Den. Now only go as a "Glory Hunter " which sounds a contradiction in terms for a Millwall fan though we have been to Wembley 4 or 5 times in the last 10 years. Went to 82 Away grounds including Leeds when we won 2/1 on 6/4/88 in our Promotion year to The Promised Land after 103 years. Stayed at Holmfirth....:)

      Hi,Chelsea v Leeds was always feisty to say the least!,no quarter given on both sides always led to a good game,that 1970 world cup v West Germany when "the cat " got the blame was wrong, England were knackered and Ramsey had used his subs badly, so for me ,bonetti was blameless. As for 1974,why does no one blame shilton?,the ball went through him?,so again I don't blame hunter ,shilton at fault for me.

      I first saw Norman Hunter play in October 1965 when my mate and I were invited to spend a weekend in Leeds with a lovely couple we met on holiday in Rimini, the weekend to take in the match between Leeds and the mighty Cobblers. The Cobbs were winning 1-0 but Leeds went on to knock in the odd six goals but the weekend was fantastic. We witnessed the best Chinese meal I have ever tasted as well as witnessing the best central defender I have ever seen (and would ever see) in Norman. One thing that amazed me was his coolness and his distribution. not common for a central defender in those days. I saw Leeds many times over the Revie era and Norman was always superb. Gutted about Norman, taken far too soon. He was in the Leeds side at my very first live match, Anderlecht v Leeds March 1975. We lived abroad at the time and I was 9 years old. Supporter ever since. Just found and subscribed to your channel, many thanks.

    i think the nickname does him a disservice. much better than others like chopper harris, and tommy smith. a lot more than a hardman.

    English football was great in the 70s. The players played with passion. They tackle hard but fair. Most important of all they are gentlemen unlike the unsportmanship characters of most players today.

    As a neutral, Leeds were a brilliant team. Jackie and Norman were two Geordies and two superb talents. And two great men.
