We use the term legends too loosely but with this man there’s no other word more appropriate!

Big Jack became a top class centre half under Don Revie, remember his alleged 'black book', with names of players he was going 'to do ',met him a few times in pubs ,a genuine down to earth guy, some lufc team in heaven now.

Big Jack innovated the standing on the goal line. Up to then nobody did that. He was a monster. Almost unplayable when standing there. RIP Jackie.

Yesterday morning around 09.15 my dad who's in his 90s and I drove to a small Northumberland seaside village about 3 miles from where we live to a bar restaurant car park, the bars called Charltons, and you would never believe it the small seaside village is called.... WEMBLEY. I spoke to a family of Leeds fans on the beach who were in the area, and made a detour to pay their respects to big jack.

We have lost a true LEEDS UNITED legend , and England World Cup hero, and Republic of Ireland World CUP manager last 8 , legend there too. Let's hope in the heaven bar with Norman , Trevor, Paul, Billy and Don Revie and all hes England mates etc Record appearances for Leeds . Let's hope he can watch his one and only club win the league and return were they belong back to the Premiership, and then we would all be happy . JACK A BIG THANK YOU ! RIP CHRIS.

I'm 45 now, and I can tell you that I'd much prefer Jack over the type of characters that we have today.. There are no characters today, only money men who have no shame in diving in order to get their own way.. I think the footballers back in those days were much stronger and had way more character which is what is needed to win games.
And in the perfect facilities that they have today along with the advanced techniques and coaching they'd beat modern players off the park.

Only three deaths that hit me hard too near tears on the morning news were John Lennon George Harrison & now Big Jack. A huge shock. I am a Leeds fan, espec Don Revie's Leeds & only the Beatles slightly pip it. I loved his tackles espec his going in from behind & getting down on one knee in one movement & hooking the ball out & also directing it to a Leeds player who would be there ready to receive it. And if a Leeds player, espec Gary Sprake, fluffed or transgressed then best hide from the fury of Big Jack. He was like a albino giraffe galloping on one of his runs. We are now putting together Don's team in the HearAfter, beware Chelsea, oh & Peter Osgood! Lets honour him with promotion, at last, its tight tho! Nicely put together SteakandSid.
