Betrayal is such a terrible thing, especially by someone you love. If you let it it can ruin you.
I know EXACTLY what he’s saying. Time healed a good part of the trauma but there is still some there. You don’t ever want to experience it , it is everything tragic imaginable I don’t know how I got over it. Strong will and time I suppose. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do but hang on , stay strong and let time help you.
Time doesn't heal anything, it only distances you from the hurt, but the wound is still there. Healing takes work.

I've spent my life; over 50 years! trying to laugh away my troubles.
It doesn't work.
When the laughter stops, the pain, anger, etc. of the betrayal is still there.
Laughter is a distraction, not a cure. You can only distract yourself so long. When you turn off the TV from binge watching your favorite comedy, the feelings are right there! They haven't gone anywhere. It was only a distraction.
I don't know the cure. I've read many books, and watched many videos, tv speakers, etc. on the matter. Nothing has changed for me.
Every emotion and thought JP spoke of in this video, I still have. I can distract myself for a little while, but nothing is over. Nothing has changed.
The same feelings I had then, I have today. I have tried everything to rid myself of them! Every exercise, ever distraction, every "change your thinking" cliche around. But at day's end, when the distractions goes off with the lights, and I'm laying in bed trying to sleep, the feelings of the repeated betrayals in my life return still again.
Because they never really left.
It's easy to look the other way for a little while. It's much harder to get over the knife in your back. Especially when you have more than one!
I have so many I whistle when I go outside on a windy day!
Again, using humor to distract myself for a few seconds. That's my life.
But I will NEVER again trust anyone. That's what people have taught me with their actions.
Words mean nothing. Not really. I can say I'm going to flap my arms, and fly to the moon. It doesn't mean I can do it.
It's the same when people betray you. They will say they love you. It doesn't mean they do. Their actions will show you the TRUTH.
In my life, again over 50 years! The Truth people have shown me is, I am hated by everyone I meet. The remedy is, I don't bother trying to meet people anymore. Nor will I ever again.
My Mom's widower stole our inheritance and my Mom's sister and kids have not only helped him but now share meals and time together. So not only do I have to deal with the loss of my best friend, my Mom, but the betrayal of people who pretended to love me and my sisters.
Ppl are evil out there, if thats what they show you they are, believe them. Im blessed to have love in my life.
