Royal Marines' faster and more agile Commando Raiding Craft in action

- The Commando Raiding Craft (CRC), a vessel that can go further, is more manoeuvrable and has more power, has been issued to the Royal Marines and is already seeing operational service.
The multi-role CRC replaces the troop-carrying and fire support variants of the Offshore Raiding Craft (ORC).
With flanking fire support no longer a priority and more focus on discreet entry into a combat environment, the CRC can be easily reconfigured to store smaller inflatable raiding craft which can be used to venture deeper behind enemy lines and deliver lethal strike teams ashore.

Not the RM's job mate. The maritime aspects of RM's job is fleet protection, maritime counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, counter-piracy, Joint Personnel Recovery, maritime interdiction and more. Not to stop immigrants coming over on boats, that's border forces job mate.

These boats are small enough to be dropped (crew and marines already aboard....those willing to enjoy the thrill) via parashute sledge out the back of a plane (over waters of course) for covert purposes!

@@archstanton6310 See this is your deluded thinking I did say "It isn't a fleet" meaning the river class patrol vessels aren't a fleet. So does Autralia, Canada, Poland Italy France have naval fleets? Oh obviously they don't as the largest navy outside of India, China, the Russians (mostly defunt 1980's vessels) and obviously the US Navy, However the RN has more tonnage than both the next two NATO navies combined Italy, and France. So you still don't know what you are saying. Deluded is what you still remain.

shouldnt they placed a gatling gun at the front for mowing purposes... would be ideal with 2 boxes of 1000rounds per case n that would also help to better plane the vessel a bit.

That’s not what they are replacing, we still have troop and vehicle landing craft. These are offshore raiding craft for small commando groups to conduct raids on enemy high value targets

@@Dingdangdoo Yes 6,000 very different diverse people who are extremely freindly, and after a few beers they will even introduce you to their views on life, and their very friendly hands, and handiwork. Not the ones to get on the wrong side of as friends though, as the USMC, and other Marines of NATO, constantly find out to their chagrin!!
The edited bit. Last year they were so freindly to their USMC counter parts, that they finished an exercise within an hour of starting, specifically so that the USMC could go get cleaned up. and go home whilst they (the Royal Marines) played around with the exercise grounds, and their equipment, for them!!

Thank god they’ve purchased some fast boats. Lads I know got bored of rowing. Imagine as well if the enemy could hear the silent boat and see the wake. Oops, forgot it’s grey. On a positive note our wonderful aircraft carriers will protect us. Imagine the amazing electronics they have but a mechanical issue prevented a simple movement. Russia, come on over and take us. The only reason we get away with things is because we are a staging post for America. They won’t let us fail because we are required to conquer.

The Royal marines sure are pathetic and tier 3 at best… the US Marines and special forces have been using this type of boat for more than 50 years… congratulations royal marines, you are 50 years behind in technology 😂😂😂
So have the RM, this is an updated version of the ORC, but no doubt you missed that detail. The SBS operate various other craft as well.
