The wife and I made a trip to Dan Cummins and ended up ordering a Grand Cherokee. We did tell Lyndsey you sent us. We got it for 4 percent below invoice plus and extra 300 off for Tread Lightly
That’s awesome!!!
I just flew out to a dealer on Friday and drove 1000 miles to get my ordered 392 back home. I love this thing so much. Ordered it back in July loaded with everything I wanted such as XR and half doors. Buy once cry once I say lol. I totally agree with the spend some money on an airline ticket. I did it because I got it for 6k off msrp. Great videos man!
That’s awesome, glad you could get all the options you wanted!
Congrats!
Granger in Iowa?
Great job! It's never fun walking into a dealership, but this info helps a lot. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I spoke to Lindsey today and let her know I got her name from watching this video. She got a laugh out of it. She was incredibly helpful and I'll be placing my order after I put eyes on the new paint colors. Thanks for the information!
Glad you were able to chat!
Matt, I love the channel, came across it earlier this year. I had been waiting for the order banks to open for the 392's. I came across your video on June 7th, indicating that the order banks were open. I know you promote Dan Cummins, So I called to double check, that I could order one, as I did not want to waste a trip. The sales Lady I talked to told me that they were not taking orders for the 2023 392's. I told her that I know the order banks opened on June 2nd, she told me I was wrong, I asked her to double check, she came back and said no, I indicated this is for the 2023 392's Not the regular Wranglers or the Gladiator, she still said no. After a bunch of research, I ordered a 2023 392 from Wilmington Auto Center, in Wilmington Ohio, on June 10th. Personally, I don't think you'll get a better deal anywhere if you want to order one. I was able to order my 392, under invoice, well below MSRP, also at the time they had an in-house deal going on that brought the price down even more. MSRP on my 392 was almost $93,000, I added most of the options, including the XR package and the half doors with premium uppers, my sale price came out to just over $87,000. if anyone is looking to order a new Jeep Call Chris at Wilmington Auto Center, you will not be disappointed. Absolutely zero sales pressure, also they have a 5-star rating on Dealer Rater. Also, there are no add on, extras or hidden fees or high DOC fees at this dealership, very straight up people.
Wonder who told you about the 392, Lindsey is my contact over there!
Great Advice!!!! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Just purchased a 2023 Wrangler 392 w/XR at Dan Cummins at MSRP, great buying experience. At the time I purchased this they had 6 of the 392's in stock ready for delivery.
Awesome! Jealous of your new 392..
Awesome channel Matt
Thank you!
Love the 392, got me a 21, and my 23 extreme recon 392 is being built as I write this 👍👍
Love it!
Thanks- great video
Thanks Dawn!
Yes it--the video--was. Really liked the "smoking something in the back" line. I purchased a pre-/ early days of 392, JLUR in pumpkin orange, used for 63K (OCT2021). It was used, but they got me on my existing trade, you know, still owing on. I've since sank over or about 30K upgrading and am working on brakes (Teraflex tentatively 29 November) and axle "improvements" next. Some of the insider dealer and time to buy information was good to hear (wish I knew). No plans to trade up so to speak but was interesting to skim through all the bloggers that desire a 392.
Hey man! Love your vids! You should do a few videos on the gladiator if you have a friends you can showcase. Maybe some specific bed upgrades or towing accessories. Just an idea 😊. Keep up the good work!!!
Good call, gladiator content coming soon$
At MSRP the 392 is totally worth it, even without the XR I absolutely love mine.
They are awesome!
Great video…well said.
Thanks James!
Great video. Suggestion for future video…. Like to see something on the hing corrosion issue and if Jeep has addressed in 2023; could be a reason to buy new if they have.
Good idea!
Another good one Matt and great buying advice, I think you definitely need a 392! I'm stuck in regear and locker the 2022 Willys or sell and buy a Rubicon. Jumped the Willys from my dealer during the shortage on orders. I do love the Willys history so it's a tough call. Now I gotta figure out where the link is to pay and support your channel? Told you....I'm kinda slow dammit.🤣
Thanks for the comment! The 392 is tempting for sure, if you want to support us check us out on Patreon!
Picked up my 23 392XR back in October. Love this thing it’s a fantastic daily driver that you can really exploit every day. Granted I still believe this is way over priced for what it is but the % off msrp I got brought it back down. For those waiting that don’t care about XR I would order now. I do think XR is a mandatory package though.
Absolutely !
Good tricks to know!
👍👍👍
Bought one the first year they came out. Got one hell of a deal on a factory order and drove all the way up there with my trade to drive it back home 1,000 miles absolutely worth it.
I’m jealous!
@@DIRTROADCRED it was 6% under invoice which I think is still unheard of today
I spend more time with the Mustang groups than my Jeep groups, but I could probably buy a new 392 with the nickels I got every time I heard someone say "collector's item." If you want it, get it, drive it, enjoy it, and then sell it before the government penalizes you every year for owning a non-electric vehicle (yes, that is coming!).
Valid points!
I got my 2023 wrangler 392 fully loaded - the only option I didn’t get was the X-R package cause I didn’t think it was worth 4K. But either way I paid with taxes 82,999. I got it for 6% below MSRP and love the shYt out of this thing. The gas thing had me concerned but it will go down again and I still have my wife’s 2018 wrangler JLUR 3.6L to use for longer road trips.
Awesome!
What dealer was this through ?
I love my JL Rubicon 392 XR. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It makes no sense and drinks gas like a hussie. But that said...I love her.
I bought my 392 XR for $72K with 11K miles and a 100K mile extended warranty. If you are patient and get a motivated salesman you can get one of these magical vehicles after someone else paid the 20% drive-it-off-the-lot tax. They can be had for far less than $94K. It is worth the search. Love this thing.
Follow your dream!
GR
Just so we are clear...$72K is approximately $1300K per month (if financed). This is not cheap but the thrills are worth the price of admission. Get one...you won't regret it!
Very nice!
Just traded in my 2021 JLURD for a 2023 392… it’s been great! I would like if you picked up a 392 and did overall maintenance videos that could apply to all Jeeps. Oh… I have yet to see a single person test the hydroglide!
Good idea!
Ordered my Rubicon 392 XR in June 2022. Paid way under MSRP. Just got it 2 weeks ago - Nov 2022. MSRP was over $92k. Hoping they hold value for a while! LOL
Awesome!
I REALLY wanted a 392 when they came out. I had to show some restraint and went with a Rubicon XR with the 3.6L because I knew that gas prices were going to get crazy. The fact that it requires premium fuel was a deal breaker for me. A few years ago, sure it would have been fine. But currently, it'd be death by a thousand fuel ups. If someone was in the market for a 392, I do think now would be the ideal time to take advantage of the down market.
Right on! Good comment!
I bought the 392 XR and do not regret it. I am averaging 13.5 mpg which is only 2 mpg less than my JT Mojave with the Pentastar 6.
I am having the time of my life. When I hammer the throttle, no one knows where that wicked V8 sound is coming from. My Rubicon JT 392 XR is the perfect sleeper. Know one ever suspects. It really is the perfect sleeper. Everybody knows you can time a jeep in the quarter mile with a calendar. 0-60 in who cares 7.5 s.
However, there is a remedy. Get a 392. It is one part muscle car and one part offroad magician. Do yourself a favor and just buy it if you can afford it.
Previous owner drove one red every day
I bought a 392 xr 2 weeks ago off local dealer for MSRP. They had a 20k markup on it fwiw if anybody looking. Didn't take much haggling ro get them down
Great feedback!
My 392 order comes in any day I got it 6k under msrp so I think I got a decent deal even with interest rates
That’s awesome!
I wished I could afford it! Damn those things are EXPENSIVE!!
They are pricey!
My dad wants one of these so bad but they don't have the right options, you talked to him on in the phone, his name is Mark.
I remember that! Hopefully they add some more options!
Have you heard of restrictions placed on orders for the 3.6 V6 Etorque engine?
I have. Met a guy last week at a gas station. Said they had trouble processing his custom order because Jeep couldn’t guarantee delivery within 6 months. Orders are through the roof …
I haven’t!
I really liked my 392 but there’s some parts that little missing I heard 20th anniversary model has 37” tires…
and leaking water, fast eating engine oil
Oh boy!
The 392 is awesome, but being forced to have all the added options just to get into it is a no-go for me. I don't want painted fenders or tops, I don't want leather seats, and I don't need adaptive cruise control.
Good point!
Had one on order for 5 months. Still waiting.
You will love it when it comes in!
I just bought a front steel rubicon bumper with factory LED fog lights. To make them work properly do I need to take it to the dealership after I install to make them not show up as fog lights out or not working? Will it just work?
Either that or a Tazer will work!
Is the 392 Daytona the same as the 392 Wrangler. I see a ton of these sports cars wrecked & totaled by YoBo’s in small West Texas towns and left in junk yards I wonder how hard it is to just swap engines? Might make a great show.
From what I’ve heard the engine is similiar but the front accessories are in much different locations
Collins Brothers does the swaps so it must be doable. There is a guy in Canada putting a Hellcat(?) in a Gladiator.@@DIRTROADCRED
Yeah I still don't have mine since June lol.
Hopefully the wait is almost over!
@@DIRTROADCRED I'm hoping too lol. It doesn't look like it, but if I see one with all possible options available, I will take it.
So do the 392’s have the extreme recon package ? Where is the best place to buy ?
The 20th does, the XR on the 392 has not had it for a little while as an option
@@DIRTROADCRED ready to order !!
Farrish ordered me a 392 back in June for $0 down, and it just got built a couple days ago. Even at the below MSRP price ($85k), I still can't bring myself to take delivery of it. Letting my Gladiator go for at least a $20k loss to then take on a $1500/mo. loan payment just sounds like bankruptcy waiting to happen. All for a good soundtrack and astronomical fuel costs and insurance.
They're neat, and I'm glad they exist, but I just can't.
It is crazy with the interest rates now!
Don't do it. Keep the gladiator. The stress of a high payment for 5-8 years is not worth it.
Im considering taking delivery on my 23' 392 XR and then just garaging it. Am I nuts to think ill be able to get 200k for it in 10 yrs?
It might be a little high, but it depends on what vehicle engines look like!
Dealers in Illinois are definitely smokin that goofy pack but their trying to sell sports for Rubicon prices
Lol!
Hello Mat I have a 2018 Mojito Rubicon that had a HEMI swap 6.4 done by AMW it’s there 505 package looking to sell if anyone is interested too many extras to list.
That’s awesome! Send me an email matt@dirtroadcredmedia.com
I love your jeep and everything your doing with it so please DO NOT SALE yours please
I just ordered about $5k worth of parts for it, it’s not going anywhere!
have had one on order for 125 days with no movement at all. actually it really sucks.
Hopefully you’ll have it soon!
I want to order one but still want the X recon from the factory……
Right!
@@DIRTROADCRED hope Jeep reads this and reinstates the option.
Wondering if DRC is the only canary for Jeep option coming and going? Is there another source we can check to see status?
@@DIRTROADCRED so I’m still a holdout for the 392 Wrangler, hoping they will bring the Extreme Recon back before ditching the 392 entirely. Fingers crossed and then I’ll order. If all goes in the toilet and they aren’t bringing that option back I’m not sure I’d want to go thru acquiring all the mods separately. But that’s a decision for another time when Jeep finally makes their decision. One other possibility is ordering the standard Rubicon, but I’d like to know more about this stop/start crazy function. I.e. is the aux battery charging when the car is running? If so why is it that it seems to crap out so much earlier than the standard battery? If you disable that S/S function is the aux battery still charging when the car is running? Any thoughts on this system would be great. Maybe a topic for an upcoming CZcams adventure. I’ve searched but can’t seem to find the info I want. Thx B
If only I could put the engine in a different model and get Metallic grey color! This is a great video!
Thanks for watching!
I’ve been contemplating a 392… just still concerned about paying $80k+ for a Jeep. I’m not worried about fuel economy, I’m worried about the price of premium fuel.
Truly consider looking for a used one between now and end of February. Used car prices are continuing to decline and 21 and 22 392’s under $80 are the norm and many are mid to low $70’s, even with xtreme recon.
As Matt noted the key is to get one under 36K miles and spend a little extra to get the Mopar extended warranty, key being through Mopar, especially on the power train.
Definitely something to consider
If Jeep had only been smart enough to offer a V8 in their two-door JL like the CJ 🙄
That would be awesome!
A 392 in a 2 door ?? Just go ahead and strap a Boeing airplane engine to the top too … you should be good then
😂😂 almost $100 k not a fat chance I’ll keep my JK and continue my engine and tranny swap for under $20k
Lol 😂
@@DIRTROADCRED honestly it was bound to happen so many guys wanted it I like it just can’t afford it 😂 I like the fact that they put a hemi in it and it’s covered buying it straight from the dealership.
Get rid of the light behind you.
How about a different color next time?
@@DIRTROADCRED no get rid of the light
Stop talking about a 392 jeep and just buy it ! It only money
Tempting 😅
