- Ok so we're doing this. Its been long overdue, but Im expanding my content horizons. What better way to do it, then with talking about lore of the Lion King and Lion Guard. Its a masterful example of the writing working out every supposed continuity error, if you give it enough time. Join me as I explore more franchises!

Lion Guard Defend! 🦁

Love the Lion Guard so much! It's probably still my biggest comfort show (even if I'm not fond of the ending), and while I don't think it's particularly canon, I do love that they still cared enough to explain where they were in the second movie.
Okay, the Lion Guard is my favorite show and I'd love to see more. Also I do enjoy how this show did something you don't think of as impressive, trying to fit into a pre-existing story. In fact it kinda inspired me to make a KH fanfic I currently have in the works where it happens during the events of KH COM, DDD, and 3.
I mean, I do think of it as impressive, I literally called it masterful in the title
The only thing I could complain about from the little I saw is that they could have made the relationship between Kion and Rani develop better, that it felt very superficial or like something was missing or that spark
They shared a nice little condolence moment after Rani's grandmother passed away.
I hope that Hasbro still takes advantage of the G5 to clearly extend the Lore of the G4 and explain things better, I am surprised how Disney here was able to explain several doubts about "The Lion King"
I think Lion Guard did it better than MLP G5
The Lion Guard honestly did it better than MLP G5, there was actual continuity in it. Personally, I find it really hard to enjoy watching MLP G5, I think it would have been better off if they continued it off with Luster Dawn rather than skipping ahead hundreds of years and destroying everything Twilight worked for in the 9 seasons of G4.
@@AvengedPanzer Then again, staying in the exact same world as the previous generation sort of gets rid of the point of a new generation. G5 had a good setting with it being years away, but it was still weighed down by the success of g4. The generations before 4 and 5 had it easy.

Ngl. I love lion guard even as an adult I like it. Characters were fun and despite the fact ai have many problems witg season 3 it's still great.
Wish there was season 4 because I hoped to see more from Rani and Kion because their relationship is way too rushed

The Lion Guard was honestly the only other cartoon airing at the time that caught my attention the same way MLP did. Despite the writing being more juvenile than MLP, it was what I noticed a lot of bronies wished MLP was: more action-oriented. I have always loved Lion King 1 & 2, and though TLG pissed me off sometimes, I thought it paid nice homage to the classic movies... and it managed to be a very entertaining show in its own right!!! I will always miss it 🥹

The Lion Guard is one of my favorite shows! Even if I'm not nearly as obsessed with the franchise as I used to be, I still enjoy the content.

It actually adds a lot of lore for both pre-movie, and during the first two movies, Kion admittedly doesn’t make sense as a concept if you think about why he wasn’t ever mentioned during the second movie, but they did the continuity really well

@@doc_anubis I thought he just didn't exist during the making of the second movie, although I do like that they showed why Kion and the Lion Guard weren't present during the movie
I think the reason why he wasn't in the lion king 2 because he wasn't born yet he is Younger then Kiera

I have always loved TLK!! I also love The Lion Guard! They struggled a bit with the animations in the beginning, I assume because of time and budget, and since it was a Disney Junior show, my guess is they put mostly interns and new hires on the show. But it has such an amazing story and the animations clearly vastly improve over the seasons 💜💙💚
The lore of the lion guard worked amazingly! It took a bit to unfold and be fully understood. But it didn't step on any lore toes in the meantime. At the time, I was wondering how the seemingly fantasy power elements would feel since we had never seen any animals possessing them. I got use to it after a little bit.

Technically season 1 and 2 do take place in the second movie since kovu already know Kira.

I'm gonna be honest, I think Kion and Jasiri or Kion and Fuli have more chemistry than Kion and Rani.
Here's a fun part about Kion's healing process. The Tree of Life turns out to be all the way in India, and when Kion's healing process is revealed to not be physical, as scars don't heal physically. A lioness teaches him about patience and reflecting. It is a simple therapy, but it also seems very much like he is being given some Buddhism teachings. As an anxious teenager, Kion definitely needed some slowing down to heal his mind.
Since Disney is still with The Lion King making Lice Actions, it would be nice if they confirmed a 4th season soon and expanded the world from where it left off (I would like to see more than anything, Kiara and Kovu as kings)
I doubt we'll get a 4th season, yeah it would e cool, but it doesnt seem likely

That movie will have to be fan-made at this point. You are only one of the thousands of people that are crazy about Kopa, and with that many people you all could probably make that movie yourselves. Didn’t expect this lion guard video in MLP channel! It’s cool! I like cartoons where a group of friends who defend their country and that MLP and TLG shared! I like that kind of trope!

Very reasonable and good video sir and as a diehard lion king fan since at the age of 2, I sorta liked this show and I really do liked the new characters too such as shujaa, kion, beshte, jasiri, ono, bunga and sometimes the selfish cheetah fuli (Despite not being based on further William Shakespeare characters which of what made the lion king franchise and its characters freaking iconic) and it could’ve been better if it was made for Disney channel and not Disney Junior. Also while older lion king fans don’t like it that much to be honest (Due to the show despite being a prequel to lion king 2 since lion guard creator Ford Riley wasn’t actually involved with the movie at the time during the late 1990s and was a secretary and writer for the franchise’s first tv show Timon & Pumbaa that ran from 1995 to 1999 and is unfortunately still enjoyable than this one due to that show made for both toon disney and disney channel itself and won accolades and emmy awards while lion guard didn’t). Also this show while being decent has a lot of zoology and animal fact errors that really irritates me such as like for example gorillas living the snowy mountains rather than the well-known virunga mountains and bwindi impenetrable forest and because of that despite being canon to the lion king 2, this show was clearly hit-or-miss to be honest with you doc anubis. Let’s hope Disney could softly reboot this show and remedying it in the future!

As far as Im concerned, yes, the events of season 3 happen at the same time as most of the second movie and they worked it so well to make it fit in the world, that I have no doubt and see it as canon

@@beccacroce7380 Because apart from Kovu and Kiara and from Kion and Rani, Kopa also deserves a love interest and his love for Vitani is so strong that he will protect and take care of her all his life, although she is Zira's daughter, but still, Kopa loves to Vitani, and that's why Kopa and Vitani are one of the best romantic couples of the Lion King Franchise.
