The Nether Lands. That's what the land outside the castle was called, and the castle itself is based on Tirak's castle from G1, Midnight Castle. Three different people have been observed, centaurs, gargoyles and cloud gremlins.
King Vorak was undoubtedly a demanding and strict father figure who did not trust his son, who definitely had daddy issues which made their relationship very strained. His marriage to Queen Haydon, a gargoyle, may mean that he was king of all three Kinds, centaurs who may have been magicians and leaders, gargoyles as workers and soldiers, and cloud gremlins as weather workers - this recalls the distribution of the ponies in the unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies in G4. From what little is shown, it seems that the lands were barren and harsh, which means that those who live there had to be hardy and tough to survive and build a civilization there. That could explain why Vorak was very strict as a ruler, not limited to just his subjects, as Tirek noted. Tirek was an ambitious rebel who may have felt inferior to his father, and everyone saw what happened when Discord pointed this out to him. Even many centuries later, it was painful for the villain. Vorak treated him brusquely and coldly because he took his task as king very seriously.
Since Tirak appears in G5, which is a sequel to G4, it is possible that he was the ancestor of King Vorak and Tirek, who in S9 of G4 revealed that he was familiar with the historical but very little known Grogar - who may have been the lord of the centaurs very long before his time. This is possibly confirmed by Midnight Castle, which was King Vorak's residence. The land was probably on the same continent as Equestria, as Sendak and King Vorak had talked about traveling by land when they mentioned the land of the ponies. There was a connection between Grogar and the centaurs, we just don't know which one. Perhaps they were created by him, who in G1 had revealed that he wanted slaves to work for him, and he considered hands an important capacity for future slaves.
We learned in S8, G4 that chimeric creatures are not a natural phenomenon in the magical world, and that means someone had created the many chimeric monsters and intelligent beings that we know existed in G4. Several of the intelligent chimeric beings had human features on them, usually the torso and arms with hands. From S9 it is known that Grogar may have ruled over a very large empire.
A centaur is a horse with a torso derived from a human. Although all centaurs in G4 have human torsos, they have been noted to have primate features on them, especially in the facial area. Vorak and Tirek wear protruding chains, and as Tirek ages - he ends up being a thousand years old in Tartarus - his jaw grows like that of a baboon or gorilla. Tirek got "horse face". All primates (monkeys) today have flat faces when they were just small children, we humans (homo sapiens) have a "childish face" in comparison. They are also very muscular, perhaps more so than normal humans.
Tirek saw himself as a fair fighter with a code of honor despite his bully behavior and cunning, as seen several times in G4. His aggressiveness seemed to be natural. This makes the connection with the cloud gremlins interesting. It is known that they could manipulate clouds and make it rain or shine, and that their magic is based on negative emotions that they assimilate from these on the ground. Perhaps the countries where Vorak, Haydon, Scorpan and Tirek came from were characterized by martial culture. The Gargoyles looked like very tough soldiers who were not to be trifled with.
We also know little about Discord's past before he invaded Equestria to spread chaos, but there are various stories that he had wandered through the centuries and came into contact with several realms where the rulers got to know him. Celestia and Luna were not unfamiliar with him, as was Tirek who recognized him as an acquaintance when they met in G4. In any case, it looked like his chaos powers weren't that strong as he wandered the world, before attacking Equestria with an unimaginable strength that caught the rulers by surprise.
He may have visited "all" realms as he was immortal, so his role as an advisor to King Vorak would not be unusual. But another king wanted him dead, King Anubis of Anugypt - and it is possible that he was part of the power circle of Anugypt along with the jackal king and Baast. Which could explain why the two had a close relationship with Discord, one feeling betrayed while the other felt strong gratitude towards him. Discord was thus a powerful "player" when he wandered around offering his services to kings, queens and princesses.
    Before the chaos overtook him.

It's a shame that there is no backstory for Grogar because he was never actually introduced in the MLP FIM show but the bad guys used his bell🔔to conquer the world

This comic was great. It is interesting to see Discord be part of this council from this far away land. So no wonder when Tirek first meet Discord in season 4, he took a respectful bow, he might have known Discord as an important person in his father's council. And since his father told he would go to meet up with Celestia this also somewhat confirms that Celestia might be older then Tirek since she was already the ruler of Equestria and Tirek was a teenager at that point.

I think that, those ppl in the council could be elementals, concepts personified. Being him the all chaos king/spirit. It would be an interesting concept, sad we aren't seeing it anymore.

I know how Tirek feels. I also felt neglected by my family sometimes, especially my dad. But it always gets resolved somehow. So if Vorak had been more like a father instead of a king, Tirek might not have turned out so villainous. In my personal opinion, Tirek is not beyond redemption. He just needs a real family. Like Chrysalis and Cozy Glow. I know along Tirek they are still bad but if Twilight and her friends find a way to reform Chrysalis first and then Cozy Glow, they could help Tirek realize that he doesn’t need power, he needs friends. By the way I don’t know if you remember but I’d said before that Chrysalis could be reformed by Pharynx and Cozy Glow could be reformed by Diamond Tiara. So Tirek could be reformed not only by his brother Scorpan but also his friends Chrysalis and Cozy Glow. That my opinion anyway. Let me know what you guys think. Because the real threat would be the real Grogar and his own evil version of the mane 6. Let me know who should be in Grogar’s version of the mane 6.

Well, Twilight and her friends have learn to understand that not all villains can be reformed and if they want to stay evil, it's their choice. Also, while Tirek was born a prodigy with more magic than any other being in their kingdom, Vorak disapproved of how he acted, fearing that Tirek would one day try to use his power to overthrow him. Their relationship was strained due to Vorak's disapproval of Tirek's behaviour as a sociopath. He even said that since Tirek was born, always acted bad as far as I've looked. So, either even if Vorak had been more like a father, Tirek would still become villainous either way by hunger for power and be taught by Sendak. Besides not sure if the comics intended to make the villains sympathic because thankfully in the series, not tragic or sympathic. His relationship with his father and his brother Scorpan "betraying" him and getting him imprisoned are not very good excuses for his actions for the following reasons:
The reason he was imprisoned was because he was unstable and didn't understand the true meaning of friendship, which is supported by his sadism, brutality, and temper tantrums throughout the series. It's also implied that he was already heinous even before he had a bad relationship with his father. I prefer if Vorak is not involved in Tirek's motive for stealing magic. I do hope you understand that the three villains are better as villains and no more even if disagreements are in order.

The moral of this story is that despite Tirek's youth, he remains above all the greatest traitor in all his importance, what he knows how to spend with his father also reminds me of what he knows how to happen in certain anime Japanese in particular "Dragon Ball Z" and I didn't think I would have the master of chaos in his humble premises at Vorak Castle 🏰
    That's an Amazing story ^ ^
And when " Lord Tirek " telling Discord that he was also a traitor as a whole it was in connection with his redemption towards Princess Celestia and especially towards " The Mane 6 " more precisely " FlutterShy " who gave him his friendship that's why that Tirek used Discord to carry out his plan to take back magic and not just ponies or creatures, but rather the environment of Equestria
Twilight Sparkle said that real magic working together would make us stronger and she was right 💖

While comic is great showing us the backstory of one of MLP’s best villains I think we’re overlooking one fact…..WHY DIDN’T COZY GLOW GET A BACKSTORY IN THE COMICS?!

Who could believe that Tirek learned from an old Centaur on how to drain magic from other creatures and that he sold him out? If this didn't happen, Would Tirek be a good guy?
