You gottttta get yourself one of them new type can openers man, total changer. The kind that doesn't cut the can but cleanly cuts around the seal of the lid? Ugh. You will thank me if you do get one. (You won't probably, cuz I'm just a dude on the internet, but seriously give it a try)
YES I came to make this comment too! The metal slicing can opener that he used (from the dark ages) generals a zillion little stainless steel invisible shards into the food you eat & a lid which is dangerous and will slice your hand open! The phrase that a monopoly online giant company suggests is the seach phrase "seal breaking can opener". That seal breaking is what canners INTENDED for sealed cans to be opened by -- and there are no shards & the lid is not sharp & actually fits right back onto the opened can. Do it, Matthew, for the whole family. ♡♡

I love them, always keep some in my pantry. Some people like them better than sardines, but they don’t have the bones so not as much calcium. I like them as much as sardines.

I started eating sardines for health reasons, and now love them. I've also built up quite a pantry of canned fish, trying new varieties (and getting 12 packs from AMAZON 😅). I’m not sure if canned fish work this way in terms of the coloring but I know it does in regular grocery store bought fish: they simply add coloring to it.
I used to work as a clerk selling seafood. At least once a month i would get a customer that would swear to me a fish I knew was more fresh had actually gone bad because it wasn’t as pink as the other. I’d pull out the packaging of each and show it to the customer “color added” and then they’d inevitably get more pissed off. Side gigs while going to school were fun lol
How this channel only have 65k subscribers????? This is pure entertainment, a perfect review of a product that I never gave the proper respect and value, but now I'm fascinated about it!

Funny, I finally tried the Wildfish sockeye can I’ve had sitting around just a few days ago. I think it’s my favorite of the five Wildfish cans I’ve had. But I’ve also got a can of the limited edition white king salmon belly that I’m waiting for a special occasion to pop open.

I'm also a huge fan of canned seafood. I recently tried some smoked carp from Russia. It came in a glass jar packed in sunflower oil. It was friggin foul. It tastes like it was smoked with Soviet era newspapers and packed in gopnik piss. It also had bones in it stronger than my teeth. I also had the absolute best canned seafood I've ever had. They were variegated scallops in sauce by Ramon Pena. $14 a can and worth every penny.

Damn, the man is back. I've been wondering about salmon a lot. Which are the good ones? I like trader joes smoked salmon in the flat tin, but I don't know which species that is. I don't know if that type of salmon is found among other brands.
salmon looks amazing.....so much better than canned salmon in the uk supermarkets....though you probably paid a much higher price for those...thanks for the video - always entertaining....i haven't seen jeopardy for at least 40 years.

stay with me matt.. mixed sardine oils. instead of tossing that liquid gold down the sink, start saving them in jar and mix them. cracker/sardine dip? sardine shots? salad dressing? anyway you go about it, you know what to do boss.
pink....bleh. we feed it to our dogs up here. Most of us laugh that people in the 48 eat it.

Whenever you cross a new fish off the list, if you talked on the nutritional value and sustainability, it would be super helpful as to what fish personally I'd want to get/ what I should eat more sparingly. Nothing, I can't Google myself, but I think it could be beneficial to include

Love canned salmon. I buy Honey Boy brand pink salmon for cheapness and making salmon burgers in cast iron. The smoked stuff? Haven’t tried wild fish cannery as they are pricey but quality I reckon. Then again when it comes to smoked salmon I do my own in an old Luhr Jensen Mini Chief electric smoker. You can make it better and cheaper for what you pay for store bought. Hear me now believe me later! On another note… most excellent video flick as always. I missed you Mr Carlson.
