    Thanks so much for keeping the full content of your exploration into the video, and showing the trial and error. It was very helpful for those of us that have already tried to find the problem without success. I have exactly the same issue. I like your style how you made me feel like I was sitting right there with you trying to figure it out rather than dealing with annoying music, useless bling, etc. like a lot of these videos have.

    Thank you! Currently camping and our large roller just fell down and your video helped me get the valances down and screws back into the clip and track. Much appreciated!

    Seems I’m not the only only one with this shade issues. Brand new Imagine and two of the largest shades just don’t stay down. Seems like an awful lot of work to get them to work correctly. Thank you for your valuable information. Much appreciated

      Thanks for your comment. The shades can be aggravating but, I do like how well they keep the light out.

    Well, I love your patience. I believe I have the same shade. My problem is it will not release and allow it to pull down. Like the internal ratchet stop is stuck. Tomorrow I will get it down and take a closer look. Thank you my friend.

    Thank you very informative I think we all are having issues with those blinds... we have 397thR and we have one doing that in the living room area.

    I feel you Brother! The 74" roller shade on my 2021 Reflection fell down, mounting clips and all, during my last, three-hour trip to Ute Lake State Park. (video on my channel) I re-installed the clips with more substantial woods screw and Loctite Premium... but have not been able to re-mount the shade, by myself, since it is so long. Just one of many headaches with my new camper!

      Just watched your video on the Reflection and subscribed. Good luck with your channel. In your video you mentioned having work done by a plumber due to not having time to wait on an opening at a dealership. I'm going to recommend you call Grand Design and tell them about your problem. I had a couple of issues with my Imagine that I had repaired away from a dealership and they reimbursed my expenses. Thanks for watching and your comment. Let me know if you have any luck with this.

      @@practicingretirement7732 Thanks for the advice. I did call them regarding the plumbing leaks and I was told that I needed to take it to a Grand Design dealership. I know now that I should have persisted with my issue. subscribed to your channel as well, we can keep up with mutual issues.

    Couldn’t stand it so I took it apart and after messing with the stop end of the core, I got it working for now. I’ll need to order that part. Thx.

    Mine is the newer version without knob wheels on the ends
    It appears to roll up.manually and hold, but when I gently pull on it, it just falls to the bottom. The GD video show rolling it up manually a little faster than normal, but that appears not to work for me as it never starts going back up by itself like their video does. All I did was put down the shade a little further than the bottom of the window and it bottomed out, refusing to go up. 8 tried rolling it manually in both directions in declaration, but no dice either way.

    Thanks for your video! I had found my bracket clips, and pushed them in, but nothing happened. I couldn't figure out how to release my shade from them. So I wasted 5 hours looking at other videos and info to no avail, prior to finding yours and saw you do it. My shade is actually ok, but it's attached to the valance over my sliding glass door in my rv. The valance was installed too low and I kept hitting my head whenever I went in or out, since I'm very tall. I had to remove the shade in order to raise the valance. Once I got the shade out of the way, it was a quick job. However, I cannot get the shade back on the brackets now, since it's so long and heavy. Is there a trick to it?

    • @practicingretirement7732
      @practicingretirement7732  Před 2 lety

      It's been a while since I worked on the shade but, I think you may have to install the roller shade to the valance before reattaching the valance to the wall. Hope you have gotten it to work. It can be very frustrating.

      Thanks you so much for just say black knob rolls up, LOL. Our bedroom shade was stuck all the way down. I used the Black Knob (clockwise) and move the shade up a few inches then was able to raise the shade back up the correct way.

    hello there, so my question is: After figuring out that adjusting the stop mechanism helped fix the problem, would you say that there was no need to replace the spring? I have both larger windows not performing correctly and also the smaller window in the bedroom. We pay so much for this trailer and have only had it for under a year and already have window shade issues.
    You mentioned we could ask questions for other issues that you could maybe help with. Could you look at the sliding doors on the bathroom and bedroom to maybe help with a repair on the stop mechanism that is sticking down and out from the top of the track. We forgot to secure the doors and during travel the door broke that metal bolt that stops the doors from going to o far off track.
    Thank you in advance

      Hi, thanks for watching and asking your questions. First, when I got through with the blind repair, I was convinced I didn't need to replace the spring. The new spring and the old one looked alike. As for the doors, I just repaired mine last week. I didn't think about doing a video. Maybe another day.
      Truly the stops on the doors are ridiculously cheap. Absolutely below the quality of the rest of the trailer. I had the same thing happen from not securing a door then had the problem on the other door for reasons I don't know. If you haven't gotten the door back on the track, you will need to remove the panel that covers the track. The panel goes the width of the camper all the way up to the ceiling. Once this and the screw that was the bumper is removed, you can put the door back on the track. I then made a bumper with what I had available. In this case, it was paper that I folded and rolled tight wrapped with white Band Aid waterproof tape. I would have used a wine bottle cork if I had one at the time. I made it where I had to squeeze it into the end of the track and slide it up to where the screw had been. The one I made was a little bigger around than a cork and about the length. After it was in place, I opened and closed the door to find exactly where I wanted it to stop. I then drilled a hole in the stop I made like the way the factory did with its screw. Then, I installed a screw that's a little larger than the original and screwed it in have the head of the screw touch the stop I made. The bigger screw is much more substantial and the stop further supports it. The end result is the stop makes for a soft but, solid stop for the door. Sorry for the length of this. I could have done a video quicker if hadn't left my camper at a campground away from here. Let me know how it works for you or if you have any other questions.

    So, in retrospect, could you have fixed it by just adjusting the clear knob or was it necessary to remove it from the wall and replace the stop part? It sounds like the spring deal was working all along - or did i misunderstand?

    • @practicingretirement7732
      @practicingretirement7732  Před rokem +1

      Really good question. I tried on several occasions to adjust the shade with the knobs before ordering replacement parts. Honestly, after taking everything apart, I don't think there was anything wrong with the original parts. I don't know why it took taking it apart and putting it back together to make it work but, it did. If you have been successful in correcting the problem of the shade being stuck all the way down by adjusting the knob, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks for watching and your question.

    Hi
    Through your trials and tribulations of taking that off were you able to determine if you were to take it off without having to take the valence all apart if it was just held in by clips if so could you please make a tape showing that thank you.

    The whole shade is dependent on a 1/8" piece of clear plastic. Not much strength for the steel spring it is attached to. Poor design and manufacturing.
    Thanks for the video, friend.
