- Modifications have begun on the barrel camping raft and it won't be long before it's all fully completed! Michael has been whipping up drawings and they have a CNC machine and shop close to our place. Very excited to see how the boat comes along.

This is the most Canadian thing ever. One minute you’re hanging around waiting for the grocery store to open, the next you’re making friends and trading bamboo roofing for milled aluminum pieces. Can’t wait to see the New And Improved Hunker Yacht in action.
In another life I programmed and ran similar machines. We cut 1/4 aluminum sheets for Military and Commercial use. Some Jobs had massive pieces. Time for a Step 2.

Barrel Raft Construction, You've got my attention!!!
He has videos up on the home made rain barrel raft they have been motoring about in. They have, I think, 8 barrels under the floor of the raft which gives it the ability to float.
@@sassylady2001 yeah, I saw his build and camping trip. I have actually already built 2 myself. I love these things and want to build a third, but have to wait for lumber prices to drop.

What a sweet step 2 surprise ! I am so excited for the barrel raft, I hope it becomes an annual trip down the river with crazy neighbour. The idea of just floating down the river, picking a camp spot. Staring at the night sky with a friend. It is the most appealing for me of all Steve's adventures. Oh, and the culvert, don't know why, just love a culvert.

Hey Steve, You could tow an enclosed dingy or event a kayak to haul additional supplies. you could completely skirt either boat to keep water out. it may be nice for excursions into low water areas as well when emptied. Good luck
I wish everything was like this. Services exchanged for goods or barter. I bet life would be more fun without money. You best get some champagne to smash on the raft when it's ready to sail. Maybe HRH is free to give a proper Royal send off 😀

years ago, I saw a bare pontoon boat on the side of the road and a Camp Chef oven/stove in a catalog, to build a houseboat. I never have had the money but always thought they belonged together

The solution to your weight problem is an inflatable tow raft. Rig up a raft with gear/supplies secured with a cover and tie downs...or at least take one as backup to reduce weight if needed and as a safety backup.

For this project he traded the bamboo he was removing from his home for the metal roof.
Next year,have them CNC a stealth raft. I suggest making it look like the Loch Ness monster. Nobody will ever guess.
