This has some really cool features. A lot of companies are putting out mixers marketed towards novice sound techs, but this is the first I've seen that can be a truly professional console with features to help beginners.
Well that looks nothing like my old Yamaha EM300 12ch analog mixer of days gone by. If I only had this back then....... I would have a time machine. : )

I've watched several reviews on this mixer, and from what I can gather, it's geared toward live applications. I want to know if it's the best choice for studio recording, as I want both a control surface, and DAW, Cubase or Pro tools. I've narrowed it down to 2 choices; The TF-5, or the Tascam, DM 4800. Thoughts anyone?
+Elvin Lewis At the current time, the TF Series does not function as a control surface, but it does work as an audio interface with a DAW. We have had many requests for this feature, so we may consider it in a future update. Depending on your channel input and output requirements, the 01V96i with additional IO might better suit your needs. Thank you for considering Yamaha.
Hi Yamaha we try to buy a TF5 digital mixer for our churn but it's not available in our country (India). They told that they import on December or January but not sure...what we do... please make that available for us please..we need that.....some of the dealers not responding properly.....they saw my message but no reply.... I'm asking for the availability they don't care about that...I don't know what we do...please help Mee...I am a big lover of Yamaha 😍..but the dealers are not so good...not all but in India ( chennai, Nagercoil, Karnataka) they are not responding to customer's doubts...please helo me Yamaha please.ASAP

When he introduces the mixer, is the channel count correct? I'm pretty sure the TF1 is 40 channels and the TF3/TF5 are both 48.

does this mixer supports Logic Pro?
+Machapaa Damian The TF Series will work as an audio interface for Logic Pro but it does not support HUI control.
Yamaha, Do you know if HUI control can or will be implemented at some point in the future with updates?
Logic doesn't use HUI control, its Mackie
