  • Short and sweet and to the point. Done on the first take, and I probably missed a few points. After owning this Pioneer for about 5 years this is my opinion on the Pioneer 700-4. Good power for trail riding but lacks power for spirited riding on roads. Very reliable machine.

    I REALLY love the color of it. I'm waiting to by one. I know some people want speed but we trail ride speed isn't all it's cut out to be. We see more wrecks for speeding with them but everyone has their own are you of driving. You did a good job on the video.

      Thanks, Randy. It's been a solid reliable machine. Just rolled 6,000km and only had a universal boot tear.

    Great review. I think you nailed it. For the price nothing better then this reliable machine if your looking for a dump bed and 4 seats. If you want to go faster then 42 mph or don’t need the dump bed spend some more money and get something really fun.

    Just bought a base model 2025 Honda Pioneer 700-4. You can not get into a 4 seater ANYTHING for the 2025 model for anywhere close to the $13,999 price. I looked at everything and Yamaha $16k plus, Polaris is $21k plus for these 4 seaters and many of them are so long it's like a limo. try taking a tight corner with trees or a little rocky hill in one of those. I think not. I'm happy with what I know is a much more reliable Honda (although Yamaha is close) over others and at this price coupled with the reliability, it just seams to me like a no-brainer. I think it can be easy to pick stuff apart when we become tired of it and get the itch for something fresh but if I had to guess your Pioneer has been real good to you.

    I love my Honda 700-4 I have a lot of accessories for it including a 6 foot fisher v plow and it plows great we got a foot of snow 2 weeks ago and it was a lot nicer than the tractor for plowing plenty of low end power but just like you said not the fastest machine

    Typical Honda… Overbuilt and underpowered. That’s what makes it so reliable! We are shopping these now. Thanks for the video.

    I also live in Ontario. Been looking at buying the 700-4 for some time now. The trails i know are narrow and i definitely don't need to go 100km/h. How is it on the trails with 4 people in it?

    • @ve3xtr
      @ve3xtr  Před 3 lety

      On the trails with four people, not a problem. Four people out on a stretch of road, it won't be the quickest 0-60. All depends on what your looking for if you don't need the performance, the machine is more than capable on the trails. I'll be selling mine next year to upgrade to a Yamaha Wolverine X4 850.

    Yes we like our 2015 700-4 . Now have header exhaust tape with stainless steel tie wraps on Hondaś exhaust from manifold to just past drivers seat. ( as per review found on Utube ) this helps with the heated front seat issue / hot seat belt release buttons.
    Time to replace cheap stock 25” tires with a radial 26” on same steel 12” rims. May try Kenda K587 Bear Claw HTR 26x11x12. Rear & 26x9x12 fronts💥 any suggestions

      @ve3xtr  Před 2 lety

      I had 26 inch Mud Lite XTR radials on it, but they wore out last year. Very rough and noisy ride. I went back to the original size and put the Traxion Rover bias ply on. They were cheap. I found that not having power steering made turning effort difficult with the 26 inch tires. I just rolled 6,000 km on the Pioneer. I had one issue to date, a torn universal joint boot on the main drive shaft. $30 for the part but the whole rear end must be removed in order to replace the boot.

    If it had a 4th gear would be perfect

      100% agree. Would like to see one more gear but overall I have no issues with this. If you want to go 50 MPH or want storage. Go buy a Jeep and check the pricing vs. this. This is a very reliable machine that can do a lot and is fun but it is NOT a Jeep/Truck nor is it a tractor. I do also agree that the rollcage is a bit tall. Other than that I love my 700-4 and it does everything I needed it to do.

    Where did you get those seat covers? love the honda pioneer but the seats are to hot!

    • @ve3xtr
      @ve3xtr  Před 2 lety

      They are genuine honda seat covers. They are made of Cordura and have held up well over the 6 years. I got them because of the vinyl seats and the heat issue; these helped a lot, but they were pricey. I honestly can't remember who I got them from.

    Do you know if they have upped the horsepower on the new 2021 pioneer?

    • @ve3xtr
      @ve3xtr  Před 3 lety

      To the best of my knowledge, they have not. Probably won't see a hp increase until they revamp the Pioneer completely.

      Buy the 1000 trust me, I just bought one and it has great power. Our dealer sells the 1000 over the 700 by 20 to 1.

    • @ryanolep1078
      @ryanolep1078 Před 3 lety +2

      @@craighatch3221 I know I bought the 700 for my first SXS and every time I get on a gravel road i wish I spent more for a 1000. But one advantage the 700 has is its smaller wheel base. Nice being able to use a 5’ wide trailer to haul it and some trails are 60” or less.

    • @jasoncavallaro3803
      @jasoncavallaro3803 Před 2 lety +1

      The horsepower is the same for all years so far mine is a 2021 and the low end torque is unbelievable for a 700 single cylinder engine I move my 3500 lb boat around with it even on a hill it’s no problem I load the bed with firewood for ballast while plowing snow and we can go north to Maine and ride on all trails unrestricted due to width. I looked at the 1000 but the extra width made me go with the 700-4 and I am very impressed with this machine

    Could you plow snow effectively with it?

    • @ve3xtr
      @ve3xtr  Před 2 lety

      I don't have a plow on mine but it has more than enough power for plowing snow in diff lock mode.

    • @waynerich3734
      @waynerich3734 Před 2 lety +1

      It plows snow fine with my Royal Distributing Warren plow ; however , I added a cheap $60. Cnd Tire winch , mounted on plow frame with a seatbelt replacing the wire rope winch line for ultimate performance. Which free s up my 4500lb Warren winch just in case I get stuck. Need new tires though.

    What about snow plowing? Is it too underpowered for that?

      I have not tried to plow snow with it. I think there are some video's on CZcams.
