Neurable CEO Ramses Alcaide has a mission: bring neurotechnology out of research labs - and surgical suites - and into everyday life.
He envisions a future where the neurotechnology that allows Neurable’s products to read brainwaves via electrical signals - without surgical implants - is used to track cognitive capability and mental health, like a Fitbit for the brain.
Their current device, still only available as a preorder, is a set of headphones, called Enten. The headphones are designed to read electrical signals produced by neurons in your brain, a technique called electroencephalography, or EEG for short.
Neurable claims that the EEG sensors inside the normal-looking headphone’s ear cups can detect brain activity, which its proprietary algorithms - named after Pokemon - can read, analyze, and decode. The idea is to provide insights in focus and neural activity from, and for, people in daily life.

Morally wrong! This, AI, spying, and much more should all be universally banned.
This - goodbye freewill/free thought. No bright/unique idea will be yours. Instead a nasty corporation will monetize on it immediately. You're just a work horse.
AI - bye bye innovation/creativity/originality. With this technology, it will eventually pump out more "ideas", then the whole human populous. What will come of us?
Spying - All that was mentioned above, is practically this. They have been doing this for decades but picked up greately around 2010. What is life when all of this picks up pace and is standardized? What is the point of existing if you are no different to cattle?

Absolutely! This is the future, connecting neurology with technology. This being a beta model is the first step in a serious scalability of innovation. The future of this tech is inevitable, and has tons of real world application. Imagine this and running AI models with the data, we could help you pin point strong suits in your thinking patterns, helping people decipher themselves and patterns in their behaviors, or people with disabilities, the future of this could allow a quadriplegic to drive a car

Oh, they were caught off-guard definitely. From the cues I caught, Ramses was expecting the data collection topic to pop up, just not that quickly. Notice the hands and lips. Hands: clasped together at the front but in a low position. In MY personal "body language dictionary," it usually means that the speaker is still open to answering the question, but wanted to do so in their own time.
Now the lips: General body language experts will tell you that humans have different "Pacifying behaviors" or unconscious nervous "tells" that allows the speaker to subtly calm down while also remaining completely receptive and attentive to the person asking questions.
I'm no expert, but I can tell you that Ramses definitely believes in the concept of making this tech accessible. But worried that malicious actors may attempt to exploit it. After all, data is the most valuable commodity in today's age of tech.

Great question! From withintent.com: "Looking at brain patterns over time, EEG can be used to detect if it’s likely that a person has a condition like ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, among others, and provide feedback during treatment." withintent.com/blog/neurable-interview/
You might also wonder how it could help people who are already diagnosed. Hayden Field with emergingtechbrew.com interviewed Ramses Alcaide, Neurable CEO, to find out. Alcaide said this: "I personally have ADHD, and it’s always been a difficult challenge, especially because in the past, my primary work at Neurable was more technical, and now it's more about being in the public, an evangelist, the CEO, leading-which is a completely different set of skills than coding and writing journal articles. So how I manage my medication has been really valuable, as has using the headphones-understanding how they affect my focus, where I should use them, how I should structure my day. And on top of that, being able to leverage the technology to know when my mind is wandering and be able to step back to things at a faster rate than I normally would. So these are all benefits that I've gained from it."
